Capital City Bar & Grill

I was in Springfield for a one nighter.  I went for a walk and I was quite lucky to find the Capital City Bar & Grill.

They had the Blackhawks' first game of the season on the big screen and the place was full, if not packed.

The service was speedy and very friendly. The beer cold and the food quite decent.

I would absolutely love to have a place like this in the area I live in.  The Capital City Bar & Grill has a truly friendly neighborhood bar feeling.

I would have liked to spend another night in Springfield to visit it again.

Went there last night with a friend to watch the Dolphins - Saints MNF. We had a table with good view of a large tv with the game on. The game audio was broadcast throughout the bar. Decent crowd that had fun with each other. Friendly staff. We only had drinks and no food, but they had a menu with pretty much all the bar food you could want.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place on the way back to Chicago from St. Louis to catch the Bears game, and as our luck would have it, this was the bar we came across.  The number of games they had on was almost overwhelming, and the bartender was happy to change a TV over to the Bears-Vikings game so we wouldn't have to crane our necks.  I got the Angus burger with bacon, cheese, and grilled onions, and my boyfriend got the ham horseshoe that he was only able to eat half of.  They had a pretty decent beer selection, and the service was really good!  My burger was a little overdone, but it still tasted great.  There was a really fun, friendly atmosphere, and it was a nice place for us to stop!
