I was in the Kennett Sq area for a wedding. Â My family was all coming in from out of town and we wanted to have a family dinner together. Â There were going to 15 of us for dinner. Â I was so worried about finding a place. Â When I called the Brown Derby they were totally understanding and accommodating. Â
That afternoon another set of family asked to join us. When I called there was no problem increasing our number from 15 to 18. Â
When we arrived on Friday we were off in a separate room, which was awesome since we had small kids and they could move about without bothering other people as well as we could be as loud as we wanted to. Â
The food was great and the waitresses and hostess really took the time to talk to us and play with our kids. Â
The price was really awesome as well. Â For 18 of us to have dinner, drinks, apps and desserts the bill was much lower then we had planned. Â
If you are in the area... this is a great place to stop and eat. Â I ordered the Calamari app and a side of fries for dinner and they didn't give me two plates (like I get a most places) they knew I wanted it as a meal. Â It was a nice treat for me. Â
This place has something for everyone!
Oh MY! Is the phrase that comes to mind. Â We went to this place about 27 years ago and had fun and the food was great. Â We looked at yelp and it seemed pretty good so we tried it for my mother n laws birthday dinner tonight. Â The bill was $160 before tip for 4 people (only 3 of us had basic cocktails). Â Â The local stuffed mushrooms were very good - large pieces of crab. Â Besides the stuffed mushrooms the food really isn't very good and its way over priced. Â I tried grilled seafood and it tasted like it had been in the freezer for months. Â My mother n law tried the veal and ended up sending it back 2 times and finally gave up on it and changed to pasta. Â In the 35 years I have known my mother n law, I have not seen her send anything back - ever! Â To be honest, we were embarrassed that we took my mother n law there for her birthday. Â We live only about 8 miles from this place and can say we will never go back - even if another 27 years goes by.
