Saddened by our recent visit. After eating at the yard for over 16 years my wife & I enjoyed a date away from our 4 young girls after being away from NH for a year. We thought we would go back to one of our ol' new England haunts. The staff was great, but the decor is old, out dated, the salad bar is poor at best (we remember it being so much better). The food (we ordered the seafood) was poor for a New England eatery serving sea food. So bummed, we will not be going back, sad after 16 years eating there. I hope the get the management team involved to see what is happening, not as we remember it. Hoping they turn it around, we have great memories there.
Review Source:We went here for mother's day buffet. There was a large variety and most foods were good. The lamb was under cooked & the seafood was smothered in a white sauce that added nothing to it. Other than that it was not bad.
I took my husband back there last night for his birthday figuring that the food could only be better given that the place was almost empty & they weren't rushed to keep the trays full. I was wrong!. I ordered the seafood Linguini . The pasta was over cooked the scallops were cut in half & it only had claws & knuckles in it for lobster meat ( the seafood was over cooked as well) When I told the waitress that I didn't like claw meat she said * that's what it comes with , claws & knuckles* Then she turned abruptly & left the room. So I took my plate to the manager & gave it back to them. I'm NOT paying almost 20 dollars a plate for something that's over cooked & meat I don't care for. I ate salad ( which wasn't the freshest) There were very few items in their salad bar & no meats ( there was a huge chunk of cheese that you can tell had sat out there all day) The waitress brought me a beer to go with my dull salad that had an ice damn on the edge of the glass an inch thick. ( My son also said he noticed a smirk on her face) Not wanting to be the victim of a vengeful waitress I brought the beer back up to the manager as well. Next time I'll just go to Applebees
Like many things in Manchester, this place is dated. I felt like I walked in to the 1980's. we had to walk through a maze to find the hostess station and then were offered cheese and crackers that had been sitting out. We were seated promptly, but then waited a long time for a waiter to take our drink order, even though every table around us was serviced. The table had a mixed drink menu but no beer or soft drink list. When we asked for water the waiter brought a pitcher and some glasses and walked away. I ordered the pan seared scallops and Parmesan risotto. The scallops were over cooked and over salted; the risotto was not risotto at all but more like a rice pilaf. My Guinness was not pulled properly. Over all, a boring sub par dining experience. We won't be going back.
