This place is straight aces. Â The wife and I strolled in for an after dinner drink and, well, that quickly turned into several after dinner drinks and some great conversation with the owners.
The drinks - As a fan of craft brews and a casual home brewer I love seeing places pouring quality brews. Â The dozen or so taps had an array of local and national craft brews: White Birch, Founders, Peak, etc. Â I know nothing about wine, but my old lady was impressed with the few she tried. Â The bartenders and owners seemed to know their stuff and you could tell they took pride in their selection of wines and beers.
The food - We arrived after the kitchen had closed but we did get the home made hummus plate which was perfect. Â The menu was replete with lighter options that sounded very intriguing and some other patrons had only great things to say about the food.
The company - It was a little slow towards the end of the night but both Andy and Alana (the owners) took time to chat with us about the bar, their love of the business, and many other topics. Â Nice gestures like this go a long way for me. Â Ivan, the other bartender, was also extremely friendly and welcoming.
If you want a Coors Light or PBR (as we all do at some point) this is not your place. Â But if you want quality beer and good conversation I cannot recommend Cask and Vine enough. Â If you're in/near Derry check it out, you won't regret it.
