Upon walking in to Center Street, we were greeted by the owner. He said they were at capacity (this was at 4:30pm) and refuse to let us in. I looked past him and there was one table of four,   and no one in the bar.  We just wanted to get a drink in the bar, however they said they would only serve us outside. I have been to the bar numerous times, and i will never go back. The owner was rude, disrespectful, and lost business with his horrible service and attitude. Never go to Center Street unless you want to deal with rude business owners.

So i finally came in for lunch, only to become disappointed. I ordered a Medium-rare NY steak. And by surprise, i had a nerve on my steak. I hope the staff knows about steaks like they should since they work in a steakhouse. Hopefully it was a mistake.

But other than that!, the server treated me very very well, the food over all was great, the atmosphere was good, and the service was legit.

We were hopeful about this place. I've had a hard time finding a good steakhouse nearby and I went in with high hopes. Layout of the dining area is somewhat awkward. My fiancé and I were seated in a corner and there was a curtain between us and what sounded like the kitchen. We could hear the waitstaff and chef in the back talking and laughing. That, coupled with the fact that the ambiance music chosen was a radio station which played 'Call Me Maybe' then did the traffic and weather report in the middle of my meal--strike one. I ordered the ribeye and my fiancé ordered the prime rib. The bread they brought out was good, the 'relish plate' not so much. Food was brought out and we dug in. Best I can say is meh...honestly the ribeye I make myself at home is better, and I don't go out and pay $26 for something I can make better myself. Strike two. The only great thing about this place was our waitress, who was wonderful. Paid $75 dollars worth of meh for two--if you're going to have the same prices as Texas Roadhouse your steak better match up, or I will go there instead.

Yelp did not let us down! Excellent friendly service and great fresh food. We went for lunch on a Monday and it was quite busy. The grilled calamari and grilled tilapia were both great. The veggies were perfect, tender and flavorful. The ambiance is a bit rustic but hell we're in Turlock. We will definitely be back!

This place has a great turkey burger and they make their own salad dressings. I loved the Italian dressing! Friendly and timely service. Outside seating. A bit pricey but good.

Nothing special here. Fully loaded with overweight, strictly white locals. Meager beer selection. The steak was no better than anything I can get at the local supermarket and grill myself. If anything, check out the fried chicken.

Center Street was our party's third choice for lunch, after our first two turned out to be closed on Mondays. We entered disappointed but we left full and happy!

Our waitress, Amy, was a gem. Very sweet, super attentive, and informative to boot. We asked about the calamari featured on a sandwich and as an option to the Ceasar salad and she knew exactly how it was prepared. Calamari steaks, not rings, tenderized, breaded with cracker crumbs and seasoning, then grilled, not deep fried. Sold!

The table order two Ceasars, one sandwich, and another sandwich as a wrap, all with calamari. Completely missing the calamari train, I ordered the chicken Ceasar wrap special with a cup of minestrone. My wrap was wonderful. Tender pieces of chicken with crispy salad wrapped up in a soft tortilla. The minestrone tasted like beef stew with beans and pasta, but it was really good and definitely fresh and homemade.

But I also got to try the calamari and it was the best I've ever had. Yum! Everyone ate every bite and it all got rave reviews. The calamari was tender, juicy, flavorful. The breading was just perfect. And, the French roll that the sandwich came on was grilled and flat, not the thick, tasteless, bun I'm used to seeing.

We got a couple of beers and had a very relaxing lunch. The only downside is that the Grill is dark, more of a night time bar than a sunny lunch spot, but it's not like there's a shortage of sun here.

Love the steaks and burgers.  In fact everything we have had there has been good.  Highly recommend the Grill.

I really wanted to like this place. We went in last Friday for dinner. I ordered the chicken and the hubby the Calamari Steak. Prices are decent  but the service was the worst! We were seated in the lounge area and I could hardly hear my husband speak. Our server was the bartender, how the heck that happened I don't know. It took them 15 minutes to get our drink order, and every time our waiter (bartender) came by our table it felt like he was just inconvenienced by us. Our dinner included dessert but we were so frustrated by this horrible service and mediocre food that we paid our tab and left. We will not be coming back here again.

My husband and I frequented this restaurant in the 2 years we lived in the area. The food never disappointed, the service was excellent, and with soup, salad, bread, ice cream, and a veggie platter included in the meal price, the prices never seemed unreasonable. The filet mignon and salmon were among our favorites. If you're looking for a nice dinner out, this is the place for you.

I really like this place. Food is above average, the calamari steak is sooo yummy. We got it as an appetizer. Cooked perfectly. I have had just about everything on the menu and have not been disappointed. But save room for dessert. Last time I was there they had homemade apricot pie.

Love this restaurant!  Love the cracker and relish tray with garlic butter!  The food is great, huge portions!

The service was good.  The manager made sure we were tended to at all times.  Not too busy, not dead either.  Just right for a nice dinner out.

Nice little gem of a restaurant in downtown Turlock. The food we have had on our visits has been very good. The setting is nice and cozy and relaxing. The wait staff could do a bit more work on learning the menu items, especially the specials of the day.

I had the Seafood Platter tonight along with a cup of minestrone soup, salad, bread and iced tea.  I didn't eat it all I hope you know, but I would have if I could have.  The meal was very well prepared and the service was top notch.   Nice girl named Casey or Kasey or Caysee or...but she was very sweet and everyone working there smiled the entire time.  That's nice to see.  The DMV could use some tips from these girls.

The only reason they should have a star is because of our server was cute. The food was terrible. The server didn't take the time to learn the menu and had to keep going to the back to ask simple question a server should know.

I ordered the ribs and it was disappointing. The ribs tasted old and rubbery. The fish and chips that my girlfriend order were disgusting. Fish should not have an after taste like it did. I would know! I am a sushi chef!

First time I have been here and ya know what, not the last.

Quite interesting how this place serves you gourmet crackers and vegetables as complimentary. :)

I came here with my sister, her hubby and our group of friends. We really came here for the alcohol and heard it was the place to hang out.

We ended up ordering  the buffalo wings, onion rings, calamari, porter house, sirloin, lobster, rack of lamb, prime rib, 7 shots of hennessy per person, martini's and purple hooters. Oh wait, there was one more drink that had 9 alcohol....hmm...can't remember the name. (will be back to edit)

This place was simply devine. :)  I like the food, the drinks (ewww except for the hennessy! nasty stuff), the service and the ambiance. :)

Love the food and service, and have never had a bad meal there!

The few things that bug me are:

The tables are never set!?   Some clothe napkins --which you get anyway--, silverware and glassware, would go a long way to dress up the place!

And two, the attire of the otherwise awesome wait staff is decidedly "causal."   Kinda gives the place a "pizza parlor" feel, when really it's so much more than that.

This place was pretty good.  Service was ok, the clam chowder was decent, actually tasted homemade as they claim.  I got the grilled shrimp which was good, a tad salty, although my friend said it was perfect, but not salty enough to really complain about.  Others got steak and fish and no complaints.  I didn't find the prices to be bad at all, maybe it's because I'm used to bay area prices we'll definitely be back again.

We won a gift certificate for here once and even though the meal was free I was happy enough to come back again! the food was good and the service was great. Prices may seem higher compared to anywhere else on the block, but they are still reasonable!

The food is pretty good. One of the nicer places in Turlock. The food is kinda pricey but not Bay Area pricey. The selection is very good and some of the dishes are very creative. Parking can be a problem sometimes and you may have to park down the street a little ways.
