The place had a great update and make over under its new management. The new workers and management are great. They got their act together when it comes to entertainment and fundraisers. Â
Great place to meet people both new and those whom you have not seen in ages. The Knight Hawks and local bear groups meet there on Saturdays.
The men do intermix much better now than in the old days.
Still has the old charm of the days gone by but still feels like home to the locals and visiting men.
So I've been living in DC for a few years and moved here. This is definitely not a big city bar. It's a Leather/Daddy kinda bar and it shows. It's the kind of place you go and drink beer or a nice mixed drink and can play darts or pool with friends. Most of the people there are in there 30/40's and not to many young guys. If your looking to have a beer (and not something with an umbrella in it), meet some people that will say hi to you and talk to you right off the street then this is the place. Just remember your not in a big city and you will be OK. It is one of those places that you can wear shorts / t-shirt and fit in with everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and will talk to you, help you out, and fill you in on anything you want to know. Hope this helps :-)
Review Source:seriously??! Is there some Hampton Roads/Tidewater joke that I completely missed?
That bar is pathetic, starting from the whiff of decomp. as you enter - the rude, inept, homely bar staff...
Sleazy and grungy can be great fun as long as you don't lose your class or character.
The staff couldn't find class in the dictionary... probably because they would be look in the k part of that big book with wurds... klassy klassy bar. Good Luck.
