Came for the Father's Day special. Dad loves their cold beers on tap.
Not a Gluten Free, Vegetarian friendly menu, you have to be creative.
Broccoli sides were tasty, 2 types of french fries, it's doable.
Lots of tvs, Â big and small tables available. Dessert looks good but not cheap.
Big bar area to please the man in your life.
Awful service. Had to ask the hostess who walked by for our server to say hi to us. He didn't apologize for not seeing us sooner. He wouldn't check on us and other people brought our food/drinks. To top it all off, they couldn't keep the TVs on the same channel so the one tv we were watching kept being switched and we had to remind them to keep it on the sports game we were watching. Frustrating!
Review Source:This is a great place to watch Football and sports.  It's a good idea to show up early to get a good spot. It will have every game  and tons of TV's. Its a fun atmosphere with a lot of Midwest and East cost fans showing up to support there teams that are not on local cable. It is very clean inside with smoking only outside. It's more of a restaurant than a bar. There are not a lot of kids that show up, but you can take them there.  I scoped out a coupe other Big Al's in the area and this one had them most and largest TV's.
I wouldn't go here for the food alone. It's alright but not great.
I used to live in a condo about 220 literal steps from their front door. Needless to say, I've been here a few times.
I love the atmosphere of the place. It's dim and warm because of the quarried stone and the booths. They have specials on different days, beers are huge. I used to sit at the bar most of the time, and the tenders were pretty friendly.
Recent visits have found the food to be quite tasty. Onion brick, really? Sweet idea. Bring friends to tackle that one!
Good place for kids, too, with an arcade area offset of the dining and bar areas to separate the noise.
Tons of hdtv's and a great place to watch all sports.
Great sports bar. Â Every night is a special. Tonight is Monday and everything on menu is $10.99 except market priced. I had the Al's House Chopped Salad with chicken. Sat at the bar and had a few beers. Reasonably priced and good food. Since this is off- season, not real busy. Loads of TVs to watch sports. Also have similar lunch specials. All CC excepted. Â Will return!
Review Source:Went for lunch. Â I had the baby back ribs. Â Lloyds heat and serve ribs from the grocery store are tastier and have more meat on them. Â The barbecue sauce was just lightly painted on top - probably after they were cooked. Â Another person had the angry lobster pasta. Â Not sure about angry, but the lobster was hiding. Â The third person in our group had the fajitas - they were OK, but nothing special.
Mostly I'd say the food is edible, but nothing memorable.
Service was ok.
Have you ever been to a sports bar? Â Then you've been to Big Al's.
The nice part, they can control most of the TVs individually, so they can usually accommodate you if you had something specific in mind for the evening and couldn't stay home and watch it so that you don't bug all of us.
Prices: typical sports bar. Â Great Happy Hour prices and that being said, you'll gladly enjoy their Monday nigh special of $10.99 for anything on the menu (not "market price" Â dishes, though).
Would I go back? Â Maybe. Â There really wasn't anything too special about this place, except they let me watch hockey while I was in Florida. Â Is it the only place in the area that is a true sports bar? Yes. Â And that is why I would go back.
This is the first visit to Big AL's. Naples  I usually go to the Bonita Springs location. Had dinner with a few friends. We got there early had a beer at the bar but only one seat was available. Two beers around $6 must be happy hour. This must be season lots of full tables on the main floor. People were friendly. This bar area used to be Hops, microbrewery converted to bar/seating.  The atmosphere was dim, staff looked sharp, this has an upscaled sports bar feel to it with, plenty of large and larger projection screens around. No outside seating at this location.
I checked with the hostess about getting a booth she recommended getting one early since they had the lobster special for $17. And it was going to be busy. Â After looking at the menu. We went with bowl of chili, garlic bread, salads, lobster potato, veggies, Whole rack ribs, fries and slaw, Angry lobster pasta. Everything was delicious. Portions in general were perfect, full ribs became two meals and only complaint was Coleslaw was so good that I wish it came in a slightly larger cup. See to go picture.
Big portions, Great prices, good service! Â I usually get the $16.99 lobster special. My husband and kids get the ribs which are fall off the bone. The wings are a little pricey $13.99 for 15 or $9.50 for 10 but other than that never had a bad meal here, and always lots of food left over!
Review Source:I used to frequent Big Al's for probably at least a year, or so. I would always go on Monday night, when they have the Every Entree on menu is $9.99. Good deal. Usually would order something for there and also take something home.
Most times, the food was good. Once in a while, there would be a problem, but nothing major.
However, the main problem there is the service. Well, service at the bar, which was where I always went. I would usually go between 5-7'ish, so the locals and snowbirds made for a pretty busy place. Usually on a wait on a Monday.
So, you can see, they had the business. Why they would not put enough help on at the bar is beyond me. They would have two bartenders on, taking care of a busy service bar, a full crowd of people at the bar and a waiting table behind the bar. WAY too much for 2 bartenders.
They were always a step behind. Completely overworked. You had to wait forever for things (drink refills, taking your order, silverware when your food arrived, etc.)
Well, I kept on going because, quite frankly, it was a GREAT deal for $9.99. So I put up with the problems, despite service steadily going downhill.
I guess what did it for me, as far as not returning there was the fact that I had been going there for a long time, always sitting at the bar and with the primarily the same bartenders working on Monday's. So, obviously, they recognized me and knew that I came there quite often.
They never even bothered to learn, or even ask my name. Instead, on the guest check/bar tab, for the guest name, the bartender would always write "guy glasses", referring to the fact that I was a guy that wore glasses.
I even mentioned this a couple times to the bartender. Not that I was offended, but that they probably should have taken just a little time to maybe learn the name of a regular.
Not that I wanted any special treatment. Not at all. But, to continue to refer to me as "guy glasses" on my credit card receipt just got too old.
I guess it the service had not started to suck, I would probably still be going there, despite the "guy glasses BS". But, it has probably been 7 or 8 months since I was there and will not be returning.
I was apprehensive on going to Big Al's just because of the fact that it's a sport's bar and it has all those cheesy commercials. Â But I'm glad I decided to try this place out! I've had the "ungrouper" sandwich with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious! It wasn't anything mind blowing, but the fish was moist and the fries were hot and crispy. I've also tried the Angry Lobster Pasta and that was good too! There were actual chunks of lobster in it and the sauce wasn't too creamy, which was personally tastier than the rich sauces you sometimes get. The service is ehhh. Last time I was here the bf ordered a beer and it was just sitting at the bar for about 10 minutes, so he ended up just grabbing it himself. The waiters gave him a mean look. But the other times I've been here it's been nice. So I guess it can vary.
Don't be skeptical and try Big Al's, you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Decided to check out this place on one of my last nights in Naples. Â
For being just another Sports Bar, the food was actually pretty good. Â My mom and I each had the "unGrouper" and chips. Â It was some other kind of white fish and the server told us something about it being illegal to fish for Grouper right now; so what are all the other restaurants in Naples serving if its not Grouper? whatever its called, it was pretty good.
My dad ordered the Rib special, full slab for $9.99. Â for the price they were OK, but I've had better ribs at Famous Dave's.
This place has great happy-hour specials and would would be an awesome place watch a game, there are dozens of HD TV's screens. Tuesday night the have half price pizzas.
