Fifteen of us went for a friend's birthday to sing karaoke. Â Big mistake. Â They let five or six people sing, then had "open mic live band" for nearly two hours, with a constant rotation of various musicians singing lame, depressing "originals" and a few truly awful covers. Couldn't find a fork to stick in my eye. I think I only heard three songs worth my time. Next up were a few more karaoke singers, but wait.....the first three were from the "open mic live band." Great, now I have to sit through the same people. Hey, Dude in the Dale's Donuts shirt - you can't sing, so please, please stop.
Food was okay, but I've never seen a restaurant nacho with liquid cheese. The waitress was great at first, but she disappeared from our section for at least an hour and we had to go up to the bar to order food and drinks.
The only thing this place has going for it is its location; there's no where else to go in that area so to leave for another bar is out of the question.
Live bands and karaoke. Lots of wood, farm equipment and animals on the walls. This is definitely a country bar. The barkeeps are friendly enough. It's a restaurant and bar combined, side by side; I can attest that the food is good -- big city worthy in quality. The draft beer selection is plentiful, but it's just your typical x-lights, Widmers, and Deschutes; nothing too edgy here. A couple of pool tables and a covered outside smoking area. Worth a visit if you find yourself in the neighborhood; worth a visit if you're in nearby Oregon City as well. Not sure I'd drive much further unless you're looking to get your country on. :)
