Good menu selection for lunch. I ordered the fried pickles as an app and they were some of the best fried pickles I've had in the area. However, my lump crab cake has larger pieces of celery than crab. It smelled like bad seafood, was watery, and too much filler. Thankfully management was understanding and took it off the bill. I'd go back and give them a second chance.
Review Source:I want to like this place much more than I do! Â For one thing, it's a local, non chain place. Really nice and comfortable interior, huge booths and plenty of space. Near Costco so could be a perfect place to go after/before.
The menu is way too large. Reminds me of Restaurant Impossible where Chef Irvine talks about how it's hard to focus on quality when there is soo much quantity. Â
Breakfast includes complimentary apple cinnamon, banana nut and blueberry muffins. We had a frittata and an omelette. Both was way larger than necessary and way greasier. Would much rather smaller items of higher quality.
Burgers are ok. I happen to have ordered the 2 items that contain the onion marmalade - the pierogies and the sweet onion and goat cheese burger. Â It was tasty but seemed like it might have been jarred, like one of those Harry and David relishes. Â I've since learned that it is, indeed, made on premises. Â Pasta dishes have way too much pasta and not enough flavor. Make your own Mac and cheese I found a bit odd. Even the base Mac and cheese has too much truffle oil. Truffle oil is in many items - as if it is the trendy ingredient and they want to showcase how trendy they are.
We have their frequent dining card, but unsubscribed from the emails as we never seemed to be able to get there on weekdays or take advantage of the specials. We've collected about 8 of their $5 metro bucks but find them hard to redeem (one at a time, weekdays only). They do have a nice birthday special and rewards program.
Really want this place to be better than it is. Maybe pare down the menu and focus on key dishes consistently prepared. Â Don't try to please everyone all the time with every possible kind of dish available. Â Focus on what you do well!
Edited to incorporate corrections provided by John G (on muffins, onion marmalade and rewards). Â My intention is to give my honest, obejctive and accurate opinion and I appreciate the feedback and chance to make corrections. Â All good will here.
I don't give out many 5 star reviews...I went for dinner around 5pm on a Saturday. Â The food was excellent! Â Tasty, large portions, average prices, and large menu selection. Â Good service. Â We did not have to wait to be seated, and the food came out pretty quickly. Â Delicious bread too!
