Dominick's Side Door Pub

We live nearby and ordered pizzas from them very frequently. We rarely dine there though. The food is so-so, just your local pub. The other day we ate in and couldn't believe  they are charging a lot more for pizzas when you dine in. The base price of the pizza is a few dollars more, and we calculated each topping to be $3 (they didn't print the topping cost in the menu.) If you want delivery, they charge a delivery fee! So you can't win either way. We usually go there to grab a quick 6-pack. But today they charged me over $13 for a 6-pack that I got from another place for only $11. So no more for us. We are ordering our pizzas elsewhere. To be fair, most places charge a delivery fee too.

We initially started going here when we heard the beer selection was good.  Since then we've been back about a dozen times and have been consistently pleased.  The outdoor patio is nice for the summer nights (and has a little fire pit, so it works in the late spring and fall as well).  They seem happy to go inside to get you drinks from the taps there if needed.  All of the bartenders and servers that we've dealt with have been attentive and pleasant, which is a really nice change of place from some other beer bars in the area.

The food is good, but it's not my first choice.  I've had the pizza, stromboli, and wings.  It's a not a place I ever go to for food, rather a place I end up for food.  I'm not generally disappointed, but not overwhelmed either.  It works for a casual dinner, but I don't think the food is anything special.

The draft selection is pretty good overall, though there have been times when it seemed like they were caught in between big beer menus.  They have a huge chalkboard on the wall with their selection and we've been there when you need a good couple minutes to get through it and also been there when there's a lot of black space to be filled.  Those times seem few and far between, so that's why we tend to go back.  They make a really good effort and the bartenders also are happy to make recommendations based on what's available not only on draft but in bottles (that are also sometimes available for carryout six-packs).  The six-pack selection has been pretty good lately, but it is expensive.  Be prepared to drop a few extra bucks for the craft brews than you might at Wegman's!

Food is pretty good, but expensive (FYI, about 20% higher than their online menu). $8.99 for an order of wings? Really? They weren't that good.

Also, the service is really poor. We saw one family that waited 30 minutes before being served before finally having to walk out. It was really hard to get out servers attention.

I hear their pizza is good, but I can't see going back. Next time I want this kind of food, I'll drive a little further and go to The Perk in Perkasie.
