We went here for the first time on a busy Saturday night and it was loud but fine.
The waitress was very friendly and got us chairs so we could sit at a table for 2.
The food and drinks were good but we were blown away by the wings!
They have Sliders, J. Timothy's and Bidwell Tavern beat and we can't stop raving about Central Cafe's wings!
They have over 60 flavors and were so tasty.... cooked to perfection.
We are getting a group of people to go with us to see for themselves after the car show this Sunday.
Looking forward to it!
This is by far the best sports bar in Central CT...large horseshoe style bar w 14 HD Monitors, pool table, outdoor patio, clean, good Pub menu food w large portions at cheap prices, huge selection of jumbo wings, hot young cleavage bulging bartenders who are professional and friendly, Â and good selection of beers on tap...try the happy hour specials from 3-6
Review Source:SC girls head to CT. This place has a great atmosphere. Perfect for Saturday football. Had the fried mozzarella and it was great! Also had waffle fries and they were good. Now for the wings. I had the boneless Jamaican Jerk these are really tenders. Did not like the taste at all. A bit spicy too. My friend had Buttermilk Ranch and the wet Garlic Parmesan. The "wet" wings were not wet. The taste of the rub was good but when you bit into the wings the grease came flowing out. Taste more like fried chicken than anything. Was a little disappointed.
Review Source:I consider Central Cafe the best Bar in Plainvile. Â Not sure if that's saying much, but it's really a good place to hang out and get good food with your drinks.
There's a ton of large flascreen TV's to see any game you ar looking to watch. Â The inside has a modern sports bar vibe and decor. Â Plenty of seatting around the long horseshoe shaped bar and plenty of tables for sitting in groups.
The food is really good all over the menu. Â The wings are excellent, definately the biggest and meatiest wings I've had. Â They have a lot of great flavors too. Â They don't have that good crisp that I look for, but they are great for a change of pace.
Central Cafe is a great hometown bar. Casual and fun. Set in a building that I can remember being the old general store many years ago, it's got great atmosphere. Lots and lots of TVs showing all the sports you could ever need, and Tuesday and Thursday night karaoke with Backstreet Entertainment. Great selection of songs, good sound. They also have a live music schedule as well. If karaoke's not your style, there's a digital jukebox, a pool table, and a few other arcade machines scattered around. Food is great, awesome wings especially. And free popcorn for the taking. Parking available either on the street or in the lot out back. Handicapped accessible. Large patio area with ample seating outdoors for the smokers. Glad to see a business doing so well in the center of town, it's needed.
Review Source:Nice atmosphere for the "watch the game at the local bar" crowd. Lots of flatscreen TVs for watching the game (or games). Surround sound speaker systems blast the audio from the game on the projection screen. We went on a Monday night (during Monday Night Football) and wanted to talk over a beer and a meal. The load audio made that difficult especially when the commercials came on.
Free popcorn. Pool table. Clean and sporty decor.
Fish and chips were not what I expected. Cross cut fries were great. Fish was basically the frozen fish sticks you can get at any grocery store. Tasty but seriously processed factory food.
I would definitely go back but only with sports fans who would rather watch the game than talk.
Central Cafe is a nice local place to hang out and have a few beers with friends. Â The food is pretty good, they have a large selection of wing flavors, and a pretty decent selection of beers. Â They have quite a few TVs for sports fans, a pool table, juke box, popcorn machine, and lots of good times waiting.
