Interior is loud, uncomfortable seating -- I prefer not to dine while crowded together, sometimes elbow-to-elbow, with absolutely NO intimacy to be had. Â I would like to love Bartlett's, but just can't -- I hate being there due to feeling crowded and the noise level (and loathe haring or seeing a TV when dining out). Â And dining out on their deck, alongside a moderately busy little highway isn't appealing either.
Their menu has grown, thankfully, offering more choices for diners who prefer healthy fare that's not overly salted or fried.  With care, you can remain meat and dairy free if need be, though it's a bit challenging.  Classic Ciabatta contains milk, whereas Flatbread does not.  They could do a killer business with a small Flatbread menu that allows customers to order according to their tastes, building upon Aioli or Pesto bases, adding Grilled Chicken or Salmon, etc... (or I could go down to the corner of Broadway & Rte 12, hit the Rolling Stonebaker, then drive 1/2 mile to the lake and eat  at the lakeside picnic tables).
I go way back with this building, when it was a lounge called The Trophy Room, and then a tavern called Bruno's. Â It's just nice to see something there and thriving, even if I can't stand going in. Â If Bartlett's had been able to get the Pumps on 12 space, that would have been a winner for location, atmosphere, light, parking, and personal space. Â Wish the Red Lantern Inn was still standing and in business. Â Bartlett's would have completely rocked in that location!
