A tavern located near the 5 points intersection. A very casual atmosphere, with a few TVs, a full bar and various tables. A bit dated, with very good service. The food is similar to any other pub food, good but not great. Did not have any deserts, but have heard they are quite good. Would not go out of my way to go here, but if in the area might eat there again, as it is not as busy as other places.
Review Source:The Bull! Â Great place for a cheeseburger. Â Bartender is real throwback, probably been there for 20 years. Â Reminds me of some places my dad and I used to go. Â Not real fancy or trendy by any means but worth a trip. Â Good solid little spot with atmosphere that reminds me of home.
Review Source:I believe The Bull fancies itself a bit of a sports bar. Â They've got the nice flat TVs right behind the bar for easy viewing and a grill for frying up the cheese steaks is only an arms reach away. Â Somewhere along the way though, they have missed the mark and seem to struggle between being a sports bar and a restaurant. Â After all, there are ample table in the front section awaiting patrons, but most seem to want to nestle in back or belly right up to the bar. Â The prices are right and the food quality about mediocre, all in all not a bad joint to grab a beer and sandwich. Â I just don't think anyone really goes here for any type of real dining experience.
Review Source:The Bull to me is your typical 'towny' resturant/bar. I've been there many times, but am never really impressed with the food; which is kind of bland. They really don't have any signature dishes or memorable flavors worthy of me wanting to come back. Â And since they don't change their menu that often, that is expected. As far as the bar goes, it mainly attracts the older crowd, and thus mainly stocks only your tasteless beer such as miller, Coors, etc aside from the standard Yuengling. Â
However if your looking for just some simple food and a beer, this is your place to go. Prices are reasonable and staff is standard.
The Bull Restaurant & Tavern is an excellent place to have dinner. I've been here with family several times. Parking is easy, the venue is roomy, inexpensive, and informal, and their service is consistently friendly. Their menu is solid and varied, with tasty pasta and seafood choices.
For some reason I had thought they were called the Bull & Barrel, but perhaps that's an alias or old name. In any case, if you're interested in trying them out, find this place across the street from the Water Tower Square shopping center (there's a Home Depot there).
