We went to Chandler's Grille & Bar a couple weeks ago for dinner, which is located in the Chandler Building at the corner of Elm St and Bridge St. This restaurant/bar was formerly The Chambeaux, which had good pub food, 3 bars including a back bar area with a HUGE TV where we used to play Rock Band with other patrons.
At the time of this review, the place was being partially renovated with the front bars closed, so the back bar area was open for dinner and drinks, no more HUGE TV though, just normal HDTVs. We were greeted as we headed to the back and sat at a high top table. There's also an outside patio area along the Bridge Street side.
The menu offers American cuisine and pub fare including steaks, seafood, chicken, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers at moderate prices.
We started out with Buffalo Style Chicken Rangoons, which were very tasty, shredded spiced chicken stuffed in deep fried wonton wrappers served over greens with a creamy dipping sauce. For dinner, my friend enjoyed the Grilled Salmon with over roasted vegetables. I had the Meatloaf over mashed potatoes and topped with crispy asparagus tempura, a nice touch. The meatloaf with gravy was very moist with good flavors and the mashed potatoes were very good. For dessert, I had the Creme Brulee with fresh strawberry slices/drizzle, which was light, creamy and refreshing, a nice ending to a very good dinner.
The service was very attentive since our waitress/bartender was close by. We received our drinks and food in a timely manner and I got a complementary refill on Diet Coke without asking.
