Breakfast was good, though 7am is a little late to be starting during the week. Dinner was excellent, all of us (5 women) enjoyed our meals.

Nice breakfast. We ordered the amaretto french toast, egg bernardo and a bowl of mocha. Recommend the almond french toast .

Came here for breakfast, always been a big fan of breakfast. The place was packed, that's a good sign when you step into a restaurant. Ordered the omelet, it tasted alright. It came with potatoes. The portion sizes were big, and I personally would prefer bigger sizes on everything. I had sausage in the omelet, and I wasn't impressed. I don't remember which one it was, but I think it wasn't the chicken apple sausage. Don't get it.. The jam was delicious on the toast.

This place is famous for the Wiki. I usually get it during night times on a Thursday-Sat night when I'm downtown for drinks. It tastes good but it's definitely a creeper, so beware. At night, the bar area is very small, so if you want a Wiki, come early. They close at 12.

    Pro: good atmosphere

    Con: service

    Neutral: food

Went there as a family Thanksgiving weekend of 2012.
Walked in with our 3 month old in a stroller and was told
right away to leave the stroller  on the side. This was not an unusual
request but I was taken aback by the cold attitude.

Brunch was served by the wait staff who knew to serve the food
    with a smile.

Overall, not an experience worth repeating.

Good drinks except they charged me $380 for four drinks. Maybe if the bartenders weren't so drunk and concentrate more on how much they are swiping on my card, they would have gotten 3 stars. Shame on you!

This review is for the bar.

Kinda small, but a good place to start for people that haven't had the famous wiki drink.

$2.50 PBRs though while you wait for people to finish their wikis.

Went here with a group of friends to grab one last meal before the end of the school year. We decided to go here for a brunch at around 11 on Sunday. Apparently, they only serve breakfast and salads until 2:30 on Sundays. Anyways, the place is a bit small, but we managed to grab a few tables and combine them so it could accommodate us.

I couldn't decide what to order and the cashier, a blonde girl with blue eyes, was really rude about my indecisiveness.. Like, at first I ordered the special, which was the cornmeal pancakes with fruit (around $9) and when I changed my mind and wanted to order the cup of fruit, she looked at me and LITERALLY said, "are you serious?" and made me feel really unreasonable, so I said never mind and took my table number (which was a large playing card).

The food arrived fairly quickly to everyone. Around 15 minutes? When mine came, I was expecting.. well, something a lot more than what I paid for, that's for sure. I mean, $8 and all I got were three small pancakes and maybe one or two strawberries cut in quarters and a few blueberries. I mean, seriously, I could have done that myself, thanks. The cornmeal pancakes tasted like a flatter, OILIER version of cornbread, but fortunately I happen to like the gritty texture of cornbread.

Overall, the food was decent, but I wouldn't come for the customer service or the price.

Horrible experience with service. Went out with a group of about 10-12 for drinks and the bartender was pretty rude. Messed up 2 of our wikis and then gave me a Hefinweizen that tasted like complete crap. I took a few sips and  asked if I could exchange it for something else and he rudely declined stating "It doesn't work that way with alcohol you need to order something else." Luckily, I talked to the other bartender who quickly asked what I wanted to drink instead. That's the only reason I gave you guys 1 star.

Famous for their Wiki Whacky Woo's! A Davis classic.

HOWEVER, their breakfast is pretty amazing too! Surprisingly not as crowded as I thought it would be on a Monday morning of Memorial Day, and we got our meals in less than 10 minutes after ordering.

Personally, I ordered the Chicken Apple Sausage Scramble and it was tasty! Actually, I think the best part was the bread and THE RASPBERRY JAM! Oh my goodness! The jam was freshly made and to die for. Others ordered the Breakfast Burrito (IT WAS HUGE! and could definitely feed two people) and the Bernardo Breakfast Sandwich.

Definitely hit up this place for a hearty breakfast and/or a stiff drink.

This review is for late night wikis!

This is a DEFINITE must go place when you're down to have a good time in Davis. My friends & I started most of our nights here, chugging a wiki. I personally don't really enjoy the regular wiki (pink colored). I do like the pineapple (yellow colored) flavored though! Be aware, if you're lightweight, one drink will do enough damage. My 100 pound roomie was very tipsy after one wiki. I, on the other hand, will get very wasted if I drink a Long Island and AMF shortly afterwards, but just one wiki won't do much to me :P

TIP: CHUG THAT SHIT. You'll get a brain freeze, but it won't last long! Some people sip it, but I really don't know how they do that... hahaha

Another note, nights on off-midterm weeks will get very crowded. The place is small!

I heard they have a new flavored wiki (green colored), so I will def try that next time. I have yet to get some brunch here too!

    Excellent fair-trade, organic coffee.

Ordered the spinach mushroom omelette. Accompanied by potatoes, two slices of sourdough toast with butter and jelly. My omelette was yummy and potatoes were delicious. Seating was comfy inside with tables and booths, and a few tables outside.

Friendly servers/waiters. Menu is not extensive but has enough options to not feel overwhelmed. They also have a few gluten-free baked goods at the register. Pay first, seat yourself and then eat. Enjoyed the vibe in this cafe and will come again in the future.

Give me a WIKI! Wow are those drinks strong. I have a pretty high tolerance, but this drink definitely makes me feel quite buzzed. The bartender is very nice and does not go cheap on the alcohol. It is a small bar, so not really great for huge crowds. The Wiki is apart of the Davis Trinity, and so along with the wiki, and the two other drinks, one can find themselves forgetting what year they are in. I prefer the original wiki, but they do have other flavors. They do have a decent size bar, so you can go there for other drinks as well.

Wicky Wacky Woo. Enough said if you know what Im talking about.

Bernardo's in Davis is known for their infamous Wicky drinks (a combination of different alcohols with Bacardi 151 in the straw that tastes very sweet but do the job). I prefer the pineapple Wicky which is less on the sweeter side. Bernardos does get pretty crowded during the nights and it doesnt help that the bar is on the small side. There are a few chairs and tables that you may be lucky enough to grab.

If you visit Davis, this is a mandatory stop on your night out!!!

Wicky Wacky Woo. $8. Let's go.

The infamous Wicky is normally the first or last drink on a night of bar-hopping for many college students. It's more or less a ritual and mandatory to drink on your 21st. The drink itself is made of 4-5 different alcohol with some juice and Bacardi 151 in the straw. I prefer drinking the pineapple Wicky, but many prefer the original cherry flavor. The bartenders are super chill here.

I have yet to go to the Cafe for brunch or just to even get food. Will update review when I do go.

Bernardo's is a great place to start off your night. I have never actually had the food here, but it always looks/smells delish as the other people in the bar area are eating it...
When it's not too packed, it's fun to just sit and have a few drinks to relax. If you go on a weeknight the bartender will chat you up and make you special drinks. I personally do not like the Wiki Wacky Woo in either flavor, but it's a Davis novelty that you have to try at least once. And if you like it, great! Get wastey pants! Just dont be a cheater by taking out the straw and mixing it up, go big or go home :)

Would definitely recommend Bernardo's to someone who had never been before. It's cute, foot traffic goes pretty smoothly so you dont have to wait forever, and it's a great place to stop by or hang out.

This is a cute little brunch place where you can enjoy catching up with friends. I didn't get a meal here but I did try the soup. This spot is usually busy on the weekends and many college students enjoy the atmosphere.

Setting: cute little place where you can eat in or out.

Roasted butternut squash- a little bland, could have had more salt, but it taste healthy if your looking for something of that sort.

Mimosas: I have to say are amazing! great balance.

If I happen to be in town and actually have a meal, I will update this review, but for now I only have the soup to talk about.

This place is the best; their Bar Bernardo is also the best spot to start any night life in Davis. I've been here more times than I care to remember.

I always get their breakfast dish and the Almond Almaretto Toast is to die for.. I would actually die to get a huge plate of it but unfortunately they only give you two slices of toast with it which should be enough but it just whets my appetite so I also like their Eggs Benedict dish which is tasty.. but before I get off sounding like a fatso, let me talk about their Bar!

The Bar Bernardo is great. I maaayyy be a bit biased since I worked there as a doorman (aka bouncer) for just a summer, this review is coming from me having been a longtime customer of their bar LONG before I was employed there.

One word; WIKIS. I've only come here during bar hours a couple of times with a few friends and we usually get wikis to get the night started. There are two different flavors: the original one and the pineapple one (my favorite even though they both kinda taste similar). Bacardi 151 poured through the straw will hit you later in the night but the worse thing for me after chugging it is the brain freeze!

Though bar is very small and can get very crowded on some nights; this is a good place to start off a fun night!

This review is solely based on the bar...

Went on a wednesday night... not crowded at all the bartender wasn't the most attentive but it's a little less than average service.

Now, if you want to go hard and it has been one of those days... the Wiki will loosen you up completely and can possibly be the only drink you need.

Everyone has to try the Wiki and then the rest will be history!

Came here Wednesday for their Wiki Special, $10 for a burger and a Wiki. Though I'm sure the hours are off? The kitchen looked like they were finishing cleaning up by 9PM, but yelp says 10. Anyways, the burger was okay, same with the fries, wish I upgraded to the garlic fries. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium, and it was more rare than the medium-rare burger I had at Burgers and Brews the other day. It was still decent, it gets really pricey when you want to add things like Cheese, Bacon, Avocado, etc.

I'm a light weight when it comes to alcohol, and that wiki fudged me up. My friend told me never to lift the straw with the wiki, because there is a shot of 151 in the straw and it's gonna ruin the taste. It looks red, sweet, and innocent, but it really all tasted like alcohol T_T. It hurt, and I barfed an hour later, but I'm a light weight! :). Good luck to the rest of you heheh.

Only go here during their bar hours as a first stop of the night.

    Very small and easily crowded.

"Wiki," that's all I'll say about this place.

My most beloved restaurant & bar while I was a student at Davis!

    Restaurant:
Delicious food. It's bistro-American-comfort kinda food. Everytime I went I was always cleaning my plate, that's how good it was. I recommend salmon, steak or one of the pizzas for dinner. Breakfast you should go for the amaretto French toast, SO GOOD.
Friendly service, quick service, nice atmosphere. Totally worth it!

    Bar:
This is my favorite bar in Davis because I thought they served the best drinks. if you go you HAVE to have a wicky. It's about 6 different alcohols with some juice & a shot of 151 in the straw. The bartender told me exactly what was in it one time but I lost track after the first couple of alcohols he listed, i know tequila & vodka are in it though. Anyway it might sound gross but it's really good. They do a pineapple wiki too which I recommend and prefer over the original one. Either way can't go wrong. There other specialty drinks are good too! Go early to this bar if you are going out on a party night, it gets crammed and you'll have to wait outside then!

If you go bar at night, you must try the Wiki! a SHOT in the straw!!! whOo! who in Davis hasn't tried the drink underaged, or overaged?

But I really love the breakfast. They have the best mexican burrito and potatoes! Please try that!!!

A few of us ended up at Cafe Bernardo to wait out table availability at the nearby Burger and Brew. We ended up at the "bar" with the added bonus being the Giants/Cardinals NLCS Game 6 on the Big Screen. We enjoyed drinks, chatted with a really fun group of fellow diners, and then had to rush out too soon for Dinner that we maybe should have had here in the first place.

The guy working the Bar and small group of tables was great, and had a friendly, knowledgeable, and caring service attitude that was fun to watch. That also worked well with the overall "Cheers" ambiance of the eatery itself. On that and what I saw of the food, I would love to come back and check out the entire package.

A solid breakfast spot in Davis, though this is coming from someone who has been pretty spoiled by amazing morning eats in Chicago. Everything they do, they seem to do right.

Hubby got the EGGS BERNARDO with smoked salmon and was satisfied. Eggs were poached just right, and I definitely preferred the use of sliced rosemary bread in lieu of the traditional English muffin. I love waffles, especially those that stray from the usual plain ones, and enjoyed the understated elegance of the CORNMEAL BELGIAN WAFFLES, which came with toasted pecan butter.

Mind-blowing breakfast? Not really, but definitely breakfast done well. The self-serve coffee is just the thing to fill in all the nooks and crannies so you can power through the rest of your morning. // 3.5 stars

I've only ever been to the bar here. I have yet to try their food but I have heard good things.

I really like the bar. The atmosphere is really chill and the drinks are decently priced.

This is a good place to go to if you want a really relaxed night or if you want to start your night off with a quick drink without the crowd.

A very nice place to have breakfast especially since I was so use to only being here to drink at the bar.

Ordered the stir fry noodles which were really good. Sort of your typical Asian style stir fry with lots of soy and black pepper seasoning. It came with chicken, broccoli, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms. It's unlimited coffee once you order a cup so that was a plus.

Overall, a good place for lunch but I guess it'd be nicer to have more variety. There's 5-6 choices under 3 categories (sandwiches, salads, entrees) but nothin else seemed too appealing.

I've actually never been here for food but I heard the breakfast is great.
I've actually been here every night that we go out because of their infamous "Wiki", short for Wiki Wacky Woo. It's a drink with like 6-8 different types of alcohol and people who usually drink it down it all in one gulp so you can imagine why they come here. It's a very economically smart drink.
Now the bar itself is a small bar. It's a little bar built in a hotel. It gets a little packed on Thursdays when everyone goes out in Davis but its completely fine because everyone who goes here buys a Wiki and leaves.

Meh.. place is small, bartender is unattentative, and the wiki is okay.

The first few sips are disgusting because you're getting all that alcohol (the 151 in the straw and the clears on the bottom).. but it gets better as the pineapple, OJ, and cranberry juice makes its way to the straw.

Definitely a strong drink.. I had fun with just 1 and I'm labeled as a lightweight. I probably would have been stumbling by the 3rd. Lol

People come here for one reason and one reason only: WIKI

Doesn't taste great but hey, gets the job done.  I don't think anyone knows what one of these is really made of except that it has a bunch of alcohol in it and some 151 in the straw.  The only way to drink it is to chug it til you see the bottom, then reward yourself with the cherry when you're done.

The place is small and can get really crowded on some nights.  BUT a lot of groups just come here to get their dose of Wiki and then go stumble their way to another bar in Davis-so the wait is never really too long if there does happen to be a line outside.

So if you're looking for a quick fix to juice up your night, I'd recommend helping yourself to one of these bad boys.  Not a fancy drink nor a fancy place but nevertheless a great option if you just feel like having one of those nights and waking up thinking "WHYYYYYYY did i do that?"

The bar is tiny and the stock is pretty limited, but it works.  I've been here a couple of times and pretty much, all I can say is order the wiki.  If you want any other drink, just visit another bar where there are more bartenders and a better selection of alcohol.

    But about the wiki:
$8: vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec, orange juice, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, ice and of course, 151 in the straw.  Despite the mix of alcohol, this drink is pretty easy to drink- probably one of the reasons it's so popular.

My recommendation: start your night of drinking at Cafe Bernardo.
And order a thai noodle salad if you're hungry.

The place to go to begin your drunken night. The bar (which this review will focus on primarily) closes pretty early on Thirsty Thursdays (midnight) which means you should get there early to get yo Wiki on. Bernardo's flagship drink, the "Wiki", brings all the students to this bar. It is ridiculously strong and gets the night going. You might wanna go halfsies with a friend if you can't hang. I'd suggest going for the pineapple wiki as it goes down easier than the original fruit punch flavor. No sipping unless you're a masochist, just chug it all down in one gulp. Must-do for a first timer in Davis.

The bar is pretty cramped at night, but most people come in for a wiki or two and bounce. There's limited seating but most move onto red88 or ket afterwards so I've only had to line up a few times. Service is pretty consistent and as attentive as the crowds allow. You might have to work to get their attention.

Food?! Why on earth would you go to the Cafe?! The real deal is at night at the bar. The Wiki is a Davis legend and a right of passage for those who turn 21. It has magical properties that have turned young gentlemen into inconsiderate jerks and the sweetest of girls into violent atrocities.

Pro advice: Ask for the pineapple wiki (apparently called a bahama jackson?) and DO NOT stir your drink. It's also not a great idea to just sip it, so taking it in one chug is recommended. Good luck and I'll see you at Ket, because you'll probably end up going there after Bernardo's is closed.

    LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

This is one of the best places to take guests from out of town, everyone seems to enjoy it and the variety of food it awesome.

BRUCH: the french toast, breakfast burrito, and home made granola are my favorite! Get the granola with a side of fruit and yogurt! On a sunday morning my favorite thing is to come here and get a latte....in a bowl!

LUNCH/DINNER: I have enjoyed the salads (which are large), the french fries, the polenta (yum, yum yum), spicy broccoli, burger. All have been great.

DRINKS: all I have to say is...WIKI WACKY WOO! one drink and you are destined to have a great night in this little cow town.

My rating is based solely on the night crowd and drinks at this place!  A great place to stop by if you are barhopping in Davis!

They are known for their famous WIKIS!  8 bucks for the whacked up drink and woo - it can last you the entire night!  No wonder why they post it as WIKI WACKY WOO!

If you are looking for another drink that will not get you to you as badly or want to order another drink, try the TOKYO TEA!  The name says tea, but it has alchy in it, of course!

On top of the two drinks, call it a memorable night by getting the AMF!!! ;)
