Restaurant was okay. Won't be going there again. Water glasses were gross. I would probably go to Applebee's instead. Disappointed

This place is out of business / closed.

I read in the newspaper that a chain (Fuddrucker's?) was considering opening in this location, but as of now the site is vacant.

Mostly went here for the beer.  During happy hour (3-6), they had $2 pints of their own microbrews. You really can't beat that.  The beer itself is okay, some beers are better than others, personally, I always liked the Hef for a warm day and enjoyed some of the winter seasonals.  It was cool to sit out on their patio, which was heated in the winter, and was nice and enclosed and private.  The appetizers are little pricey, but I really like the spinach dip in the bread bowl, the fries with assorted dips, and the kebabs. Ate dinner here once somewhat recently and really enjoyed their cobb salad- it was HUGE.

I'm so sad this place is closed now.  Blue Frog will always have a special place in my heart, their servers were always so friendly.  I already miss it.

I love this place.  The $2 pint happy hour is the best.  The beer is ok, the food is expensive and so so..... VERY sad this place is closing down....  Get here while you can because this Fairfield Microbrewery is going to be gone.

I liked the name and was curious where it came from.  Turns out--per the backside of the menu--that the owners loved a song by Peter Paul and Mary of the same name.  I thought how cool and I bet the beer and food has a cool groove to it too...but no.
The beer was tasty but served waaayyy too cold.  Even the porter I ordered was super cold.  Maybe their neighbor Budweiser up the street has convinced them that an ice cold beer is the way to go?
The service was ok but I would prefer that your server at a brewpub type establishment  be the kind of person who you could envision actually drinking craft beers, or even beer...or at least be able to answer a basic question about the beer that they serve.
The ambiance was very warm and pleasant and the stuffed mushrooms we ordered were quite good and their happy hour prices are downright awesome--$2.00 for all their own beers!
We'll come back when we're in the area again --since there's no better alternative--but it would be nice if the owners felt the same passion for their brewpub as for the song it's named after.

Update:  just figured out the mystery--Blue Frog Grog & Grill is owned by
Landis Enterprises, Inc. who also own Marie Calendards down the road.

This place was alright. I came here for my birthday. Couldn't believe the prices. Whew! The food was ok. Nothing to make me go bananas. Atmosphere seemed nice and intimate. Will i come back again? Probably not, nothing special here.

I have been here a few times now as I've been stationed in the area with work.

he beer is good - proper well brewed microbrewery ale.  We had the Blonde, Hefehweizen, & Red frog - all good.

The food we thought was very good compared to what was offered in the local area.  So far we have had French onion soup, ribs, duck, white fish&chips and mushroom & chicken pasta.  All of which were really tasty and based on good ingredients.  Much better than fast food restaurants that populate the area.

Service was friendly and efficient.  This place has been a real savior for us - good pub grub and ale at affordable prices!!

What a depressing experience for a meal. This restaurant commands more attention to the design and MORE over the food. The food is sub standard my grandma's food serviced at the Convalescent Home tastes better. Most of the food appeared to be served for the second time around. The Ribs, Jambalaya just to name a few desperately need improving.  Not fresh or appealing basically bland. I pray that the Manager/Owner will take a closer look at the success of this restaurant and make some major changes in the kitchen.

Met a friend from out of town here and overall it was pretty good. The food, beers, and service were all pretty great. I had the rotisserie chicken and really liked it. My friends had the chicken fajitas and said they were delis. BUT the best part was the deviled eggs on the "recession menu". I would come back here and recommend as something different in Fairfield.

I'm glad I got the $10 Yelp deal. I would have been disappointed to pay full price for this food. Everything was overcooked and tough.
Beer was only so-so. A step above Budweiser.... interesting that they are located very close to the Budweiser plant.

My fourth star is one of hope - a hope for what this place could be, should be, and maybe is except on the night we went. However, looking at all the other users' experiences, I don't think it was just one night.

Everything about the places suggests it should be a unique, cozy, delicious brewpub experience. So you go in fully prepared to enjoy said experience, only to have it slowly disappear like the bubbles in old champagne as reality sets in. Can you put your finger on exactly what's missing? No, it's just an aggregate of many tiny things. But they add up to an average experience in a place that should be above average.

Ordered: Mushrooms appetizer, beef stroganoff made with chunks of filet, fish and chips, bread pudding. Son reported the fish and chips were good (the fries do look extra thick and delicious). The stroganoff was tasty and you can definitely taste the wine cooked into it. I thought the sauce was a bit too thin (maybe from all the wine), it splashes easily if you're not careful. I prefer a thick, gooey stroganoff sauce. The bread pudding was very nutmeggy and moist on top, but became dry and almost hard further inside.

Liked: The castle-like building, the really cool crowned frog statue in the lobby (which you are invited to kiss), the beamed ceilings and rustic inside, the food (mostly), the in-house brewing (although we didn't drink beer), the idea.

Disliked: The strange layout, the distracted waitresses (I never got the Tabasco I asked for), the slightly neglected atmosphere, the food (some of it), the cold fireplace that should have been burning on a February night. The dining area is separated from the main bar area, which gives a somewhat fragmented feeling. The place is so large that the LCD TV mounted near the ceiling seems to small to really watch.

Overall impression: "Owners' hearts aren't in it anymore." Somebody who loves this place should buy it.

Love the atmosphere here. Have tried several dishes and have enjoyed all.  The chicken waldorf salad and the chicken sandwich are two of my favorites. We always receive great service also.

I had high hopes for this place as it was my first time here. But i was quickly let down.
Our server started out friendly and attentive, but then after asking a few questions she started to rush me on my order... she assumed I'd have a appetizer as my meal! excuse me i said "start with" not "I'll have"!
Then our food comes i ordered the Blue lagoon cocktail drink (kinda like a adios) yum! and the prim rib sandwich. eh! meat was dry and had no flavor!
my boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich also eh! all you could taste was the BBQ sauce. The sweet potato fries were.. lets just say the ones at Burger King are much better.
oh did i mention that after we received our food the waitress didn't come back to check on us till we were done with our food? yea that happened.
maybe I'm just nit picking but when you charge $20+ dollars for food the service should be fantastic!
oh I'm NOT a beer girl at all but their Hef is pretty tasty..

all in all this place is OVER priced and the service is Horrible.  will not be returningI

Poor service and bad food...why would anyone enjoy coming here?? (sadly, the only high point of the meal was the bread we got before our meal came: delish!)

Your run of the mill, average, bar and grill type of restaurant. Sometimes you just want that mediocre burger/bar food and this place will definitely satisfy that craving. Nothing too fancy, no bells or whistles at this joint, but the customer service was great - our waitress was extremely nice. A nice pit stop for me when driving from the Bay Area to Sacramento. We used a Yelp deal and had no problem with it.

Beer - The blonde blue frog ale was great, I highly recommend it.

We (my hubby, daughter and I) came here for dinner after a few hours at Discovery Kingdom. Yelp had a nice deal, and we love to visit new breweries whenever we can. We ordered the frog legs, the hot wings and the Bistro Pizza. Along with that we had a couple of pints each ($2 pint happy hour and $2 off apps - can't go wrong!) and the kid had a lemonade.

I do want to express my satisfaction with the food and the beverages. BUT, the waitress that we started out with was terrible. She seemed like she was totally checked out - forgetting our beer orders and forgetting to place the pizza order (which left us waiting way too long for our pizza). Thankfully, another waitress took over and she was awesome. She was a great waitress and took care of all our needs as soon as she introduced herself.

The Beer was pretty good, however the food was WAY OVERPRICED...

Ordered an artichoke as an appetizer, good aioli

Mother Had Filet Mignon, was okay not cooked to medium as asked though :
I Ordered Chicken, very dry, unusually large portion, half a chicken? Come on...

    Service was Great
FOOD is HORRIBLE for that high price, Taste it before you serve it CHEF!

    BEST THANKSGIVING BUFFET DINNER EVER!!!

The Thanksgiving buffet at the Blue Frog was great!  They had, rolls, green salad, potato salad, all sorts of cut veggies and dips, deviled eggs, shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, fresh fruit, Prime Rib, Ham, Turkey, Fresh Cranberry sauce, Stuffing, Green Beans with bacon, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes and a choice of Apple, Pumpkin Pie or a Small Chocolate Sunday. All for $25.00 a person. Plus they brew their own beer and Rootbeer & Cream soda. It was very tasty. Our waitress was fantastic, always clearing away plates and taking care of our drinks.

We came on a Tuesday night. Ordered the nachos with chicken and pizza on the recession proof menu and a couple beers for 25.

    - Quick and friendly service. Food served fresh, beers served fast, and gave a slice of bread.
    - Empty. After 9, not many people are there.
    - Closes early. We left after 1030. They were accommodating and didn't force us to leave.
    - Food was average. Better ingredients but expected.
    - Where's the blue frog on the menu? lol
    - I'd come back for their happy hour menu.

This is a good place to stop by it it's happy hour. $2 beer. also good for a big eater becuase everything is very American size.

I had frog leg, Nacho, pasta, pizza. Everything is okay to good.
I also had a cup of coffee and served as a really big cup, it was interesting.

This isn't a bad place. They have good food, good service, and a good selection of beer. It's always eerily quiet though and I have never seen it full. Try the french onion soup if it's still offered. The steak I got wasn't lean at all

It has been a while since I've eaten here but I still remember it like it was yesterday.  My friend took me here for my birthday and I was pretty excited since I figured they'd have frog legs which I would've loved to taste.

I ended up ordering Rack of Lamb which was sort of dry.. not going to lie.  I got a side of the frog legs which was ok and the crab cakes which was blah.  The ambiance of the place was good, I liked all the tiers.

Parking was plentiful and the prices weren't bad but they weren't good either.  Overall, average.. not great but not bad either.

I always drove past this restaurant and always wanted to try it, for some reason I thought it was french cuisine.

Anyway, the food was OK. On the expensive side, bread was stale, the food was definitely not worth the price, small burgers, salty fries. Although the beer was decent. I prefer BJ's over this place.

From the exterior, it looks pretty grand. It made me think of a miniature golf complex-looking-game-type place. Inside, it's dim (even during the day). They have booths and tables, and windows into where you might see the brewmaster making the beer.

I've seen these beers at stores and I thought it was neat that the brewery/restaurant is in Fairfield. So, we gave it a go.

A heavy water pitcher and bread and butter was brought to our table. Bread was terrible. Like, it was old. Blue Frog Fries was probably the best thing we had there. It's beer battered and served with two sauces of your choice. We tried Frog Legs and their Brewer's Steak Sandwich with Red Coleslaw. We shared the Steak Sandwich and they brought it out already split for us! But, it wasn't very good. And, the Coleslaw was awful. AWWFUL. Red cabbage and peppers in a vinaigrette. Yuck.

Beer sampler $6 for 6 samples. 4 beers and 2 seasonal. Liked: Red Ale, IPA, and Imperial Stout. But, to each his own.

Aside from the deep fried bar fare, they also have full on entrees of pasta, pizza, seafood, and specialties that pretty much covered everything.. Even duck. These were all at prices you would find at other novelty places like TGI Fridays. Pricey, IMO. They did, however, have a "Recession Busters" list of food that was much like Happy Hour food with mini burgers, nachos, etc. And they do have a "Hoppy Hour"..

    Service was really good.

I think they try to offer too much.. a little of everything and it sucked.

Plain cheese personal pizza was delicious. My wife had the fajitas which were also wonderful. Try the frogarita it was awesome.

Be prepared to spend some money going into this place. Our lunch with two drinks each came out to 105.00 including a 20% tip.

Coleslaw is NOT suppose to have Red & Green Bell peppers in it!  It was digusting.
The service was slow and my Pulled Pork sandwich tasted like it had been in the refrigerator too long!  I won't be going back!

Food:  We LOVE the rib eye steak here, it's so flavorful and juicy.  They also give you bread before your meal comes, and this bread is my favorite restaurant freebie bread.. It's so soft & moist inside and crusty outside.  Unfortunately, I cannot rate the beer since I don't really drink it much.  I do like that they have a beer sampler which is fun to try with a friend.

Service:  The staff are always polite and attentive.  The food comes out at a reasonable time.

Value:  It is pricey for us, compared to the other places we go, but my boyfriend & I love to go here for special occasions because of the atmosphere..

Atmosphere:  The dimmed lighting makes it feel cozy & romantic.. and I LOVE the smell in there.. not quite sure how to describe it, but it's like a smoky smell.. maybe from the giant fireplace in there?  Very clean dining area & bathroom.

I read other reviews and decided to give them a try anyway.
SUmmary: It's bar food, not restaurant food

    I ordered their IPA
    Nice bite and smooth finish
I noticed a good scotch supply, although I didn't participate

I ordered the bone in spare ribs - they were OUT
So I ordered "Pan Seared Rack of lamb"
I commented to the bartender, 'how do you pan sear a rack of lamb...?'
SHe explained the rack was cut into individual chops....
    I also ordered Wedge Salad

    Wedge was nice
Real eggs, real bacon, nice ranch dressing

Chops were pan seared and well done
    (I ordered med)
I'm pretty sure they were pre-cooked and reheated by the searing
Not much in the way of spices - a hint of rosemary

Mashed potatoes were advertised as garlic mashed
No garlic, but they were tasty

    String Beans were horrible

Did I mention thee beer was good?

We made a wrong turn and ended up in the parking lot.  I looked on Yelp and said, this looks interesting.

We had the ribs and 2 of their beer - the Hefeweizen was outstanding.  The ribs were tender and flavorful, but they could do with a bit less of the sweet BBQ sauce.  Coleslaw was light and not very mayonnaise laden.  The bread was just ok, maybe it was the weather but it seemed stale.

We sat in the restaurant, the place was clean and the service was outstanding.

We just stopped in for drinks so my review is only based on that. We each got a beer sampler and here's what I thought (disclaimer: I prefer malt over hops):

Hefeweizen: Good. Not outstanding, plain and drinkable
Blonde Ale: OK. Had a citrusy taste (specifically grapefruit, which I don't like)
IPA: Meh (again, not a hops fan)
Red Ale: Good. Had slight caramel/brown sugar undertones
DIPA: Still meh, but it *was* smoother than the IPA
Oatmeal Stout: Yum! The one beer I'd happily order again

Overall our experince there was fine but sadly it can be summed up in two words... the two words my sister said as we walked out: Inconsequential Beer.

We REALLY enjoyed eating here. It is tucked away a bit in the parking area and it is easy to miss it, although it is visible from the road. We often would notice it when leaving the mall and say, "Next time".

Parking at two nearby restaurants was insane and I am so glad I remembered the Frog! The service was excellent with lots of smiles. Great sweet potato fries started us off while they prepared two salads.   Southwest chicken and a Cobb. The chicken in both was warm and succulent. Not being a fan of white meat, I usually get the Cobb so it can be mixed in with the dressing and all of the other flavors but it was so juicy and flavorful I ate it by itself.

There was quite a large selection on the menu and when I am feeling adventurous, I will try the frog's legs! I am not a beer drinker at all but they have a nice wine list. I had a German Riesling that was outstanding. (sorry I don't remember the label)

All in all, I am excited to have a new restaurant when I am shopping in Fairfield. Lots of new things to try ;-)

    Happy Hour: YES
    Not Happy Hour: PASS

$2 Pints and $2 off appetizers was enough to make happy hour enjoyable.  Here are the highlights:
-Blue Frog Fries - delicious!  Comes with some different dipping sauces. My personal fave is the chipotle mayo of course
-Stuffed Mushrooms - the spinach and artichoke filling tastes way better in the mushroom than it does in the dip on its own.

And well... that was about it for me.  Didn't try the frog legs (sorry, not quite that adventurous yet!).

For the price of the actual food, I don't know if I'd really go there to eat other than during happy hour.

The food is not that bad and their beer is acceptable. I have been here twice and it hasn't really impress me but it's a good choice to very from my usual brewery around here so it's just fine. The service is friendly and quick and the price is not that bad specially if you use the yelp deal.

I had the stuffed tuna and it was a very decent salad to the point that I finished all. I didn't know it was a salad so I was kind of disappointed when it was brought to the table but I ate it all still. To accompany my meal I had a Red and I really liked.
