This artisan pizza is incredibly tasty. Â There are lots of different toppings you can order, as well as their own specialty pizzas. Â The crust is different from other pizza establishments - and I just love it! Â It's a little thicker and chewier, but it works. Â Don't get me wrong - I enjoy a good thin and crispy crust pizza...but it's more than just the texture. Â The crust's flavor is unique and has more depth than other pizza crusts. Â You can read about their crust on the menu. Â I love that my fiancee and I can go in and get a small pizza and two side salads for around $20, depending on the type of pizza we order. Â Sometimes it's a little more, but always totally worth it! Â If cheap pizza in large quantities is what you want, stick with the chains in the area (believe me...we do that sometimes, too!) Â But for a good quality, grown-up pizza for a more discerning palate, you can't go wrong with Mellow Mushroom.
Review Source:Mellow Mushroom is my favorite pizza place in Carmel. If it was up to me, my office would always order their pizza from here instead of Bellacino's.
I love the hippie vibe inside the restaurant. There's a huge mural on the wall depicting psychedelic 60s music and culture which is entertaining to look at while eating. Unfortunately it's a draw for families with loud and annoying children, but that's not something I can change. I'd say that's the only real drawback I've encountered.
My step-mom is gluten free, so I tried some of the gluten free pizza and I weirdly liked it a lot. Don't knock it until you try it. They also have a lot of options for veggie pizzas, which is a huge plus for me. And it's all very reasonably priced with great service. Win!
