I have to say this place saved our July 03, 2013 cause....Aloha Tower....was crap....so thank God we discovered the Corner.. let me take the back...the bf discovered the corner while he wander China town and I was working....

Got there, it was empty, but every now and then it's nice to go some where's empty, I'm pretty sure other nights this place will be packed....seated at the bar greeted by the bartender, quick and friendly......the bar was clean I liked it immediately.   We ordered our food, came out promptly, it was delicious, the spice was excellent and with just enough kick......  It took me a while to order a drink because I crave something I pretty much only want to drink that, and they didn't have Cider so no "snake bite" for me....however a pretty decent selection of beers and drink.....the best we were never left dry..but then again it was a slower night.....but regardless I liked it...and will most likely return again

    I highly recommend

I am giving The Corner 2 stars, although it appears I may have missed something based on all of the previous great reviews

It was first Friday, June 2013, I met a group of coworkers here after work for our "monthly meeting".  I arrived a bit late around 6ish.  The outside of the place looked nice, it is on the corner of Smith and King.  My coworkers were seated at a picnic type table and when I arrived, those that had food were all were displeased with happy hour food they had received. I didn't see these items, only heard that the portions were skimpy and the quality was what you would find at the concession stand at a movie theatre.  Nachos and sushi were served.

The folks also mentioned that their drinks were highly priced for happy hour, they had beer and wine.  I had a martini myself, it was fine, but not garnished, nor did they ask if I wanted any premium liquor and they had no martini glasses, which I thought was kind of odd for cocktail place.

We were given no menus, no specials were listed on any boards that I saw.  The place just had, in my opinion, no atmosphere or character at all.

Guess I may give it another chance, given that my review might be skewed by my coworker's negative opinions, but it won't be a place I long to go back to.

I bought the Yelp deal, $5 for $10, and I decided to use it to treat myself one day for lunch since I work downtown.  While no place in China Town really looks good from the outside, the interior is clean with simple decor.  I told some guy (who I assume was the owner or chef) right away that I was using a yelp deal.  He looked at it to verify and he marked it used.  So I figured he would see to it that it was noted with the waitress.

The recommendations the waitress gave were awesome!  Got the Onion Rings and the Spicy Ahi Nachos (they were actually a bit spicy)!  I felt that they were both pretty high quality given that I'm in a bar in China Town at 12 pm.  The only downside was that out of the 4 or 5 TVs they had running, I had to face the one showing The 700 Club....  -_-'  Whyyyyy?!?!??!  Anyway, that still didn't take away from the deliciousness of the food!

At the end of my meal the waitress didn't know about my yelp deal and charged me full price, but I didn't catch it until after she ran my card since I was in such a rush to leave.  I questioned her and she took my name, apologized for it and said I would be able to use it next time I come back.  That's cool though.  The prices are pretty decent and  I was planning on coming back to try their burgers and sushi anyway!
