I ate here with my father and brother on a fishing trip in June. The food was fantastic for the price and the service couldn't have been better. Literally everything on the menu was delicious but don't miss the fried green tomatoes and shrimp. Great family feel.

This is a great spot for fresh seafood.  My wife had the Key Lime Mahi Mahi, which was cooked perfectly and fresh.

I had the Fried Oyster BLT.  It was a BLT, plus melted Brie on a ciabatta, and oysters.

We started off, with tortilla chips served with a stone crab, shrimp bacon and Swiss dip.

All the food was great, the service was a bit slow, but in defense of the waitress,  she was working by her self, and given the number of tables she had, she really handled herself well.

    I'll be back.

Cute place. Very clean and supremely friendly staff. The mac and cheese was slightly above average and very small. as well as the soup. We had stone crabs. The price was very good and they were pretty tasty, clean and all around enjoyable. I was not blown away, but I had a very good experience in general. They have tv's hanging and good for bringing people who like to eat and drink with some sports. I think it is just beer and wine right now, so don't look for liquor here. They have awesome t-shirts for sale and NEXT DOOR IS THEIR FRESH SEA FOOD!!! We bought 2lbs of head-on fresh shrimp for $9lb ($18). They were perfect!!!!  Next time in town I will give another try at the restaurant. Oh, and I think they close pretty early so call first!!!

Food was very good, service was fine, but portions for the cost were disappointing.  Particularly true since they "catch their own" and thus have cut out the middleman, and his cost, on their fish.  Equal quality at better value elsewhere on PI/Matlacha.

We want Barnhill's to startup breakfast again and they have. The food is very good but they have their breakfast menu priced like a dinner menu. The only decently priced item was Eggs w/bacon or sausage or ham w/ grits or potatoes and toast $6.00 with $2.00 coffee that $8.00 for Breakfast. The Eggs Benedict was $10.00 the Shrimp and grits $12.00.again with another $2.00 for coffee. The owners should try some other local places for breakfast and check the prices. I love Barnhill for seafood, and I would love to make it one of my regular places for breakfast, but I will not recommend it for breakfast and I will not go back for breakfast due to pricing.

This is the Best kept Secret in Matlacha-Pine Island.A family owned and operated business that has always been on the wholesale side of the fishing industry. They have been open a short time on the retail side of things but they have made great strides in a hurry.Happy Hour is 3-6 and you can get real fresh oysters from northern Florida.I tried their Blue Crab Fingers and they were Awesome!!The owner Eddie is very hands on and always has a good fishing story to tell. This is not your typical unload the pre-packaged food and throw it in the frier type of food.I have eaten Seafood all over the world and everything coming out of the kitchen seems to be fresh.
My friend tried the Special of Ribeye and Shrimp and said it was very good.
Right now the locals know about this place, but come season they are going to need more chairs at there already 25 seat bar which has been wrapped to show the local waters.
My suggestion is when you come to this little piece of Old Florida to check out the art or fishing,Stop by this place for good service and Great Seafood.

Great new little spot.  Used to get my stone crab claws from them back when you had to pull up to the open air spot they had down the street, then they opened the little market, and now the restaurant.  I love this little place.  $6 for a dozen raw oysters during happy hour, and they were real good.  Even for summer.  Sweet and briny.  Also had a po-boy....crisp fresh shrimp.  Living in the Cape...I live for places like this.  Check it out...you will like it.

Absolutely fabulous FRESH seafood, it doesn't get any better !  A very reasonable price.

Raw oyster "happy hour" every day 3-6pm - six bucks a dozen and they are so plump, fresh and tasty.  The mullet basket comes with generous portion of mullet and 2 sides, and is the best mullet I've tasted EVER !  The mullet special with collard greens and cheese grits with fresh crab meat is to die for.

The steamed shrimp tastes more like lobster - huge and tasty shrimp, served hot or cold with drawn butter.  DELICIOUS !

My favorite?  The fried green tomato and sauteed shrimp with creamy mustard sauce appetizer - I'm picky about my fried green tomatoes and these folks KNOW how to cook them !

The Barnhill family has been in the seafood/fishing business for generations and they know their stuff !  On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Barnhill's Seafood Spot a 15 !
