I went here recently, and it was ok. I just got a veggie burger and tots, which were quite tasty. Service was friendly, considering we got there near closing time.

Disappointing manager reaction: Went in today for wings, listed in the paper for $.50 each during Happy Hour (which is also listed as 12-8). Manager refused to honor the price - because their typical WING happy hour is 5-9, beer is 12-8.

Really? I mean, don't get me wrong, their wings are good, but that's crummy customer service.

Running a restaurant is more than dishing up food; it's about serving people. Unfortunately, not here.

If I were not a white male, I don't know how comfortable I would feel at this bar and restaurant. The place definitely has a "good ol' boy" feel to it. The decor is not inviting and is rather misogynist.

As for the food, it's nothing to rave about. Greasy, low-quality meats are the standard. The queso dip was decent. I don't recommend the cheese steaks.

The service was not great. We didn't receive refills when paying and asking for them.

The music playing overhead was pretty good. I heard a Loretta Lynn song, which was the one redeeming moment.

I won't be returning to this local heart-attack provider.

Back at the Blind Pig after watching UGA stomp all over yet another football team on Sept. 17 and decided to try the amazing 'Big Daddy'. Well kids! It was something. This beast has pastrami, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing on it. Oh, wow, ....geez.....juicy, sloppy, nasty, stuff-running-down-your-arm-napkin-after-every-bite- GOOD. My LSU fan (the fair Melissa!)who accompanied me(WTF?!) got a beauty of a hot dog. See the new pics, Slapnuts.

For a place that spealizes in hamburgers I would have assumed that the burger would be cooked correctly and a better quality of beef. Tough and chewy. Clearly the "cook" flattened the burger on the grill leaving it with a dry chewy texture. Tater tots were good as well as the service. Better burgers at McDonalds.

not a bad little joint, cheep cold beer decent selection, happy hour drink prices during the week.  I had their famous fried pickles and the horseradish dipping sauce.  Batter was very cool, just a hint of cornmeal which I prefer.  The horseradish dipping sauce was awesome.  Will be back in town next week gonna try the burgers and wings, stay tuned...

The BEST quality of this establishment is the picture between the men's & women's bathroom.  Check it out!

Love Love Love the burger with the fried egg on top. Its defiantly not for everyone, but that's as good as it gets for me. And we liked the whole batter dipped fried mushrooms. You could taste the mushroomeyness in them, though I preferred their honey mustard to the spicy ranch they served it with. Good people there. Servers are friendly and

There are lots of good things on the menu, but the cuban philly is AMAZING!  One of the greatest sandwiches I have ever eaten.  It is a must try.  Basically, it is a philly chesesteak done with cuban spices and jalapenos.

Your average greasy bar food. I literally feel like my arteries get a little more clogged after eating here...but guys really like this place. It's low maintenance and they always have sports on...so it's a guy's dream.

It's really laid back so it's great to come with friends and unwind. Just be sure to go for a run the next day.

Great hole-in-the wall establishment.... definitely a staple place to go if you're in Athens.  Order the queso dip with the fries, it's to die for!  If available, you must try Greek Steak Wrap!!!  Wonderful!!!  Great place to have some drinks and watch the game or play trivia.  You can even get a reusable mug to take home!

Easily my favorite place to eat when I'm looking for greasy goodness.  Have not had anything that I didn't like (although my boyfriend once got the goofy redneck and was not impressed).

I generally do not even like pasta salad, but I cannot get enough of theirs.  Go with a friend that likes to share so one of you can get the pasta salad and the other can get the fries.  It's truly agonizing to have to choose between the two.

Word to the wise: Wednesdays are bike night at the Baldwin location (I haven't been to the new one) so I usually try to pick another night to go to avoid the crowd.

This is what bar food is supposed to be!

Great burgers, excellent Brunswick Stew and spicy wings.

Very low key place to get good burgers, BBQ, and beer.  I would't say the food is extra special...it is just another place to eat bar food.  :)

Good bar food, I didn't find anything on the menu that knocked my socks off but is there really any bar food that does for anybody?

Great location next to campus, plenty big for after football game hanging out, plenty of TVs and games for kids if needed.

Summary: Nice place to sit and get a burger or some wings that has the college town feel.

Burgers are huge, beer is cheap.  Very laid back place, we sat outside next to a man with his very well behaved dog.

We split 'The Fat Elvis' burger and shared an order of fried pickles with friends.  Burgers were flavorful and juicy and the bun and toppings were very fresh.  French fries were crisp and well seasoned.  I expected a little more out of the fried pickles, they were just okay.  It was an entire basket though, my friends and I didn't finish them, a little too heavy on the batter which wasn't a very good batter.  My friends were drinking PBR, can't pass up a pitcher for $4.50!

I'm starting to get annoyed by servers who don't ask how tabs are split when we order in a group.  I'm guessing most combine it to add the 18% gratuity, and then split it up when we try to pay.

A truly solid burger at a reasonable price+
Walking distance from campus (but plenty of parking just in case)+
Huge cups for paper-writing induced diet coke binges
    =A-OK by me!

I can't believe there aren't more reviews on here! This is an Athens STAPLE. Walking distance from campus- although that hill is killer- it is WORTH IT!!  Typical bar food, sandwiches, burgers with toppings galore, wings, nachos, and fried anything and everything... but they are best known for their FRIED PICKLES. And as every restaurant- lots and lots of beer.

I stopped by this lil spot after an early evening at Terrapin. Great bar food, although the burger sat a bit heavy in my gullet. Might have been the 6 or so beers I had previous to this at Terrapin. Cool environment, great place to watch the NFL playoffs that were on.

Oh, and how could one forget? The fried pickles RULE! They were really awesome. I definitely recommend this joint if you are looking for some bar food, beers and TVs.

This is one of my boyfriend's favorites.  A dive bar, not in the trendier downtown area, it's a nice casual bar where you can go for a yummy burger.  I'd recommend their burgers, get some fries and a side of queso and dip those fries in the cheesy goodness!  :-)
