Awful, just awful. So bad that I felt compelled to create a yelp account just to leave this review. Bun was stale, kids pizza was disgusting - right from the freezer and had no taste. Â The French fries were so overcooked and grease logged they were inedible. Â Nasty - I wish I had read the other reviews first.
Review Source:Teddy's Burger Joint gets two stars for so many different reasons.
First, it took over five minutes just to be greeted by our server once we were seated. It was around 9:00 p.m. and wasn't super busy. But she apologized and we moved on.
We started off with an appetizer which came out pretty quick, except we ordered chips with guacamole, not chips with cheese dip. It took four minutes for the person running the food to swap out nacho cheese for guacamole.
By this time, our food had arrived (so much for the appetizers). I ordered a Hawaiian Burger while the girlfriend ordered grilled cheese. The grilled cheese sandwich wasn't grilled, so our server apologized and sent it back.
The Hawaiian burger was okay, nothing too great. The fries were okay too, but the ends were a little crisp. Girlfriend didn't say too much about the grilled cheese and didn't really touch the chips and guacamole.
Our bill ended up being $30 for a Hawaiian burger ($8.95), a grilled cheese sandwich, chips and guacamole ($5), and a lemonade.
While I appreciate our server recognizing the mistakes (some of which weren't her fault), my girlfriend and I just felt like this place wasn't worth coming back to. The dining room feels large and uninviting, our food came out wrong, and it was too expensive.
If someone from Teddy's is reading this, it is crucial for your managers to be working the floor. It is impossible to know how your front of house and back of house staff are doing if you're not inspecting them. After this experience, I'll stick with Red Robin for gourmet burgers.
Decided to try Teddy's Burger Joint for lunch with 3 other co-workers today. Â While the service was friendly, it was extremely slow. Â Noticed the server chatting it up with other employees and customers while we waited around 15 minutes for our checks. Â We finally had to ask another server for our checks.
In regards to the food, I got the cheeseburger lunch special (which was only listed outside on a sign and nowhere on the menu). Â The burger was decent, but not worth what it cost. Â In addition, the food was very slow to come out, even though we were there at 1:30 after the lunch rush.
I feel if a place is open for lunch, they should make it a point to have prompt service for people who need to get back to the office.
With all the other quality burger places on the Northside of Indianapolis, I don't plan on making a return visit.
