I'm not really sure what the appeal of this place is, especially with the far-superior Tortilla West just down the street. I stopped in with a friend one night and we had some sort of flautas special and a bowl of vegetarian chili. The flautas were disgustingly greasy and the chili was inedibly bland. Oh yeah, and it was expensive to boot. Their beer selection was ok, but certainly not enough to warrant another visit to this place.
Review Source:Excellent food! Fast friendly service. Really interesting combinations of tacos and the burritos are enormous and delicious. I only took off a star because of accessibility issues in the bathrooms. Couldn't get my wheel chair in the bathroom at all. Love the habanero mango salsa. Mojito was pretty good too.
Review Source:Colley Cantina is my go to for TexMex in Ghent. Â Ok, well, it is also the ONLY place I know for TexMex in my little corner of Ghent, so maybe it isn't really a fair fight after all...
About a year ago, CC closed its doors with no indication of what was next, other than it would possibly come back as Colley Cantina with a new menu or it would come back as something completely different. Â We got Choice Number One, which was a relief to me. Â For some reason in my head, SoCal Beach Vibe works really nicely in Ghent, even though it should not.
The new menu was worth waiting for, especially the salsa menu. Â Mango Habanero is one of my favorites, the corn salsa is worth it as well. Â Plus, you can get any of your favorite dishes made with any of the signature salsas!
This is also a good place to stop in for a drink, it is casual and usually a great place to run into an interesting conversation. Make this the first stop of the evening for drinks and appetizers, it will be the start of a pretty decent night.
They have karaoke here as well at least one night a week. Â Take heart, though, I'm usually out of town that night so your eardrums will be safe.....
