I was very disturbed by the Anti-ProChoice sign on the wall.  I do not go to restaurants to be preached to.   I could not judge the food because I was extremely upset that I discovered the sign after I order my meal.   They should post their beliefs outside so that people can choose to support their message before ordering.

Ignore the politics. This is a great place to eat. We had excellent, appropriate service and the menu had 3 or 4 fish selections, steak, and some good small plates. We loved the beet carpaccio and scallops. The Arctic char and barramundi were also good. The wine list is interesting on a good way. Looking forward to going in the summer and eating outside.

We also did not care for "the wall". It was a very personal story of not being aborted and a plea not to abort. I was not offended by the story but  it was just too awkward. It was like a complete stranger grabbing you and telling you about their inner most personal feeling. Like a car accident, you just can't look away. I never discuss politics, religion, or finances at the dinner table. So to have religion and politics and just general TMI on the wall at a public dining establishment set an uncomfortable tone for the evening. The decor is not really chic or relaxing, it seems to be trying a little too hard. We has a series of small plates and they were okay but a little bland. They all seemed very similar and nothing really made an impact. We did like our appetizer, I believe we had some type of mushroom crostini The service and staff were wonderful and the restaurant was spacious and well laid out. The signature cocktails were very well done. This is a place we may or may not eat at again. Living in Ada we only have so many choices close to home. But it definitely is not on my favorites list.

Party of eight in the "wine room."  Not much of a wine room really as colorful empty bottles are visible through frosted plexiglass. The room temp fluctuated between freezing and hot. Aside from the room, service was excellent as was the food. The beet salad was beautiful in presentation and delicious, but small for the $9 price. My halibut was thick, moist, and very flavorful - some of the best I've had.

Gracious service, clumsy food. The owner greeted us and made us feel very welcome. She mentioned that her chef had served under 5 famous chefs. My glass of wine was a carefully measured 50% of a normal pour. She explained that they also serve half glasses! The bisque soup was good. The smoked fish appetizer lacked the wonderful smokiness of the white fish spread that this part of Michigan is known for. My guest had ribs that were so tough and ineptly prepared that they were like old shoes. My halibut had no spice and tasted as if it had been boiled and served at a hospital. Our very nice server made the mistake of asking us what we thought. Soon we were visited by the owner and the chef. While they were very polite... it was explained to us that everyone else likes their food. The ribs were replaced by delicate scallops smothered in Szechuan chili paste... quite a mis-match. I see that the owners friends have bestowed five stars. Wow. Unless you are making your timid first moves beyond Dennys (and don't know better), save your money for a chef that lives up to the hype and delivers great food!

I've been to Chloe Elan twice now in two weeks - it really is that good.  For lunch last week with the girls, I had their grilled cheese, not your typical sandwich.. bacon, fresh cheese curds and tomato made it an adult upgraded version with their duck fat fries.  Tonight my husband and I went, we both enjoyed their Monday/Tuesday night Prix Fixe menu.  For $30 you get 3 courses, a starter (highly recommend the roasted garlic, it comes with tapenade, goat cheese, avocado and crostini).  Main course - we both enjoyed the ravioli which has shrimp and basil, candied pistachios with an aged sherry cream - who knew pistachios actually go so well with ravioli?!  Plus dessert!  He had the cheesecake but I had the flourless chocolate cake - which I can't even begin to explain how good it was... melt in your mouth chocolate cake with ice cream, it might be hands down the best I've had.  Oh and to top it all off, it comes with a glass of wine, red or white.   Needless to say, I'll gladly go back again and again.  Delicious!

What a disappointment! Wish I would have read the reviews on Trip Advisor before trying Chloe Elan. Those reviews were spot on regarding the attitude, service, quality and quantity of food, and price.  We spent $100 and still were hungry when we left. Take the advice of one contributor on Trip Advisor, go to Vitale's in the same complex instead.

The Chloe Élan has done a fantastic job remaking the inside. Very quaint, comfortable with an upscale feel.  The cocktails they had were great. great taste that was not too Sweet. have to say the food was incredible and the atmosphere fun.  The service was actually a little too attentive as we felt we didn't time to continue our conversation without being interrupted frequently.  The banana bread pudding for dessert was very good.  Again the only adjustment I would ask for is a little more time to enjoy our drinks and food.

Fantastic service, great atmosphere. Crab bisque is so good it could be an entree. Great fish dishes as well.

The bread service is lacking though. It's Meijer french bread with some softened butter and flavorless "herbed" olive oil.

The only reason this place got 2 stars is for the tasty food and attentive service, but I must deduct significantly for one aspect of the atmosphere that does not belong in a restaurant. When I walked in with my friends, we were initially very impressed at the chic feel of the place. However, while we were eating we noticed a sizable section of wall covered with several large paragraphs of pro life, anti-abortion drivel. A restaurant is a place of entertainment and eating where the customer pays for that enjoyment and their meal. A restaurant is not a place for owners to force their religious or political views into paying patrons' faces, particularly if you don't share the views. If you're pro-life and have no problem with that, then feel free to enjoy the restaurant. I will not be going back.

It was very good, closer to 3 1/2 stars.

Some interesting signature cocktails for $9 each.  We had a few small plates and split the linguine.  The linguine was quite spicy hot (which we like) but might be too much for some.  The shrimp small plate was six shrimp with a tasty chili sauce (also spicy).  Husband liked the beef kabob and we both enjoyed the buffalo mozzarella plate.

We had the creme brulee banana bread pudding and loved it.

Service was good.  It's a bit pricey but a nice new dining option in Ada.

Just visiting a friend who suggested a try at this newly opened spot. Walking in the place had a 'date nite' buzz. Definitely a middle age crowd at the bar that melded into several fun and interesting conversations.

The food was tasty, serving sizes are very small....u may want to stop and get a snack before dining here...the decor is bright, steely, and open. No beers on tap...nice wine list...friendly service.

Food prices are moderate but entrees do not come with a lot of sides, veggies. Even had to ask for some bread with dinner.

If I went back, it would be for the bar scene....lively on a Friday nite until 10 am.

We looked forward to the opening of a restaurant in this location. We waited and waited. We were not disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of the menu. The food preparation was excellent. Our service was spot on and attentive (a special shout out goes to Joey, our server - he was great - get him if you can). I thought he inside restaurant was a bit loud (as the sound bounced off the walls and ceiling), but my wife was not bothered. I guess I'm getting old ... Grrr...

We celebrated our Anniversary here for dinner on 8/19/12.  It was the best complete dining experience we've had in Grand Rapids.  We were greeted at our car in the parking lot by an attendant with an umbrella. We were greeted at our table by the owner. The service was attentive and impeccable.  They offer their own specialty cocktail creations.  The food was well presented and delicious.  The menu is inviting, varied and unique.  Everything including the dessert has their own imprimatur.
