I love being in the Southwest burbs... Â I have so many choices now for good pizza. Â That being said, Waldo's fits in nicely into my binder full of pizzas.. Â I don't have to go to the larger, more pricey, competitors (Beggars, Leonas, HMRI) to get quality pizza for takeout. Â
Yes.. Â Waldo Cooney's pizza is good enough to be mentioned in the same breath as those chains, but at a more casual level. Â
If you decide to try Waldo's, I recommend the thin crust... Â Waldo's thin crust pizza, is very good, lots of cheese, sausage and veggies. Â Price wise.. Â this place fits nicely into your budget. Â You can get a family pizza with a few toppings for around $20. Â
Individual slices are pretty good, nice amounts of cheese and sausage, a thick crust (pan style) and tangy sauce.. My mouth is watering as I type this.. Â You can get your slice in nice meal deal for $5 bucks with a pop and fries.. Â
Or grab one of the daily specials, such as pasta, or my favorite $.50 cent wings Wednesdays (BBQ or Buffalo), as well as several other items depending on the location.
All in all a great place to grab a quality pizza without breaking the bank.. Â Good service, clean location and a decent menu make this one of my favorite casual pizza joints.
Terrible service. I came in last evening to place a carryout order. Â I was the only person in the store at around 8:00 P.M. Â After standing at the counter for about 5 minutes waiting to order, no one ever acknowledged that I was there or bothered to take my order. Â The guy at the counter just stayed on the phone and acted as if I wasn't even there. Â I would have understood if the place was busy, but I was the only person there. Â Eventually, I just left without ever placing an order since I was never taken care of.
Review Source:Will NEVER go here again. Â Go to Milanos, Barracos, Fox's or Rosati's. Â I only went to this place because my kids like it. Â Ordered 3 slices of cheese pizza and told to pick up in 30 mins. Â Got there and they only had two, and while I was debating if I should just take the two the manager picked one up and ran outside to give it to his wife in the car. Â Nice. Â Waited another 20 minutes when they said they only had 2 cheese, would I like sausage? Â No, my kids don't like sausage so I left with those two and got my money refunded for the third. Â They employees were complaining that the cooks couldn't speak English and didn't understand anything. Â I'm all for hiring minorities but seriously, if you can't speak English in America and want to work you need to learn the language. Â Honestly I don't know how this place stays in business.
