This place is climbing itself out of the hole the previous owners dug for the name Gosport Tavern. If you haven't been in a while (like within 2013) you have to try this place out. The (Chesapeake) is a Crab Cake sandwich on a pretzel roll that is amazing. The Fish and Chips will leave you so full you will want to skip your next meal. Don't even get me started on the drinks, they have it and they know what they're talking about.
Do your taste buds and stomach a favor and head down to Gosport Tavern for Lunch or Dinner.
I never went to the Gosport Tavern before it closed, but I am glad I went when it reopened! Â It's a great place like you'd find in Norfolk, where they serve great and local craft beers, extensive wine list, and other spirits to choose from, as well as great food. Â The owners know what works, and the Tavern is a great place to meet for drinks at their fabulously crafted bar, or for dinner with friends. Â I had the fried oyster dinner, which was delicious. Â My husband had the meatloaf which he also enjoyed. Â We shared an appetizer of calamari and fried green tomatoes with friends, which were both great. Â Great range of prices and meals, and service was wonderful, and knowledgeable about their beverages and food. Â Go and see for yourself!
