Had a terrible experience at Brine. They cannot handle their volume and fix a problem when it arises.
We were kept waiting an inordinately long time before our food arrived even though it was after the rush hour on the pretext that there was a large party before us. When the food did arrive, it was missing an order. Another order, the monkfish, was under-cooked. The wait person said that she would need to check with the kitchen before it could be taken off our bill. The chef did indeed confirm that it was poorly cooked. The rest of the orders were of average quality. Definitely not worth the prices they are charging.
I would recommend skipping it and trying one of the other restaurants in Newburyport.
Good beer! However the cost of the oysters is pretty pricy at $2.75 a piece. We even had one oyster that was a size of dime - no joke! Â We let our waitress, Alana, know and she refused to exchange it for one that was more representative of the description within the menu. Given you're charging $2.75 a piece, it's a pretty modest request. Thus, I would say they is room for improvement for customer service. Look elsewhere if you're looking for a bite to eat in Newburyport!
Review Source:Another overpriced, pretentious Newburyport restaurant. This place is o.k. Certainly nothing to really over complain about, except that, for what you actually get, it's just overpriced. Don't get me wrong: I will pay for good quality, nice ambiance, a good overall experience. Â But this isn't it. It touts itself as a Euro-styled restaurant, but there are some key, key differences, believe me. Also, what's with the patronizing staff, as if they are almost doing you a favor by serving you? Ahem ... this is the hospitality industry, folks. And I'm the paying customer. So let's drop the attitude, shall we?
