Ok the last time I was here was like 3 years ago, I walked in the other night and the place has changed, it is still a dive bar, but the atmosphere has changed. I met the owner Toi the other night and she has made the bar more inviting. The drink prices are fair and they have a decent slection on tap. I think i'll be going here more oftern.

Cherp's is that place where regulars go and hang out, or last call if it's on the wire. Â The fact that there are not many bars/sportsbars in fontana or bloomington, makes Cherp's that place where you will drop in (unless you are a regular), and not know why. Â The saving grace is the bartenders, they are cool and take care of you. Â Music is good (loud if u want it) and the TV's take care of the sports angle. Â There are a couple pool tables front and in the back. Â This is a quriky bar, for many reasons, (beside this issue) draft beers yes, only beers in cans.. hmmmm?. Â Mgnt needs to put some $$ in a little pest control, and take care or the mens rooms (ladies I am sure too). Â I still like this place for a beer, just correct the problems.
Review Source:Ah Cherps. This place is by far one of the trashiest dive bars I have ever been to. This simple fact earns it a special place in my heart.
The first time that I was a patron here my friend, Justin, and I parked in the seedy little back alley (he's a regular) and started to walk up to the back door. We were quickly distracted by the smell of roasting meat. Imagine our luck, there was a family BBQing on the back of their truck selling ribs to customers like this was a completely normal thing to do! I went against all rational thought (I was goaded on by my friend) and I purchased small feast for 3 dollars. We bellied up to the bar with our food (they let us eat it there) and ordered some beer. The beer is cheap. The bar was smokey! Although there are "No Smoking" signs clearly posted at various spots in the bar, people light up anyways. The bartender that is usually there when I am, is a no-nonsense woman, who is friendly but wary of shenanigans. She's not about to be taken for a ride!
The other patrons are usually lively. Dancing, or some sort of jerky gyrating, usually occurs. It's usually just one maverick-y man, dancing around the bar since there is no official dance floor. But isn't that why we go to dive bars; to laugh at others and feel better about ourselves? I met a guy there once who had been to jail. He invited me to go to the VFW with him. He sang Vanilla Ice and other bad early 90's songs very, very loudly and cursed at anyone who would dare look at him. I heard that the cops came later.
Cherps is a serious good time, if you don't mind the cops.
