Wont be back for a while as poor management has drove me to a bar where its not overly controlling. Ive been moved or asked to move my seat for there own benifit, more then once.. For the most part it depends whos behind the bar, but in this world of apps such as yelp and social media you better get it right. unhappy customer.
Review Source:Went for the first time last night with some friends. Â Cool little place. Â Pretty decent crowd (although strangely most the dudes in there looked like jack black - no bullshit lmao). Â I had no idea it had changed from that shithole it used to be in the past. Â It has a nice setup, Jukebox, games, karaoke thur nights. Â Talked to the owner Mike who was really nice, said him and his buddies did all the work themselves to make it what it is. Â They did a great job. Â I'll definitely be hitting it up again.
Review Source:Cheap, fun, and good people. The Blind Pig is always a blast. A hidden gem in Carmichael. Cash only but there is an ATM. Jukebox, free shuffle board and trivia on a Tuesdays. You can bring in food from the restaurants near by (the Chinese restaurant will deliver). Sometimes locals will come in and sell temales or set up a bbq outside. Always a good time. You have to go for a low key drink or a fun night with friends.
Review Source:This is a really cool local bar. Every time I go in they have different beers on draft and they have tons of bottled beers. Blind Pig has the menus for El Palmar or the Chinese food place around the corner handy and you can call in an order and the restaurants will deliver your order to Blind Pig!
Unlike some other reviewers I have never felt put off by the crowd. I haven't noticed Blind Pig was 'hipster bar' or a bar with 'bros in plaid and tight pants' etc. There's all age ranges and walks of people. Today there was a large construction crowd and then some older guys watching baseball and then my boyfriend and I (we are early 20s). I have gone to trivia here a few times as well and had a lot of fun! In the realm of local dive bars I like this place much better than Long Shot around the corner.
They have lots of options for games, foosball, shuffleboard etc. They are cash only, but they have an atm inside. Service is always friendly.
Yes, I was harsh on my first review of this place, but nonetheless I was honest. Â I am still not a big fan of adult men wearing skinny jeans or any boy wearing skinny jeans for that matter. Â On that note I have been on a couple of Wednesday nights recently because my friend Brian does the karaoke show there and he puts on a great great show, if it wasn't for his shows I wouldn't waste my time or money. Â Personally I can do without young hipster kids who wear skinny jeans, have their hair covering their eyes, and go to sit in a bar on a karaoke night and don't even have the respect to clap after someone sings. Â KIDS these day.......... Â I suppose it's a good place for college kids, but unfortunately the college kids are not going to keep that bar open, if anything they will keep what could become regulars away because an older crowd doesn't want to deal with such incompetent immature hipsters. Â However; that bar has a lot of potential granted it had the right guidance. Â SO I GIVE 3 BIG STARS FOR THE KJ BRIAN
Review Source:We ventured off the broken path to check out a new hole in the wall..we were two of three, but  it was only 1000 AM, so thats OK as it gave me time to check the place out..We know the bartender so the conversation was good and  the service was great...the place was clean, as was the newly remodeled bathrooms..had a few pinball machines and they do have a kitchen that opens up a bit later on but we did not stick around as by 11 PM it was a total co...er um guy fest..I wish some of these guys would bring their women out..it gets old having the only chick in the bar..needless to say..the Pig goes on my dive bar list..and we will venture out one evening and check it out and hopefully up grade to five starts...
Review Source:Great bar for young people in the Carmichael area. Carmichael is full of shitty terrible bars, and The Blind Pig is not one of those. Amazing atmosphere and some of the most attentive bar tenders i've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The Blind Pig attracts a younger crowd especially on the weekends, and event nights. Overall this a great place for younger people to meet up and have a great time. The drink prices are great, and the people are rad. I'm really happy this place was around when I lived Carmichael.
Review Source:This is a good bar, run by some pretty nice guys. Â I'm 35 and feel about 5-7 years above what the "right" age for the place is, but not that awkwardly so. Â The crowd is kind of a hybrid of the hipsters and bros, but not annoying. Â Friendly people. Â It's basically the Arden area demographic.
A few beers on tap, some of them pretty nice microbrews. Â A good mix of bottles too. Â
They need some bike racks, but I'm told they're working on that.
Pro-tip to the owners: work out a deal with some of the mobile food truck people about having them park out front to serve food on busy weekend nights. Â There's plenty of space in the parking lot and you'd make a killing.
I liked this dive on the side of a quiet strip mall. Â It was pretty low key for a Saturday but I hate when bars are packed and loud so that was actually a plus. Â The owner is really cool, the decor is cool, and the place is clean. Â I don't know why other reviews are calling it "hipster" because I didn't get that vibe at all. Â Drink prices are reasonable, about 5 bucks for a well screwdriver. Â I'll definitely go back next time I visit.
Review Source:i never had the pleasure of getting sh*tty at *Who Cares* so i have nothing to compare it to except my romanticized version of a dive bar.
set in an 80's strip mall a few staggers away from El Palmar, a nail place, Green Jade, a grocery store, and a few other local color hot spots, it almost seems unmarked if not for the banner with their name hanging above. Â you have your darts, jukebox, and maybe a few other things i missed lining the narrow space. Â the bar holds a lot of seats at the counter, but there's only a handful of tables and chairs so get there early if you're in the habit of falling all over the place. Â they even have a sparkly vinyl booth along the far wall usually dominated by the owners' friends retelling the glory days from their 4 years at El Camino.
my advice to other Yelpers... definitely beware of train wrecks!!! Â there's always that guy too drunk to hold his hands up but doing anything he can to start a fight. Â there's those girls giving the stink eye, smacking their gum, and talking sh*t trying to piss off another chick so her man can get in a fight with someone. Â there's the Carmichael version of bros in their plaid shirts and/or fav team hat puffing their chests out, giving high 5's, and eying the bar as they choose their victim for the night. Â outside you can bum a smoke, but not without a 5-10 min chat about who you know, who you're with, or who you're going home with.
it's a dive with weak/strong drinks depending on what you order. Â i had fun on new years eve c/o Karaoke Brian and my group of friends. Â we left by 12:15am...
*CASH ONLY*
*karaoke now on Wed nights*
I've been here and it isnt that great. Â Pretty much what you would expect from a dilapidated strip mall in this area of town. Â What really grinds my gears for the most part is when every single reviewer so far has 1 or 2 previous reviews. Â Yelp really needs to figure out some sort of verification process.
Review Source:Great new local bard in Carmichael! This place is located next door to El Palmar on El Camino and if you didn't know about it you would probably never know it was there as they don't have their sign up yet. They just opened this weekend and the place looks great. Very plain outside but the inside is awesome.
The Bar was completely remodeled prior to opening and provides a very clean and comfortable atmosphere. The bar is owner operated with friendly, attentive staff and has a good beer selection with 5 beers on tap and many more in the bottle.
I can't wait until they start serving food.
