The Cave

Excellent! We had lunch here yesterday and tried the lunch special... it was fabulous and the price of $5.00 is well worth it! Highly recommend! Glad we tried something new and will definitely be back! :)

Picture wine served out of vending machines in a strip mall. Doesn't sound like the classiest experience, does it? Well, it's surprisingly good. I ended my truncated Ventura county wine tour here and I feel like I could have skipped the previous places and been just as happy.

You do miss out on the chit-chat and education of a tasting at a winery but in exchange you get a massive selection, zero wait, zero sales hustling, and incredibly cheap and delicious food. It's not the fanciest food, but it's insanely inexpensive for a restaurant with table service. My date and I both got the Cave Girl with Angus. It's a little fancier than the Cave Man with melted brie and arugula. Next time I'm in Malibu I will definitely be tempted to revisit.

I had so much fun here! I loaded up a wine debit card with 20.00 and sat down to an amazing experience,. the wines are your choice,. you fill your g;lass from enomatic wine machines,. 1,3 or 5 ounce pours,. the menu though,.OMG,. filet of beef with rosemary mashed potato OR a crispy pork belly with coconut curry rice and a chocolate ganache dipped pork cracklin'! OR fried green tomatoes with tri pepper jelly,. grilled salmon,. cheese platters,.desserts,. we had the honeydew jalapeno ice cream,. soo good! I will be back! the atmosphere inside the cave is nice,. but just so you know,. you are in the back of a business park strip mall wine warehouse,. ok? this is not a beachfront "with views" eatery,. it's all about being cozy and all about the wine and the food,. kitchen is open walled so you can view everything,. clean and sparkling! very friendly service,. their beer selection is special,. the wines were ok,. that being partly my fault because I couldn't make a choice from the 32 available.. but a few of the tastes I had were delish! i'd like to go back here with more $$ and try lot's more of the food menu,. that was the best part for me,. and the prices for gourmet little plates was very good,. I don't think you can beat it for what you actually get and the care taken in the prep for the price,.perfectly fair. a good time was had by all... if I would suggest anything to them,. it would be to offer more local wines... a foodie wine lovers heaven,.
