I visited Blue Mountain Beer with my friend who purchased a Beer/Hot Dog Combo via Groupon. After reading the reviews I was eager to accompany her as I do enjoy a good Craft Beer and Hot Dog! Sadly, Blue Mountain Beer had neither. What a deception. The place itself appeared run down, small and shabby. The "Beer Garden" is deceitful; an overgrown side yard in desperate need of attention decorated with old withered picnic tables.
The service was absurd. The Hot Dog/Beer Combo my friend had purchased did not exist. She was given many different reasons as to why the Groupon offer could not be fulfilled, none of which seemed valid and contributed to our feeling of immense awkwardness. (For those unfamiliar with Groupon it is a website utilized by companies to attract new business by offering  pre-paid specials. In this case, an offer Blue Mountain created, collected on, and could not deliver on.) Highly unprofessional since the only employee I saw claimed to be the owner. YIKES!
We reluctantly stayed opting to give the establishment a chance to impress us with the beer selection. Alas.... that was not the case. The Beer selection was humorous. Blue Mountain "Beer" had only 1 beer on tap and no more than 4 bottled beer choices. How astonishing! Most patrons have more options at home, which is where I had wish I stayed.
This place was the biggest disappointment -we read all the great reviews how nice the owner is and how well people are treated , the great german beer and attmosphere -Well  we felt insulted .we were treated very rudly and as for german -germany does not only consist of munich and octoberfest -no the place was nothing german extremly unfriendly the german sausage -what a skinny" 99 cent " looking and tasting hotdog .In all fairness the beer tasted good.  We heard the ownership recently changed -perhaps thats the problem?  We would not go back to many other great places out there where  you can get great beer and -oh what a concept- be treated well  also !
Review Source:Like you will read in the other reviews, don't think of this place as a bar just because they serve beer. Â This is a place for socializing. Â The owner is very personable and will remember you by name after only a couple visits. Â There is a very laid back atmosphere here, where people just come to catch up with friends, or make conversation with other lovers of great beers.
The Beers
The main focus here is great German beers, but also carry a good selection of craft brews, mostly from California. Â If you are looking for your usual restaurant domestics, you won't find them here. Â Everything here is of top notch quality. Â There are 3 taps that rotate weekly and the bottled beer selection change as well.
Weihenstephaner, Erdinger, Ayinger, Spaten, etc., are some of the German breweries you will most likely see, with different brews from each. Â
Green Flash, Flying Dog, Mission Brewing and Lost Coast are some examples from American craft brews they usually carry in bottle form.
The Biergarten
There is a bar area to sit at, as well as a long bench indoors, but my favorite place to hang out is outside in the biergarten. Â It is equipped with a few benches with covering from umbrellas, and there are also some other patio chairs. Â This area is fenced in and smoking is allowed in the biergarten. Â
The Entertainment
On occasion, (once a month maybe), they will have events and entertainment on the weekend. Â Live music from different types of bands have played in the biergarten. Â There has been events with food vendors, like a taco stand, (not German, I know). Â There was a St Patrick's Day event earlier this year, and Oktoberfest is coming. Â From what I understand, Oktoberfest will be a multi-week event. Â I'm on the e-mail list waiting for more information on that.
The Food
As far I know, they have frankfurters and some kind of sandwich. Â I have never eaten either, but looked good. Â
The Pricing
These beers are not or ordinary brews from your local tavern, these are all high quality beers. Â That being said, the pricing is moderate. Â Expect to pay a buck or two more than your dive bar beer and get something worthy of hitting your taste buds.
The Conclusion
Great place, great beer, great people. Â Get in there and try it for yourself, even if you are a light beer person. Â Explore a little and find your new favorite beer.
I LOVE this place! Â The owners are fantastic, super-nice and passionate about some german beer. Â I love the atmosphere, everyone is laid-back and conversing without the typical loud bar scene. Â I can't get enough Dunkel, so keep it coming! Â It is so hard to find around here. Â Every day can be Oktoberfest at the BMBC!
Review Source:"Yea bro let's go get some cheap, watered down beer and get hammered cuz it's GUY'S NIGHT"
"Oh my gosh, ladies. Let's totally get all dressed up and go somewhere and order Cosmos and talk about boys"
If any of your conversations start out like this, Blue Mountain Beer Company is not where you should go. This is a place for people that appreciate a fine pilsner or Hefeweissen (sp?). The ambience is cool. Almost feels like you're hanging out in your neighbor's yard, enjoying wonderful brews, and taking in the view of the Blue Mountains. The beers are rotated which means you can always try something new and since the majority of their beers aren't ones you can find at your local grocery store, run of the mill watering hole, or big name restaurant/brewery, you're able to expand your Hops horizons.
You can tell the owners are passionate about beer (who doesn't love people that are passionate about booze?) because they will engage you in conversation over the origin of the beer you're enjoying (because you know better than to chug a IPA) or how it was brewed. They also have great events so it's wise to make this place a part of your favorites rotation.
So, to recap, if you and your faux-hawked crew of bros are looking for somewhere to play beer pong this isn't your best bet. Try that place where the servers wear the flare.
But, if you are in the mood for great beer, great people, and great times stop in and tell them I sent you. Not that it means something, I've just always wanted to say that:)
This is NOT your typical bar. Â In-fact, I wouldn't call it a bar at all so you have to know that before giving it a try. Â I would call it more of a tasting room vibe and a beer garden. Â This is the perfect place to relax with a friend and a good gourmet beer. Â The owners are friendly and up for conversation. Â The beers on tap change every so often, which I like. Â Not the place to get your run-of-the-mill Bud or Miller beer because, well they don't have it. Â The prices are very reasonable (higher alcohol content and taller glasses), and they even have a beer garden outside with a nice grass area with picnic tables and a BBQ for grilling. Â You can bring your own food! Â I LOVE that! Â Although, they regularly have brats/sausages available throughout the day.
I haven't tried the wines or any of the bottled beer yet but the owners seem to supply only the best. Â Go check it out for yourself.
Primarily a gourmet-beer bar, but with a different approach than most. The beers are mostly German pilseners, dunkels, hefeweizeins, and the like with one tap dedicated to a local micro or nano (IPA, Pale Ale, Brown). All kegged beers rotate on a regular basis (3 taps), but there are bottles as well, which are a mix of other German-based beers (bocks, dunkels, Continental Pils, fruit ales and German desert wines).
The food is lite bar-faire (there is no kitchen yet)--sausages, chips, pretzels, and peanuts. The food is really there as a sideline to the beer.
There is hope of this place doing a bit of nano-brewing in the future, and they have even hosted a couple of free homebrew tastings to encourage those learning about good beer (and those who already do love beer) to become more involved in the local beer scene that is developing in the Inland Empire.
