I love the beer and I think the bar is amazing, but I needed to complain about their kitchen. I ordered take-out which was then not ready when we picked it up. The order was confirmed by phone and then they claimed that they never received the order. Okay, then can we place it now? Â Nope, kitchen's closed. Oh, well.
I understand things happen and all, but this was so absurd. I wasn't even going to complain, but there are too many positive reviews so I thought I'd just throw in my two cents.
The Rover is easily Manchester's best bar. They have much better than average pub food which when combined with the best service in the city make this my go-to bar. The wings are good. The Reuben is excellent. They have changing food specials that are great. Â Wash it down with the best Guiness in Manchester. Or grab a tall boy of 'Gansett (New Englands most underrated beer). There's no gimmicks. It's everything you want your Irish bar to be. It's never pretentious. It's consistent. I have a great time every time I'm here. Unlike the other places in Manchester, this place feels real. The other places try so hard to create atmosphere. The Rover has it without ever trying to. It has that geat pub feeling we all love.
Review Source:Top notch place to go. Â This bar has a great atmosphere, good food, and they know how to pour a beer. Â I went here twice in the same day. Â I wanted to try other places, but it called me back for dinner. Â I had two outstanding meals and even though it is heavy on the Boston Red Sox garb, I as a Yankee fan still felt comfortable and love this place. Â The place is clean, on point with the food, and the service is top notch. Â The wings were excellent, Irish potato skins are excellent, outstanding Bison Burger, and the Bangers are banging. Â I researched many other pubs and I wanted to visit them, but like I said, this place called me back because it is great.
