It took me way too long to get to Bill's, but I finally made it.
I don't find myself in Ann Arbor often, unless I'm working. Â Usually when I'm done with work, I was to vroom away. Â However, it was a holiday and I saw Bill's was open early. Â My SO and I made the trip in and met up with some friends. Â It was more than I thought it could be.
It's a nice outdoor space with mostly picnic-type table. Â Really nice ones. Â Bill's itself just serve liquids, but you can walk through the adjacent building to Mark's Carts and get some food, if you'd like. Â it is fenced off from the sidewalk, so any stray street folk are kept at bay.
The menu includes beer, sangria, margaritas, and wine. Â Some softer beverages are available for those seeking such things. Â The beer list is not really large. Â However, it's well represented with some excellent offerings. Â The only caveat I have about this place is the price, which can be a bit much. Â If this site allowed ratings in half start increments, I might be tempted to deduct 1/2 star for it.
Can't wait to go back!
Awesome! Cozy and casual. Very much a "beer garden" in the Bavarian sense.
Simply a counter with a good selection of local craft beers, some chairs, and a few fire pits. Right next door to Downtown Home and Garden. Good place to start the night.
Downside: no food. Except Mark's Carts is right behind the garden store and stays open late. Also, watch out for cold or raining weather, then it's less fun.
What's not to like?!? Â Fairly priced beer, beautiful scenery, packed patio, and dash though the garden store to all of the food carts!! Â We greatly enjoyed this patio vibe last weekend. Â It is just a GREAT idea, and has totally taken off with Ann Arbor crowds. Â We grabbed a tasty pizza from one of the carts to complement the awesome beer (love Bollywood Blonde!). Â I wish they would add a cider to the beer list! Â That's the only thing I would change! Â Check it out!!
