The Beverly Arts Center is fantastic. Â It's one of the best aspects of our neighborhood. Â The key to the place is its faculty--there are some wonderful teachers working with both children and adults there. Â What's more, their film series allow you to see films you usually won't see anywhere else (and certainly not anywhere else on the South Side). Â I'm really impressed with the place, and my children have taken over a dozen classes there. Â They've been able to interact with a wide array of other kids. Â My daughter has blossomed as an artist thanks in part to the sculpture and drawing classes, and they even have art camps over winter and spring breaks. Â Become a member and your classes are cheaper. Â If you are from the area, you really ought to check the BAC out and invest in it. Â I wish the neighborhood in which I grew up had such a place!!!
Review Source:I am so glad we have a place like this on the south side. Â This place has something for everyone. Â It's always clean, ample parking, friendly staff and has an overall warmth to it I just can't explain. Â My daughter has been doing plays there for the past 4 years and I'm kicking myself that I didn't have her start earlier. Â Kids interact with others outside of their school circle which I think is good, it helps with their social skills. Â They are with other "artsy" kids who understand them which is another benefit. Â There are so many things the Beverly Arts Center offers - I suggest taking a look at their website and also take advantage of their early bird registration savings as well as the annual membership - completely worth every penny!
Review Source:The Beverly Arts Center is a gem. It's a school of the arts, a 400-seat performance space that feels surprisingly intimate, an art-house movie theatre, an art gallery, and a true champion of innovative programming in this culturally underserved part of town.
It was a delight performing on the Main Stage this Halloween season, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
