Like coming to this place mainly because of their chicken wings and garlic fries. Their garlic fries are to die for... So garlicky! Another plus about this place is that they show the UFC fights! Woohoo! If you're coming here to watch the fights be prepared for it to get really crowded! The only disadvantage to this place is that you have to walk up the long stairwell to get to the restroom! Don't plan on getting wasted if you know you won't be able to make it to the benjo! I'm surprised no one got hurt yet walking to or from the restroom! Hahaha! Overall... Great place for a good time!
Review Source:pretty solid little hideaway near Ice Palace. food is good, beer is well-priced, and there's pool & darts. service can be a bit slow as there's usually only 1 bartender/server on duty, but it's a mellow place to hang out with friends, grab brews and shoot the breeze.
get the garlic fries!!!
Service sure went down here.... wow.
came to shoot some pool and hang out, and they screwed up our food orders a few times......
i had ordered first - chicken wings, 2 flavors, and a side of fries. Â
Friend #1 ordered - french dip with au jus and fries.
Friend #2 ordered - club sandwich with fries
my wings came out, friend #1's sandwich and fries came out.... and then nothing else. Â
i waited about 10 minutes thinking that maybe my side fries had to cook still.... then 15 minutes pass... then 20.... so i get up and inquire about them. Â the server/bartender said, "oh, its coming"..... it then took another 45 minutes before my side fries came out. Â WTF. Â by then, i was done with all my wings. Â i wanted to have them together....
oh yeah, and remember Friend #2's club sandwich? Â that plain ol' didn't come out at all.... she's more patient than i am, and waited longer before asking, but then was met with "did you order that from me?" said the server..... she ended up cancelling her order.
she also had ordered a soda that never came, then tried ordering a beer which did come, AND THEN her soda comes out..... wtf? Â
i don't know what happened that night, but damn, things were all jammed up left and right. Â
i would come back here b/c i've been here before, and it was not nearly this bad..... but i'm hoping this was an isolated incident! Â b/c damn, it was bad.
This I think, is your proverbial everyday neighborhood sportsbar/dive complete with dart boards, and a pool table. TVs all around hanging on the walls, tuned to differing sporting events, juke box playing, regulars on their spot on the bar, brands of alcohol neon lights aglow surround you.
YUP!!! I think I'm in a sports bar, or maybe I'm in a dive... I dunno but I'm kinda liking it.
The drinks are really reasonable ($4.00 imported beers) and the food's also well priced, and made to order.
We got the chicken wings, the Texas Burger, and some sweet potato fries.
Â
Chicken Wings: Comes in 3 different sizes (the number of chicken pieces to an order) and prices, cooked in your choice of sauce coating, which by the way there is quite an array of sauces to choose from. Also if you wanna try 2 or 3 different sauces.... go for it! (no charge) We got the Brandy's original, the Garlic Parmesan, and the Buffalo. I particularly liked the original, though they were all good, I'll just say I'm leaning towards that one. I think I'll be needing more research.
The Texas Burger: Hand made quarter pound beef burger, cooked to your desired doneness, Gorgonzola cheese, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, a deep fried onion ring, BBQ sauce, on  a nice soft roll, piled high and stabbed right from the top with a steak knife. Perfect for sharing! Comes with your choice of french fries, sweet potato fries, or beer battered onion rings. Nice big tasty sandwich, lots of flavor, great with my cold brew.
Sweet Potato Fries: Hand cut sweet potato's, deep fried, salted piled in a basket, served with ketchup. Sweetness, salty, and crispy..... what more do we need in bar food?
Return Trip: NO BOUT ADOUBT IT..........hic;-)
What "JOHHNY s." is really trying to say is:
**I wouldn't recommend this bar to myself again because boy I made my friends and I look like complete hoodlums. Â We enjoyed talking trash to a random customer during an MMA fight which led to his uncle taking it out on one of us in the bathroom. Â I was really upset with the 1 security on duty (whom i was poking in the chest with anger not knowing he trains MMA himself and could've easily put me to sleep) because there were about 80 ADULTS in there and I wanted him to be concerned for MY safety ONLY, but I'm just being selfish. Â You really don't have to watch your back in this bar AT ALL. Â I don't even know who the regulars are really but everyone in there seemed to know each other and got along very well which I'm upset with myself for not acting civilized like the rest of the crowd whom are great MMA fans that always come out to support the bar during these events. Â None of the customers who I call regulars had anything to do with the incident but they wanted so bad for us to leave because we were causing a big distraction during the event which led to the cops having to get involved. Â I didn't even know who management was up until this point because they then approached us and asked us to leave. Â By the way, service IS very fast because I swear I DID recommend this place to "friends".** Â
p.s. Brandy's is a great bar! Â go visit! Â service is quick! Â Food is great! Â Bathrooms are SAFE!!!
I didn't really care much for this place. Â It was convenient because it was close to my working place. Â Don't get me wrong the service was great but the toilets weren't working. Â There were obnoxiously loud people there who weren't drunk. Â I'm not much for those kinds of things but I do understand that I was at a bar so what can I expect.
Parking: Â Depending on what time it is, it can vary between finding parking and finding no parking.
Like I've said it before, I'll say it again...*insert movie quote* (Man, I love being a turtle). I'm easy to please when it comes to kicking back and having a few cold ones. Good food, good drinks at a good prices. Laid back atmosphere, good company and service I don't have to track down to keep my drink filled. Brandy's for me is just that.
Go-To-Plus-1 Sly and I always (as you may already know) love to drink & eat, so we're always looking for new places to check out after a long day of work. So when it came to drinking she suggested this spot cause it was close to our job, and it's now become a part of our HH rotation.
We've worked at the Stadium Mall for almost a year and never knew this place existed. The windows are blocked out with fliers and so are the doors. They are located a few shops away from the entrance to Ice Palace.
The bar is dark; but not to the point you can't see the menu. You know a place has a local feel when you enter when all you see are tables full of neon shirts & green bottles. (construction workers). The noise level nice, I can hear Sly as well as the bar music without anything her yelling and me feeling like I'm in a some club.
We've tried:
Deep Fried Mushrooms which come with 3 types of dipping sauce. Ranch, wasabi Mayo, and what looks like their own special mix. It's a mound of mushroom and deep fried yumminess. You gotta love options! With 3 choices of dipping sauce how could you NOT like at least one.
The Frenchie's, which is basically a french dip sandwich with au jus sauce. Their au jus sauce isn't the usual run of the mill soupy consistency I'm use to, it's a tab bit thicker, which allows the bread to absorb but not fall apart. Fantastic.
Quesidilla: Simple. Easy. Sour Cream. Salsa. Guac. yummy!
We usually sit at the bar tables; located around pool table, following the bar toward the back. We've always been greeted, asked for what we'd like to drink, and given the menu with in a few minutes of seating. We've been there a handful of times, and only once was the service a bit "off". This is due to the fact Thursday is Biker Night. We've come to know not to go on biker night, it's packed and not really our cup of tea...(scratch that, it's not our "shot of jack". hee hee)
Need a quick drink, food and shoot pool all at the same time? At Brandy's you'll manage to do all three and have a great time.
My visit brought me here after a long day at work to enjoy a stiff vodka/soda. Thank goodness the bartender had a heavy pour! We didn't have an opportunity to try the food but would try if I was in the area.
If you have a  friend who's a sport fanatic, be sure to bring them because they will enjoy the the big screen tvs showing all types of sports. One warning: the interior is extremely dark with blinds covering the windows.
This bar is located in the same building as Ice Palace near Salt Lake and the stadium in Aiea. So if you want a quick drink, stop by and cheer on your favorite sports team here!
I have been to Brandy's twice in my life.  The first time was not memorable and I think I just stopped in for a drink.  The second time I went here, which was recently, I only stopped in to waste time while I was getting my oil changed at Goodyear around the corner.  When I walked into the place I was immediately confronted by a vile bleach/ammonia  odor.  It was overly strong, and I almost walked out, but I ended up staying.  Well, I ordered the wings, and was pretty surprised by the numerous varieties in sauces that they offered.  The bartender was very nice and attentive.  Well, I must say, the wings that they serve at Brandy's are pretty good, and probably the best I have had in Hawaii.  Just to give you some background, I am from Philly and am a huge wing fan.  I have lived in HI for 6 years and have never been to a place on the island that impressed me with their wings.  Maybe my expectations are low and that's why I was impressed, but I think I will go back to Brandy's again to try their wings.
Review Source:Came here for a girlfriend's birthday last Sat night. Â It's located right next to the Ice Palace. Â The place was busy probably b/c of the football game at the stadium. Â TVs on the wall in different corners of the bar. Â It's a friendly local dive bar with a pool table. Â The menu had good selections, we all loved the chicken wings in particular (they were large wings and cooked very nicely). Â You can order 3 different sauces to coat the wings. Â My favorite was the Jack Daniel Glaze and the parmasean garlic. Â Haven't tried the rest yet but I will be back to try out the other different flavors. Â The nachos looked very appetizing too but after the wings I was too full to try anything else. Â The bartenders were very friendly and accommodating. Â A nice local hangout place. Â I'll be back when I happen to be in the area.
Review Source:I'm giving Brandy's 5-stars simply because it's a decent bar in Aiea, they've got karaoke and we had an awesome time with our friends on Saturday night!
If you've ever tried to find a watering hole in Aiea after 10 pm, you KNOW that there are VERY FEW OPTIONS. We went to another bar (not going to say who it was or point fingers) and they wanted to charge us a $5 cover when it was completely empty. I replied "You should be paying us $5 to go in there!" We whipped out our Yelp app and made a group decision to go to Brandy's.
Located next to Ice Palace, Brandy's is not fancy and in fact, EXTRA DIVEY. I'd say the decor can be described as urban wood cabin. It's uber casual, they don't charge cover and karaoke is $1. It wasn't busy when we walked in after midnight and we plopped our group down on a few empty tables. To our delight we were able to get a song in the karaoke line-up within 10 minutes. There is nothing worse than having to wait an hour to sing one song! Thank you Karaoke Gods!!! My little bro was able to sing his version fo "Shake You Down" in style! Overall, we were so happy with our time at Brandy's that we've officially decided to make this our West side karaoke hang out!
#WestSide #Divey #Karaoke
Drove 15 miles out here for the wings y'all are yelping about, but I have three kids under five and did not realize it wasn't a family place. Â It's a BAR. Â When I hear "Sports Bar" I think Beef OBradys, kids menu, high chairs, well lit, etc, but this place is for grown ups only. Â They said the kids were okay, but it's dark and loud with only a few tables, so we left. Â So as much as I would love to try the wings, it didn't happen :(
Review Source:I must have driven by this place a hundred times on my weekly trip to Target. Â This time, we decided to give it a shot. Â We weren't disappointed. Â The decor is typical sports bar, which I LOVE! Â Dart boards and a pool table with several televisions tuned to sports. Â
My group opted for the onion rings, Jalapeno Burger, fish and chips and a pastrami sandwich. . . the food was AWESOME. Â Garlic fries were loaded with garlic, fresh and hot. Â The burger was absolutely HUGE. Â There's no way you can pick it up. I had to cut it up an eat it with a fork. Â the onion rings were fresh, not frozen, and fried to crispy perfection. Â Fish and chips were very good - fresh fish was used and battered in a heavy crispy batter. . . .
If its pub food you are craving, this is the place. Â Highly recommend.
waive to the owner watching everything at the bar via the tsuscebe cam in the middle of the bar... hanging from the roof. Â you might get a free round! :D
7'x3.5' very fast table. dead rail closest to the enter/exit door, the foot rail. juss gotta know what you're playing on. Â if you gotta chose between banking and cutting, cut it like it's hot! Â :D
taco tuesdays have huge tacos..... I mean... huge! Â nice n friendly staff
Living in Aiea my whole life, I must have passed and seen Brandy's a hundred of times on my way to Ice Palace, Jack's or TBell, but I never thought twice about coming in here for drink or food.
Thanks to all the excellent and honest reviews by the Yelp Ohana, my wife and I decided to give this place a try on our way home from work. For some reason I was craving for Chicken Wings, but since traffic was so bad headed into town and beyond, we decided to stay close to home...and all I could think about was the Brandy's Wings...
As previous reviews state, the decor is dark and sports bar like, so don't be deterred when you open the door. The clientele is primarily "local" blue collar workers and girlfriends gathering for a drink and pupu's, so come as you are...the menu is pretty extensive with a wide assortment of pupu's, sandwiches, burgers and yes, chicken wings. My wife and I ordered Soybeans, Onion Rings and yes Chicken Wings.
The Edamame Soybeans was perfectly steamed, the Onion Rings was real onions sliced and battered. For the Chicken Wings, my hardest decsion was choosing a flavor or flavors from the wide assortment of flavors...I setteled on the "Korean" flavor. Chicken was of the frozen variety, but nonetheless the sauce was very tasty and flavorful. All in all, my wife and I very pleased with our visit here and will probably visit here again. The service was fast and friendly...and the beers ice cold...
First things first: Â WINGS! Â WINGS! Â WINGS!
Okay, now that is out of my system: I have not actually stayed to eat or drink at Brandy's, but have ordered the wings for take out at least five times now. Â We have tried a pretty good variety of them. Â The Brandy's Originals were nothing to call home about, but the Parmesan Garlic is what keeps us coming back. Â They are ridiculous! Â And the sweet potato fries always rounds out our order. Â Delicious.
Everything is typically ready 20 minutes from the time you call. Â A couple of suggestions: Â Make sure they read back the order. Â Three out of the five times, there have been bizarre things wrong with the orders. Â Like three wings missing here, or two wings missing there. Â It helps to open up the box before you leave just to double check.
The interior looks like a dive bar, and that is not a bad thing. Â I am looking forward to a chance to come and relax instead of the standard grab and go.
Burgers and wings! Â My husband order the Beast burger topped with pastrami and Swiss cheese. Â You need to unhinge your jaw to eat this sucka! Â The side order garlic fries were crispy and tasty. Â I got an order of Brandy's Original and Garlic Parmesan chicken wings and they were the bomb especially the Garlic Parmesan. Â We got there before "pau hana" hour so the place was pretty much empty except for the four guys sitting at the bar. Â Our server was super nice. Â Totally enjoyed the food and watching the basketball games on TV. Â I would come here again!
Review Source:Went for dinner & beers while visiting Hawaii. Definitely the kind of small, divey, comfortable place in a strip mall by the Aloha Stadium, the kind of place that locals/regulars go to get out of the house. Just like the kind of place I would go to at home--can't put my finger on the bar it reminds me of. I should've brought someone with me to enjoy it more, it wasn't really busy enough for a chick sitting by herself to not look weird. Loud jukebox, pool table, darts upstairs that no one played. It seemed really loud for being moderately slow. Â Sad that they didn't carry any local beers on tap or bottled, but the price was decent despite what I'd heard about HI. The waitress was nice enough and pretty quick, she got a little busy and I ended up ordering drinks from the bar after food was gone. Oh, and the security/door guy was awesome, opened the door for me every time I went out to smoke! Ordered a philly with garlic sweet potato fries--yes, they do garlic, and sweet potato. It sounded good but didn't really deliver what i was hoping. Would have preferred more garlic, less sweet. The waitress came back to tell me they were out of french bread for the philly, would I like to change my order, but I stuck it out. The cook even came out personally and told me, "it just won't be the same, I don't want you to be disappointed!" I told them bread wasn't a big deal, so they brought me a philly on a sweet roll bun, it was actually not bad :) It was cute that he took so much responsibility and I'm glad they asked first, but it wasn't really a big deal to me.
All in all, not a bad little place, next time I'll drag a few friends out with me to have more fun.
I have tried all the wings sauces they had. Â All are pretty decent but the Parmesan garlic sticks out as my favorite. Â Their sandwiches and burgers are alright. Â If you're in to mood for salty get their Parmesan garlic fries, french dip or pastrami sandwich. Â For some reason whenever I go there, they're usually out of certain food items ie, wings, chips for nachos, or kalua pork for nachos. Â Their chimichangas on taco Tuesdays are alright for a ground beef fried burrito for under ten dollars.
Review Source:I use to think of this place as 5 stars hands down for a good couple of years but recent visits have changed my mind completely. Yes, the food is amazing and the service overall is outstanding but there is one bartender there who will not think twice on adding additional drinks/charges to your bill and then she will flip you major attitude when you approach her about it. This is the 2nd time it has happened and as much as I love the rest of the bartenders (Mel, Tina, & Jeremy), food, and atmosphere I will not be returning with my friends. This is no way to treat your regulars and it makes me wonder how many other people this one waitress has cheated other people out of as well. It is very poor management to report this and have it happen AGAIN.
Review Source:First time we have been here. Recommended by a fellow Yelper, we decided to watch the UFC fights here. The biggest plus is that there is no cover charge and it is free! Anyways, we walk in and its already crowded. The waitress was nice enough to tell us there were a few more seats upstairs that were open. We immediately sat a a table for two in the corner, nope not a good seat. We could not see the televisions. We decided to move upstairs. Super good move. There was a nice bar table for two right by the bathrooms in a good position in seeing the television. We were set. Our waitress immediately helped us and we ordered a pitcher, Jalapeno burger with onion rings and the Brandy's club sandwich with their sweet potato fries. The food was delicious! Super surprising. We got to watch the fights with great food and cheap beer. The cost of all of it was still significantly cheaper than if we ordered the fights at home. The waitresses were always checking on if we had our drinks filled and if we were okay. The decor is old and pretty much sports bar-like but it is clean. My biggest requirement. I would totally watch fights here again. The service and location is great. I rather come here then fight the crowds and reserved tables in town or Waikiki.
Review Source:I've been here 4 times in the last year. Â Once for a UFC fight and another for the Pacquiao/Mosley fight and the place gets packed!!
I live in town, and I drove all the way out (and dragged a few friends) to go to Brandy's!!
It's an old bar tucked away next to the Ice Palace across from the Aloha Stadium. Â When you first walk in, you might think, oh boy, what did I get myself into. Â But trust me, the service, food and beer are top notch! Â You just need to get past the dark and old decor.
Every time I've been there the waitresses have been very nice and helpful.
Here's my faves - sweet potato fries (cooked to order, perfect!), chicken wings (they have a long list of sauces to choose from), Reuben Sandwich(oh so nice fresh cuts of Corned Beef), Pastrami Sandwich (Pastrami is nice and juicy), Mushrooms (simple but tasty).
Once I did take out for a Reuben Sandwich and Pastrami Sandwich and the waitress asked me if I wanted water while I waited. Â I declined, but hey, that's a point in my book as it shows consideration for me.
It's divey people, but great if you're looking for a pretty cheap place with a laid back sports bar atmosphere and don't mind tired decor and smooshed down chair padding! Â That being said... at least the bathroom is clean!
There are tons of flat screen tvs and a big one that's leaning precariously over the bar. Â It would be a great place to catch two, or even three games at one time! Â
Karaoke is a dollar per song and people will interupt the music to sing a song. Â I like that! Â The music is very upbeat and a good mix and the food is reasonable and tasty.
We tried the grilled steak that is served with onions and sauteed mushrooms and the sweet potato fries. I always get sweet potato fries wherever they are offered, and these are right up there with the best of them. Â Crispy and tasty.
Only downer is that our server got our food order wrong and we got the spicy chicken breast instead of the steak at first. Â Upside, we got to try both and I thought it was pretty good...and yes the chix was spicy!
They have AmberBock on tap and two others. Â I think bud light and heineken if I remember right. Â They also have a full bar.
There is a pool table, several dart boards, and karaoke. Â That's pretty good for a dive. Â Brandy's is located next to Ice Palace, so don't follow the map in Yelp or you'll end up by Pearlridge!
Its a sports bar! Nuff-said right? Â Nah, they've got pool tables, darts and a super friendly staff! Â Through reading my posts I'm sure you've figured out that I'm all about customer service... Staff is cool-beans!! Â
Their food is flippin awesome!!  you have to try their Jalapeño Burger!!  Thick, juicy, sirloin burger covered in their secret house sauce, topped with cheese and served on a hot sesame seed bun!  Not to mention their generous serving of fries!! Â
When you come into Aiea, make it a point to swing by Brandy's and grab a bite to eat!
Based on the reviews I read before getting there, I was let down.
My first impression was "What the F did I walk in to?" Â The place is sunk into a strip mall without the greatest facade, and upon entering, you realize It's definitley a locals bar and they were cordial, but you got the vibe that main-landers would be more welcome else where.
The beer was cheap and service acceptable, but the food left something to be desired. Â Yeah, it's a sports bar, but when you order nachos that arrive without two of the five toppings, it leaves you wondering what else goes on in the kitchen.
They had a half dozen TVs and the obligatory pool table and dart boards, but unless you plan on getting to know the employees on a regular and first name basis, I'd go some where else.
Okay, it's a sports bar, dark inside(like one of those local dive bars), pool table, big screen televisions.... been there before for a pau hana drink and didn't think much of it. I mean, it's a bar, a sports bar.
However, my visit the other day changed my opinion 180 degrees. Nope! didn't have the chicken wings (by the way they have at least a dozen different sauces for the chicken wings). Ordered off the menu. I had their Brandy Burger which was flavorful; it's not just a patty, it's a seasoned patty and grilled to perfection. My friend had the club sandwich. He's a club sandwich specialist and he too gave the perfection sign.
So- moral to my review: I should never judge a bar and grill by its cover. Don't knock it until I've tried it....
Will definitely go back there again only next time, I will try something else on the menu.
Oh, the service was great also. Our gal coupled as the bartendress and waitress and never missed a beat
Ok...so I'm officially a regular here and I also play on an APA pool league here so I'm writing this as...well whatever...I like this bar, reminds me of a place I used to bartend at back east. Chill crowd and lots of TV's to watch sports on. Drinks are strong, tasty and cheap, they always have drink specials, how good is that!!! Not to mention they have darts both upstairs and down as well as one pool table. They have recently expanded their kitchen as well as the menu, now offering lunch deli sandwiches, even pasta and the bartenders rock!! Stop in next time you cruise thru the Salt Lake area and visit Mel...and be sure to have a Hello Kitty along with your lunch, you won't regret it :)
Review Source:I'd give this place 3.5 stars. I come here once a week or so after Hockey at the palace. It has Pool and Darts and i think they run a tourny once a week. they also have food and a buffet on monday night football and UH games. They show all the fights. Nice people there a mix of military and local contractor with the hockey people at night.
