It was an okay experience, but I prefer other places in downtown Redlands.

We entered through the outside and I thought it was interesting that it was half outside and half inside. The bar outside said cash only so I went inside to order drinks there. I was with my boyfriend who was driving and didn't want to drink. The bartender said we could only use our card if it was a two drink minimum...what?? So I didn't end up ordering a drink because I was already buzzing and didn't want to walk around with two drinks in my hands. The bartender was pretty rude to us because I told him that my guy was driving and couldn't drink.  I feel that a bar establishment should take cards too, makes it way more handy for me not to carry cash around while bar hopping.

The bathroom lines were crazy long and the music seemed inconsistent. The bouncers gave one of my girl friends a hard time for someone giving her trouble so we decided to just leave.

Eh it was ok. Came here on a Friday night and it was crowded. I liked the music. But the drinks..well I tried ordering 3 different kinds of drinks bartender says we don't have that here? No Mytide, bloody Mary and Sangria my jaw dropped. Luckily my friend ordered me an Adios..it was pretty good. U don't really gotta dress up here at all pretty casual setting. Felt like I was at a a barn but it was ok...

I'm going to recreated my experience at "the boiler room" in my house.

Have a long line outside of my house.( with one or two bouncer a course)

Have 90 heads in my garage.(everybody else in the backyard)

pull out my laptop load up virtual DJ (that right top 40 to night)

have a line in my hallway to go to the bathroom(seriously I'm a guy 15min to go to the bathroom)

buy a keg and mix some drinks in my kitchen (the alcohol is the only redeeming thing here)

    Who down to party!!!!

Wow! I'm really surprised by the low ratings on this place, but whatever!  I went last sunday after checking out from a wedding next door and i really enjoyed it.  The drinks were cheap and strong, which is pretty much the most important thing for me when i go out.

Music was cool (Top 40). But what I really liked was the huge space outside.  Smokers should appreciate this. I don't smoke but i like the air; i really like drinking outdoors.  Cheap, strong drinks and fresh AIR!

Like i said I went late Sunday evening so there really wasn't a crowd there.  I talked to a couple people and they said on friday and saturday the night the place is over crowded and hard to move around.

I've been to the boiler room several times. I love it, I can't believe this place doesn't have that many good reviews but oh well -
The DJ here is MAD DOPE! I live in L.A. and have been to several clubs and rarely do I ever hear a good DJ playing good music. I love this place just because of the DJ - I don't know how much are the drinks because I've never paid here - My sister always pays :) but I really really love this place.

Horrific experience. The bouncers have allowed the -small- amount of authority to get to their head. There are many other nice bars in the area, and I would suggest  taking your business to them.

Just a bunch of immature children who get drunk and start fights. The security are no better then the drunks. All bad.

I like the fact that it is free to get in, however they water down the drinks.  The same number and types of drinks that would have me messed up anywhere else have me completely sober here.  Too few seats, too crowded, and long lines to get into the bathroom where only two guys can get in at a time.  The music was lame too.  I wouldn't have cared about the lame music had the booze been at full strength.  I got bored and ended up leaving early.

Just like this place. Chill and simple. The bathrooms do need work. Nice place though and heading there tonight with my smokin hot girlfriend.

A larger place to enjoy an adult beverage and hang outdoors or in.  When it gets packed like a sardine box is usually the time we roll out of there.  A mixed age of people, primarily in the 20's which can fulfill that 'what we are not missing' feeling.

Went to this spot after being at the Vault a couple blocks down, guess its the thing to do when you're in Redlands, hop from one spot to the next. This "boiler" room reminds me of a barn for some reason, just the look of it I suppose. It's overall a chill spot to go with a large group of friends. Music is good, bar inside is easily accessible, outside there are tables with fire pits nearby where you can sit and drink, dance, take pictures. .was slightly buzzin when I got there so dont know if thats why I had such a good time, but would definitely go back. .might just warn you about the long line since I saw a lot of people waiting, though I personally didnt deal with it, guess if you know the right people you just walk on in . .?

This is a nice looking bar with an outside patio in front, a big bar, plenty of seats and a dance floor. However... it's just not my thing. The music is wack, the crowd is mixed, and there is only one bathroom (one for each gender). The bathroom line can be long, with about 10-15 people sometimes!

I guess the upsides could be that the drinks are seemingly cheap (well, I've only had a Ciroc shot there which costs $8), nice area, and no cover. But with the overall vibe, it is just a weird place for me... and not my kind of deal. When it comes to DTR bars, I prefer the Vault.

    more like a 3.5/5 stars.

you mad?  why all the hate?

this place is a decent bar/club.  cheap dranks, nice patio for smokers and decent music.... what's not to like?!?

PUBLIC NOTICE: massive amount of creepers just standing by the wall looking for an easy prey.  Player please... grow some balls, and talk to the girl you wanna get it.  just standing there holding your fruity drink isn't going to help you.  very pathetic.

i didn't like how you gotta take off your hat/beanie to enter the place.

PS: i didn't check out the appearance of the restroom, but from what i heard... it needs maintenance.  STAT.

It was jammed packed the night I went. Think they were hosting after party for a wedding. Couldn't walk inside to get drinks. Stayed outside in the cold. They do have fire pits and bars outside. Crowd was filled with too many scene people. Kind came of snobbish some people when you would tell them excuse me. Part of why I hate big Bars like this people aren't friendly. and we aren't in Jersey Shore everyone so stop acting like them. Had an okay time. I recommend it if you enjoy big scenes and drunk people everywhere. Also the security Guards there think they are all tough shit just because you would stand on a chair or do something they would flash a light at you.

The Boiler Room has boiled over.  I've been a few times and it has gone from a pretty cool local bar to a sh*t hole that thinks Redlands is the new Hollywood.  Newsflash Hollywood is and will always be the only Hollywood.

The last time I was there they had some douchebag bouncers (bouncers?) That just had everyone standing in line for no reason.  I'm not one for standing in line, especially here.  When I saw them let more guys than girls.... actually they turned away girls, I was like I'm over it and left.

Id rather go to the dirty bird.

There are a couple good things and a couple bad things about this place.
So, let's start with the bad...  As a previous reviewer wrote, this place is full of bros and bro hos, but that is to be expected of all the nightlife in Redlands.  This is the hardest bar downtown to get a drink if you're not a girl.  I just don't have the breasts to get good service I guess.  The bouncers often think they are some sort of important authoritative figure as if no one liked them when they were younger and now they have a little bit of rejection power.  Oh yea, the drinks are expensive.

The good?  Well, they have a DJ and it's like a many club so, if you like to dance or are wondering where there is a more equal ration of women to men then it's a good place to be.

I for one think the bad out weighs the good and would rather go somewhere else.

This place is a hit or miss, and although it's full or bros, bro hos and the like, I still frequent this place. WHY? Cause it's the only place that has a dancefloor that doesn't require me driving out to fullerton or LA for. I've been here when it's super crowded and I've been here when me and my friends were the ONLY ones in the joint besides the bartender.. which is fine by me I have fun where ever I go, and I'll dance regardless if there's people on the dance floor.
The bartenders are usually good, drinks are strong, they're cheap, and the guy usually gives me and my friends free shots. Plus he's a cutie face.
They play hiphop most days, but I've gone here when NO ONE was here and they were playing some whack music so my friend gave them a CD with songs to play and they did...so we all danced...by our selves.. and we had a drunk good ass time.

Of course, there's the occasional fight, the bathroom lines are ridic, and the venue is small, but your expectations should NOT be high when you're still in the the Inland Empire.

It's a nice place to hang out with friends. The outside fire pits are nice, so you can hang out and drink outdoors! The college vibe is awesome if you are looking to swoop on the young ones.

Hit this place up on a random occassion, it's been a while since I've been here. It's gotten better, the inside and outside bar seem accomadating, service is pretty standard, I got my drinks fast enough anyway. They have a little fire pit and seating area, so that's pretty cool. The music was good and it was a decent enough place to meet people. Drinks were reasonably priced and made well, just wish it didn't use those stupid little plastic cups...

Good for a local hangout if you dont want to drive far. I came with a goup of friends on a saturday. It was our first time going to the boiler room.  We got there around 11pm and the place was gettin full. By 12am it was full to the max, you couldnt walk to the bar without pushing anyone. Luckily theres a bar outside on their patio but its cash only. The crowd is mix, theres a little bit of everything. I went over dressed to this place if I ever go back i would go casual. The music was good, top 40, mash ups, and little bit of everything. Drinks were cheap and strong, a major plus.
Overall it was a fun place, if i go back it would be with a big group.

I've gone here a couple of times with my man and his friends that grew up in Redlands.  Apparently, it's a total high school reunion for them, even though they graduated 10 years ago.  That's kinda sad.  Maybe it's just not what I'm used to or maybe I'm too bougie but it's just super ghetto here.  It's super casual almost like a back yard party.  It's crazy hot inside, the drinks are tiny, and the bathroom is disgustingly dirty.  I saw one girl go in the bathroom with like 5 guys...ewww!  Fear for your safety too.  I've seen fights here a few times.  The only bonus is that the music is good, hip hop and top-40.

    I can't believe I'm actually admitting that I've been here.  It's sad.

Used to hit up this spot when I was a student at Loma Linda.  This place is a hit or miss.  Drinks are definately strong and the set up is cute.  Large patio and large bar on the inside with huge booths.  Small dance floor.  I used to come here on friday nights and sometimes the DJ would play hip hop and other nights they'd spin some wack ass music.  Then there are sometimes when it'll be really empty, literally I've seen it on a friday night at 11:45pm and only 6 people in there, and that was including the bartender!  Lots of Loma linda students hit up this place. Definately one of the better bars in redlands but have a back up plan incase this place isn't poppin.

Seriously, don't even bother.  The restroom accommodates one person only, the venue is tiny (you walk in and you can either go straight for a few feet or turn around and head out), the people allowed inside were billigerent drunks and I can keep on going...

I'm not looking for an upscale or even a classy bar.  BUT I sure wasn't looking forward to people staring each other down or even WANTING to throw down (which I heard a couple of girls say they would do).  Ugh.  WTF is up with all these young college kids?!

Needless to say, I will never go back here.

Another local hangout, good when your with groups of friends otherwise it can feel dead because of the mosh pit that this becomes. If you know the bartenders the service is pretty good otherwise you'll need to practice your magic tricks to get noticed.

    semi-high bro factor - 0.5 star
    semi-high reunion factor - 0.5 star

bathroom lines can suck.. if your a girl, guys there are plenty of bushes just outside the entrance.

This place is getting way too crowded nowadays and too many idiots are being let in and in turn causing too much drama.

In one night, I have had 3 drinks spilled on me resulting in a wet foot/shoe and a total wet back and witnessed 2 fights. One of those fights resulted me receiving a cigarette burn to my hand accidentally because a friend was pulling me to avoid getting trampled on.

The only upside was being with good company and the semi-good music.

My friend used this place to supply alcohol and bartender for a host bar for her daughters wedding in the Mitten Building behind it.

    1. They had 3 different plans for alcohol and she choose one and the bartender didn't have the alcohol she specified and he had no idea what the plan she ordered was.

    2. He was charging everybody including us which one round of Kettle One was $18 for 2 drinks.   THIS IS A HOST BAR!  My friend found out later and was fuming.  He later did not charge...I think he was just pocketing the money.

    3.  Three people found glass in the drinks.  I do not know where the glass was from but the bartender shrugged it off like it was no big deal

    4.  They ran out of Coronas.

    5.  Host bar was suppose to be until 8pm but bartender started packing up at 6:45...until my friend gave him the riot act.

Definitely a "hip" little place. Noisy, crowded - the Boiler Room has all the markings of a successful bar. And no wonder - it has a pretty nice layout.
For the social butterflies, the outside area surrounding the bar is transformed into a spacious patio, complete with outdoor heaters and bonfires. It creates a very nice atmosphere to stand around and chat with some of the other customers. The camp-side feeling of the bonfires makes the setting a very mellow one.
For those of you who prefer an indoor setting, head inside. The Boiler Room usually has a DJ to provide you with some tunes. There's even enough space for a few groups of people to try their out their dance moves!

The drinks are not too pricey (when compared to some other bars down the street). And I will give you this - they know how to pour a descent screwdriver. Think that drink is hard to mess up..? It is. And yet it happens.

    So why only two stars..?
One star I will take away for the fact that they have only one restroom for women and one for men. One room. One toilet. Looooooong lines for the bathroom. You might as well leave, use the restroom in a neighboring bar, and come back - it will save you some time.

The other two stars I take away for service.
If you opened a tab when you came in and then decided to socialize by the fire outside the bar, good luck to ya! The waitresses will demand either cash or a new card in order for you to get your drink from where you are. So much for service...
Also, the DJ refused to play any hip-hop selections, claiming that hip-hop was for Friday nights only. Friday nights only?! And to make matters worse, every other song that was requested was immediately turned into a funky dance-mix, which provided the audience hours of same-beat techno tunes. Not good.
And! If you're a cute girl - watch out for creepy bartenders! One of them asked for my number and spent the rest of the night shamelessly hitting on me. It got to a point where I would not call it flirting - I would call it harassment. At the end of the night, my friend went to close the tab without me (since I was much too afraid of having to talk to the bartender again). Well, he actually had the nerve to be rude and demanding to her. He wouldn't let her close the tab until he found out where exactly I was! C.r.e.e.p.y.

    The moral of the story:
Go to the Boiler Room, have plenty of cash ready, and keep to the outside. It will keep you away from creepy personnel and will tune out most of the incredibly bad music. Besides, the bonfires are really the best part about the place...
