We stayed two nights at the Candlelight Inn. It was a fairly nice experience.

    The good:
Rooms are fairly large, with bathrooms and showers in room.
    Free Wi-fi
Pretty sweet location for walking to the river, depot, and local dining.
Hosts are just the right amount of chatty and are available.
In the morning there is a charming tea/biscuit/coffee service delivered to your door.
The house itself is in very good condition - with even the original finish on the woodwork which is nice if you appreciate detail and history.

    The Bad:
The cleaning staff leaves a little to be desired. The first night we were there we had no hand towels or washcloths. Not to mention, that the in room air conditioner hadn't been turned on. To be fair, the owners father had passed away the day previously and she was out of sorts. The next night, we were only left two towels and washcloths - so if we decided to shower before we went out to eat there would be no washcloth for the next morning, the linens were not refreshed and used glassware/dishes were not cleared.

To be honest, I'm not sure that we are going to be a dedicated B&B couple. We like to sleep in and I am not a conversationalist before 10:00. Breakfast is promptly at 9 with a table full of other people one is expected to be interacting.  Breakfast itself is a mixed bag - but overall fairly good.

"Attention to Detail" is the theme here. When we first arrived (check in is between 4 and 7), we were greeted by a delightful hostess who offered us wine and a sampling tray of meats, cheeses, chocolates, and nuts. We took a seat in the parlor and were checked in, given a few recommendations for dinner, then shown our room.

I enjoyed the library and parlor rooms very much. We stayed in Margaret's room and slept peacefully. The attention to detail, antiques and such, were spot on.

Coffee and tea were brought up to our room at 8:15 in the morning, and left outside our door. A music box was played so that we knew when our beverages were at our door. Fantastic! And we got these amazing little muffins in the cutest little tray/basket.

Breakfast was at 9am in the formal dining room. I found the seat with my name next to it, and joined the other guests for a three course breakfast. During our third coarse, we were given a brief history about the house from the inn keeper. Very interesting, indeed.

All in all, a wonderful experience.
