Well my cousin "liked" this place on Facebook, so I decided to check out. I walked into this little burger joint expecting some great burgers. I figured they called themselves Carmel Burgers for a reason. Well I was very disappointed in the food and cleanliness. They restaurant was a mess with only a total of 3 customers there and this was including me. Had to sit at a dirty table because there weren't any clean. I ordered the Elvis Burger. It's a 1/4# burger with crunchy peanut butter, bacon, lettuce, pickle, and tomato on a sesame seed bun. It wasn't tasty at all and I LOVE a burger with peanut butter on it. I also ordered the Cajun wedge fries. These were covered in Cajun seasoning to the point you couldn't even tasted the potato. Hopefully the owner and staff will read this review and change their ways. Sorry Carmel Burger, but you guys need some work.

Burgers are average! I asked another consumer what they thought, "just a burger"
I don't think the owner has a clue what it takes to make a good burger .

I went here the other day and was dissappointed. The food was decent but I thought it would be a nice, warm, and welcoming family place. The staff just didn't really seem to care and also seemed inexperienced. It took at least ten minutes of standing in line for the person behind the counter to take all the orders. The burgers are very big and you get a lot of food, but for the price it doesn't seem worth it. I spent over $13 for just myself for a gyro with fries and a drink and they don't event bring your food out to you. It was also very hot in there. Not the best atmosphere.

This was my first visit and it was just okay.  When asked the cashier recommended the Carmel Burger or gyro and I went with the burger and fries.

Fries were hot and crisp and are the thick steak fry type. Burger was kinda dry and fairly boring.

Someone in another review mentioned limited seating but I was there around dinner on a week night and there was only two other parties there so plenty of seating inside and out.

Every time I am over by Carmel Burgers, Pizzology usually wins out. But today we stopped for a burger. The "big meal deal" (cheeseburger, fries and a drink) was $6, although knock off $1 on Mondays. A sign in the window said the burgers were "hand pattied" but they didn't taste especially fresh to me. Overall it was alright. I wouldn't make a special trip over there -- and if I did, well, I'd just end up at Pizzology.

Not a lot of seating inside, so be prepared if you go during a peak time.

It's pretty easy to spot this place....right on Hazel Dell Parkway, near Pizzology. Just look for the Comic Sans sign, haha.
Pretty much your typical burger joint. I can't say that I was blown away by the burgers we tried, but I definitely wasn't disappointed. I had the bison burger, and tried a Sante Fe burger (I think that's what it was called, had jalapenos on it). The fries were definitely the highlight...especially with cheese.
Worth checking out if you're in the area & craving a burger.

Located along Hazel Dell Parkway in Carmel sits this locally owned burger spot. Parking is plentiful and the views of the round-a-bout, while sitting outside area unobstructed. This is actually pretty neat, considering that nearly every driver handles a round-a-bout differently. Great conversations while analyzing driving habits are rarely a boring conversation.

Now back to the restaurant. The establishment is nice and definitely caters to the neighborhood. Local businessmen/women have their business cards on the counter, which signifies the restaurant's support of local businesses. The restaurant is family friendly and extremely neat in appearance. Relatively small, which provides a cozy feel to it.

The food is another story all together. There's nothing cozy at about their menu. Their Carmel Burger, which consist of a 1/3lb Angus Beef is pretty good. Their Triple Carmel Burger is a mean mother though. It runs $10.00, but you'll be full after you finish that monster up. The fries are freshly cut and taste pretty good too. For the vegetarians out there, they do have a Black Bean Veggie Burger for $5.65, which looks pretty darn impressive.

Even though the name of this restaurant is Carmel Burgers, it's not all about burgers, despite their 1/2 Bison Burger, which grabs many people's attention. This spot has Gyros, for only $5.50, Wings for under $5 bucks, All-Beef Kosher Dogs, and even Ice Cream.  They even have a $5.00 Kids Corner on the menu, which kids can enjoy a cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, or even a hot dog, with fries and a drink.

If you feel up for the challenge, check out their Carnivore Challenge. It's $35.00 and requires an hour advance notice so that the restaurant can prepare for your visit. The challenge is pretty simple. They serve you not a triple cheese burger, but a 6 layer cheese burger (1/3lb on each layer). One pound of fries, and a regular soft drink. If you're able to complete this meal in 45 minutes, you'll walk away with a t-shirt, your photo will be placed on their Facebook Wall, and you'll be the subject of one of their tweet. Pretty sweet deal.

All in all this is a nice little spot. I gave them a 4 out of 5, simply because they don't have a turkey hot dog, which is an alternative for individuals who are unable to eat beef due to various common medical conditions. Other than that minor detail, this place has everything else to ensure that nice experience while enjoying a fantastic meal. Good job Carmel Burgers on the development of this restaurant.

Tried twice, each time the burgers were over cooked and dry.

I've been here once and it was just OK.  I had the Bello burger, which had portobello mushrooms and swiss cheese.  Not bad, but nothing to "write home about".  I had the onion rings, which were overcooked, but still doable.

I'd maybe go back if I happened to be hungry, in the area, and short of other options.  But I'm not making any special plans to revisit.

So, how are the burger at Carmel Burgers?  Sorry, I'm not a big burger guy, but I've been here a couple of times, and both times got a gyro.  In that regard, they get a passing grade.  Their steak fries are a refreshing alternative to other standard burger joints, and the fact that the food is made to order is a nice-to-have.  Not the cheapest place for lunch, but yet another good locally-owned alternative to chain restaurants (the owners also own/run A2Z Cafe at 96th & Gray).

I visited Carmel Burgers for the first time last night and had a very nice experience.   The staff there is very friendly and helpful, which is refreshing in this day and age.   But then, I've found that to be true at many Carmel establishments I visit.
The burger was quite good, I ordered it with some lettuce and when I took my first bite it had a nice crispy texture, kind of like the burgers one might get at a restaurant with the initials SNS.   The fries are thick wedges and they too had a very unique taste.  They were not greasy, but had some very good flavor.
A nice touch was the live music being played by two Baby Boomers playing cover tunes.  They seemed to be enjoying themselves and the patrons enjoyed it, too.

All in all, I would agree that these are a little more expensive than fast food burgers.   However, isn't it a small price to pay to get some food that is tasty AND support local business at the same time?

    Keep up the good work!

(oh yes, the free WiFi is a nice touch, too!)

I tried Carmel Burgers last week and was pleasantly surprised. It's a bit pricier than I expected ($7-9 range for burger + $2.75 for drink & fries) so expect to drop an easy $10 spot for lunch. However, you're VERY full when you leave.  I've had the dbl cheeseburger here and I've had the bison burger. The bison burger is pricier and not as big, but it's def. tastier.

I like that all the burgers are thick, done all the way through and very tasty. Also, they come just like I like 'em: tomato, lettuce, pickle, mayo (unless you want otherwise, obviously). Plus, if you pony up $3.75/bottle, you can have a tasty Fat Tire Ale to wash it down with.

The staff is very friendly, the place is clean, easy to find AND...get this....THEY HAVE WIFI! Freakin' awesome! I went in there for a burger last week and stayed a couple of hours getting work done on my laptop. By far, it's my favorite place in Carmel to have a great burger. :)

Burgers were really good, less greasy than five guys.  They serve steak fries and they were quite tasty as well.  I thought it a little on the pricey side for burgers but you get an excellent flavor from the meat and the service was prompt and attentive for a burger joint.  The owners were working the counter and are proud of their establishment.

I'm a fan of the burgers, but stick , with the burgers. I tried the gyros and was disappointed.

The burgers on the other hand are very good and a really good deal. $4.75 for a regular 1/3 lb. cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, onions and mayo.  Fries are an additonal $1.75, fries and a drink combo add $2.75.  There are many burger options to choose from, but so far I've only tried the original.

Carmel Burgers is a good choice for value and for a good burger that is a step up from fast-food, but still fairly quick service, without all the accutrements of a full-service restaurant.
