The location and outdoor seating in the back make it a really nice place. Â The wine and cocktails are great. Â
The food wasn't so great. Â We ordered mussels and as the waiter brought them out we could smell they were old before he even set the plate down. Â We attempted to eat one but our doubts were correct. Â The waiter took them away, retuned and said he tried them in the back and admitted were terrible -
We gave it a second try a few weeks later (hoping it was a one time thing) but again we were served old shellfish. Â Kind of upsetting.
Again, great ambience for cocktails and wine, but be careful with what you order.
Can you say "Noir des Femmes?" Â My French is rusty, but this cozy, antique-y chic-y restaurant in Chinatown is a nice change of pace. Â You can sit at the bar or in the main dining room, but for extra romance, they have outdoor seating in the back. Â
The food was good, and they put up with 13 wild ladies! Â We got there early enough to take advantage of happy hour - $3 off certain cocktails, and reduced prices on certain pupus. Â The baked brie? Â I think this was the biggest hit as an appetizer. Â Stuffed with cranberries, nuts, and brushed with honey, the combination of sweet and savory was addictive. Â Another bonus? Â Dipping French bread in the garlic-y herb sauce from the escargot. Â I'm a big fan of their lilikoi cocktails, too. Â Not too shabby!
