Well I gotta say the food was decent and the service was...terrible. Â The place was busy (as it should it's in corporate central). You would assume the service staff would be used to this kind of fast pace atmosphere, but they weren't! Â
I went for my birthday. My lovely boyfriend took me. Â It was a Thursday night. Mostly a business crowd (surprise!). Â We got a seat right next to the kitchen which we were able to view through a glass. Â I like that. Â I like that I can see whether someone is wiping the sweat off their forehead then buttering my bread or actually washing their hands and keeping it clean! Luckily, it was the latter. Â
It took our server awhile to actually approach us. When she graciously arrived at our table I tried to make casual conversation, which she ignored. It made me feel like a total loser. So, therefore you can only imagine that her tip was the minimum 20%. Â Thanks for your hospitality (sarcasm, maybe?). Â She was the kind of waitress that was 'so busy' she couldn't finish a sentence before she walked away from us. "I'm sorry, WHAT? Oooo..ok See ya later! Hope that table of 10 gets more out of ya!"
The food was good, luckily. Â It came in a massive amount. Even the appetizers were meant for 7. Â But we, of course, finished our calamari. I ordered a steak. It was good. Â I just can't stop thinking about how rude our server was. Not that she said anything rude. But her complete avoidance of real conversation and care was what got me.
Anyways. I won't be going back. Â I can find good food in a lot more places with GOOD service.
I work in the same building so by default I hang my hat here quite often. Great place to have a drink in the bar. If you do, make sure you go on a night Becca is working (Fridays), she will take great care of you.
They have specials most nights, drinks/1/2 off apps.
Nice touch - They also always have wasabi mix to munch on at the bar.
Minus - Venue relies on office building for restroom facilities so they are a hike and not very convenient.
Tip - While you are there, be sure to get your shoes shined outside the restaurant, the gentleman does a fine job for a fair price.
Bonus Tip - I highly recommend the tastings they host, always enjoyable and free.
Good for business lunches and fancy dinners as well.
Keep up the good work Carlucci :-)
