Waterfront dining, good food
Casual waterfront dining. Friendly atmosphere. A favorite place for the locals. We sat in the bar area. Great water views and sunset. As we perused the menu , our waitress suggested that we could share an entree! And we did. The Seafood sampler was more than ample for the two of us, Flounder, shrimp, scallops and oysters. What a gem!
We won a gift certificate for Captain Poo's and since it was Father's Day, we decided to use it. Â Neither of us were sorry. Â It took us about 1/2 hour to get there but it was a nice day for a ride on the bike. Â There were quite a few bikes there in the parking lot and all the outside tables were full, as well as the bar. Â We went inside to the AC and found a little table looking over the waterway with boats docked there. Â I decided on scallops. Â I asked if they were Bay scallops or sea scallops and were told they were the latter. Â I don't like those little Bay scallops. Â They remind me of small buttons with no taste. Â I had a choice of one more side, other than the coleslaw that came with it. Â I chose potato wedges. Â My significant other chose the flounder plate and got onion rings with his. Â When our waitress brought the plates out, my eyes just about popped out of my head! Â There must have been at least a dozen big scallops, maybe more and counting at least 8 potato wedges, I'd say that there were 2 Idaho sized baking potatoes there. My partner chose the flounder and it was bigger than his plate! Â He had about 8 onion rings and they were big ones. He had a Michelob Light and I had water with lemon. Â The bill was $40 but we only had to pay $15, out of pocket. Â Are we going back? Â Yes we are going back. Â The lunch menu looks fantastic and I hear that the Friday special is hard to beat, being flounder for $7.99. Â My dinner was $17.99 and his dinner was $16.99. Â The beer was $3.25 (in a bottle).
This place is definitely out of the way, but worth finding. Â The food was great, the waitress we had was very hospitable, the locals go here so it's well worth the trip if you are coming to stay at the beach.
Reece and Justin were spot on. We stopped in to play some trivia and decided to check it out and get some food. Good choice! We had the biggest piece of flounder we had ever seen! A full belly later and a big smile on my face...we will definitely be back! We met a neat couple there and ran into them the next night. They enjoyed it as much as we did!!
