Houlihan's

I ate here three times right in a row. The side salad was the best I have had, like ever, so I kept going back until the last time the bacon had a lot of fat chunks that managed to get in my mouth. Blech. I had the chicken parm which was probably one of my favorites of all time, then a chicken salad which was quite good. The third time I just had side salad and a loaded baked potato, which was also a delight and I was stuffed with just those items and couldn't even finish.
The service is okay, it was quite slow every time I have been there so I have to wonder if they are always slow and that would be disappointing as a server. It seemed like they were competing for tables. I hope it isn't always slow, I would be disappointed if they shut down.
Noteworthy is that bathrooms, very nice and clean and they have toilet seat covers, which is rare to find in GR, and it shouldn't be. That is a little thing that impresses me at a place. I liked the music too, there was a good mix of people, always some hipster types too, which means it must be cool.
The one thing that bothered me was we were there the day after the Boston bombing and they had the news on with all the gory images, it was disturbing to watch people with injuries during a meal. Stick to the sports stuff, it's less disturbing.

Our last trip to Houlihan's over the weekend was much improved.  Service was improved and while the food was better, two of our party ordered dinner salads and found them to be lacking in flavor and the greens did not appear to be very fresh.  The other meals that were ordered were very good.  A much better experience this visit.

I dined here on a Saturday evening with a group 7 and we all had a lovely time. The service was friendly, prompt and professional. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the food and drinks. I wasn't all that hungry so only had the Tuscan salad. It was very good and my only complaint was that there were only a few pieces of lettuce underneath that were pretty soggy, probably made ahead of time and sitting in the cooler. Not that big of a deal though. Fun atmosphere as well. Can't wait to return!
