I love Chili's food but not at the expense of bad service. Â
Customers are invisible - Service staff talk to each other more than they talk to their customers. Â I just visited the restaurant to pick up a "To Go" order. Â
Several servers watched us walk in but not one bothered greet us.
I had to ask one of the servers walking past me for help. Â
This restaurant desperately needs customer service training or a new manager who can lead and set the right tone for the staff.
I like Chili's, but not this location. Â When you have a large well established chain like this, the only way to distinguish yourself from other locations is service. Â The service we had here was sub-par.
1. Bring the appetizer out right away, not a few minutes before the main course arrives. Â Stupid,
2. ALWAYS ask how the customer wants hamburgers cooked. Â More than stupid.
I wouldn't come here again. Our hostess didnt smile when we walked in. Tried to put us in a corner table behind another table so you had squeeze your butt against someones head so we asked for a new table. It was really hot in there, not a very fun atmosphere. Bar was super quiet. Service took forever, food was mediocre at best. Chewy chicken strips, the southwest egg rolls were good but the mini burgers were dry and potato skins were very oily. Took forever to get refills. Wasnt very busy. They got one of our orders wrong which they fixed so Ill give em 2 stars. Server was nice, just had to wait so long for everything. I've came here 3 times and never had a good experience. Theres so many better places in the area I wouldnt waste my time trying this one. Hopefully management reads these awful reviews and does an overhaul. Put on some A/C when its 90 outside, provide better seating, retrain staff, get your bar going it was Sat night and dead, Â etc. The menu had some really interesting items on it but I wont be back to try them until they fix the things I mentioned above.
Review Source:I normally like Chili's restaurants, but this one is pretty bad. The service is SUPER slow, even when it's not that busy. We waited over a half hour for our food and it wasn't even a complicated order (just a steak and a chicken Caesar salad). My salad was okay (croutons were so hard that they were practically inedible, though), but my boyfriend's steak was very undercooked (he asked for medium) and his food was cold.
We also ordered the loaded baked potato soup, which was disgusting because it was just a bowl full of melted cheese. Nasty. I guess I was expecting it to look like actual potato soup, but I guess the word "loaded" means putting an entire block of cheese in it. Yuck. Not ordering that one ever again.
Never going back to this one. Poor service and poor quality of food.
Grosses good ever! I ordered the chicken fajitas and the chicken was not fresh at all. It tasted preseasoned and frozen. I also think it was a piece of microwaved chicken. Might as well just buy some frozen food from a supermarket and take it home and save money. The food here isn't made from fresh ingredients. Stay away
Review Source:Today I attended a large group luncheon at this restaurant which was preplanned and scheduled a week in advance with Chilli's. We were seated at 11 am and 40 minutes later were just placing our orders for lunch and drinks. The drinks arrived quickly but the food did not arrive until 1 pm two hours later. The food quality was good but the service was terrible and the worst I've ever seen in any restaurant and worse than any Chilli's restaurant experience I've ever had. This restaurant location is known for it's slow service.
Review Source:We came here after Discovery Kingdom, extremely cold. I ordered a hot chocolate and asked for whip in it. I was brought A cup of hot water and packet of hot chocolate which ment no whip =/ I had to ask for some again.....it came out in a cup. ??? Really??? Hubby ordered fajitas and when the food came out, he got no tortillas and the waiter was no where to be found for quite some time.
I was also dissapointed when our soup and chips and salsa all came out at the same time????? Comm'on!
We asked for something to take our chip and salsa home in since the food came out with the appetizers and the waiter brings us a plastic bag for the chips and nothing for the salsa.....I got real tired of having to ask for stuff by this point but i asked for a container for the salsa and finally got it. Then my gift card didnt work! UGHHHHH! They finally got it to work after some time but this is, by far, the worst Chilies I have been to, ever!
We have been to this place at least 5 Â times now and every time we have horrible service. We have to wait forever before we even get water or our order taken no matter how busy or slow it is!
This last time we decided to order out and pick up. WOW worst trip!! They got our order all wrong, I paid extra for sauces like avocado, cheese, etc that I never received as well as missed sauces on our burgers/sandwiches. So basically I got ripped off, had horrible guest service and the food was shitty.
DO NOT GO THERE!!!
I was reading other yelps on the host service and thought the same thing = no host in site when you enter the doors. The place isn't packed either for the staff to be MIA. After we got our tables our waitress took our orders and the chips and salsa was REALLY SALTY!!! BEWARE!
The food isn't that great to be excited about. If it tastes like things you can microwave at home then it is not worth the trip to a restaurant.
I would say that their prices are good for the portions you get, but then again... I can go to safe way and pick up something similar...
I can't say much for Chili's full menu b/c I haven't had an entree from there in years, but we do like to frequent Chili's for their all day happy hour on Sundays in the bar. They have some pretty good deals on half portioned appetizers and the $3.50 house margarita's are pretty spot on. Their $5 mango and blackberry margaritas are mighty tasty too. The bartender usually makes them strong enough to be worth your while.
So far we've tried the happy hour portioned nachos (pretty good), texas cheese fries (really good) and their southwestern eggrolls (awesome, but I've always liked these since highschool). Prices range from $3-$5 an appetizer.
Service has always been friendly, not too attentive, but they don't ignore you for periods on end.
Tortilla Soup!!!!!!! bring it back!!!!! That was the best soup ever, I used to go to Chili's just for the tortilla soup. Now it is gone.... BOOOOO. Anyways we went there to eat and found they have the meal deal like so many other restraunts are starting to do. We both had the Margarita Chicken. It was actually a little bland and kinda reminded me of the chicken breasts you buy frozen at Costo. Which are very good mind you but i should not be able to identify it as frozen chicken. The waitress was very nice and service was great. I was probably disapointed from the start with the tortilla soup not being on the menu anymore.
Review Source:The only reason I am giving this restaurant 4 stars is because of the staff!! Â The food was mediocre compared to other Chili's that I have been at! Â However the service was first rate!!!! Â The entire staff is very young, in that the manager, the host, the wait staff all had to be under 30 years old, however they went above and beyond the call of duty!! Â Amy was our server and she was extremely apologetic about the wait, the poor quality food, the drinks, etc..and the manager (I think his name was Victor) was appreciative of our comments...they were short staffed and the host even bussed our table himself, so that we could get seated right away! Â Despite their young (and probably inexperienced) age, these people know the meaning of remarkable service!
Review Source:So...I came in around 11:30am with two business associates in order to get faster service before the noon lunch crowd. Key word here is faster, meaning not competing with lots of other diners. The hostess was friendly and promptly seated us. There was one person sitting at the bar eating, and only two tables visible with people when we sat down. It was not particularly clean in there, and the menu choice is not very exciting, just standard fare. We only chose Chili's because I had a gift card in my wallet since Christmas, here it was September, Â and it was time to finally use it. We received our glasses of water when we ordered about 5 minutes later. She pointed out another waiter she was working with in that room, and to ask him for anything also. We never saw him again. Everything with our waitress, to this point, made her appear to be normal. But this would soon prove to be an illusion.
Since I was in conversation with my table mates, I lost track of how long we had been sitting there waiting for our food. Suddenly I realized the folks seated behind us, who came in at least 15 minutes after us, were being served their meal (different waitress)...in fact one of them was getting exactly what I had ordered, so I felt really pissed off. I was also getting that low blood sugar buzz that makes one panicky. Our waitress suddenly became our nemesis, but I remained courteous. She never came by to check on us, bring us chips, bread, nothing. We just hardly saw her, period. Then a rare siting of our waitress occurred, and I quickly motioned for her to come over, before she disappeared back to where ever she hides to. She was placing appetizers down for a recently seated group, I asked what was taking so long. She acted surprised and left to investigate.
She returned and knelt down in front of our table (either to hide what she was going to say from her coworkers or in order to seem diminutive and friendly). She forgot to submit our order. Oh, she was so sad and sorry. But, I say, we have been sitting there 40 minutes already! She did not offer to comp anything, but promised our meal on the table in 10 minutes. I am a calm person, but I am extremely unhappy with this situation, and let her know, but I would wait 10 minutes. Cripes, I already invested so much time in my waiting,  but please bring the chips  and salsa, pronto!
Nope. Nope. Not gonna happen. Not even this simple act of bringing chips. HER JOB IS REALLY TO PICK OUT A TABLE AND STARVE IT'S OCCUPANTS!!! Â To prove my theory, she next placed chips to a newly seated group at a corner table, where we could SEE the food, but not have any ourselves.
We walked out.
If I could give a minus star, they would get minus five, which would be the max for the worst. We quickly drove over to Rubios, got some tacos to go, and I returned to the office, barely in time for my 1pm meeting.
I remembered Chili's to be a bit better than the visit I experienced today. The 1st negative indicator that I got was when we first walked in. No host or hostess in sight, with a group of 7 people waiting on the bench as we wondered if we could sit down anywhere. A host finally comes over, and says, "4?", we of course say yes and then the party behind us says, "and a party of 7 after you're done with them!!!!"
This was definitely the most dead Chili's I had ever seen and now I might understand why. Luckily our waitress was decent but that didn't make up for the 40 minutes it took for our food to come out. And thank god the food was decent otherwise this Chili's would definitely be in the 2 star range.
I'm going to be nice and give this Chili's 3 stars because our waiter did not disappoint and the food was pretty mediocre.
Stopped by here for lunch today. I had the Triple Dipper and I have to say the Chicken Crispers were probably the best I've had in a long time. Freshly fried and the meat was very moist. Their chicken enchilada soup is the best! The lunch combos are a good deal and so is the Unlimited soup and salad. Great deals for lunch, Monday thru Friday. The service was also great. Our waitress was attentive and never wander too far away.
Review Source:Had a great lunch today with my grandma here. Â We had their lunch special you get to choose from eather a $6. combo, a $7. combo or a $8. combo. Â Each combo includes a choice of half a sandwice, fries and eather soup or salad. Â Cant beat haveing luch for under twenty dollers for two. Â The service was great and everyone was very friendly. Â Will be back very soon :)
Review Source:I'm always game for Chili's and my usual location of choice is in Concord. Â However, this time around I was in Vacaville and expected the same quality of food and service I find elsewhere. Â My first impression was the place was empty for a weeknight. Â Sure, the place isn't going to be packed, but it seemed quite dead even for a weeknight.
We were seated and quickly given our menus and our drink order was taken. Â The appetizers took some time to come out, but weren't readily available as my usual bottomless chips and salsa. Â The party I was with ordered Texas Fries and Cheese Sticks. Â I'm not one for greasy finger foods, but I'm sure they were average at best.
I wasn't in the usual mood for my baby back ribs, so I went ahead with my comfort food, chicken fajitas. Â The entree was part of the 2/20 deal, which is surprising, especially considering the plate costs $13 on its own. Â The food came out just as the appetizers were being finished and my fajitas were sizzling and accompanied with grilled onions and tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, and flour tortillas.
Unfortunately, the food wasn't as delicious as previously remembered. Â The grilled chicken was on the bland side and lacked the flavor I've grown to enjoy at other Chili's. Â Nevertheless, the entree made for some average chicken tacos and filled me up nicely. Â I'm not sure if I just happen to come on the wrong night or if this is a Chili's worth avoiding. Â I'll give the benefit of the doubt and give it another chance before writing it off completely.
Had dinner Fri. nite around 9:30pm - after waiting across the street at BJ's Brewery - and couldn't wait any longer! Â Was it the chilly rainy nighttime weather ... I don't know, but 3 of us ordered different burgers and were very very very happy! Â It wasn't what or where we had planned to eat, but was great after all! Â Service was good, if a bit intrusive - well, we were here after a vigil service and needed to chat with each other - could wait staff listen for 3 seconds to see if it's a good time, if anyone looks their way, or if we don't look at them, because we don't want to be interrupted just then. Â I know, I'm picky.
Please, wait staff should discuss private lives with each other away from our table...other than that...staff attentive and responsive!
Came here for a quick lunch with my wife and 2 year old son. We were seated quickly and it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress took about 5 minutes to come to the table. We ordered our drinks and food and then waited. It wasn't too long to get our food, but they got my sons order wrong. We asked for rice, not fries. And we asked for milk for my son, and we had to remind her again half way through the meal to ring his milk. She also didn't ask to refill our drinks until we were done eating. Either she had a lot going on, or wasn't that engaged in what she was doing, either way she wasn't that good.
Food was ok as well... Not bad. I had soup and sandwich lunch combo, pretty good. The enchilada soup was good.
I've never been a fan of Chili's, and this visit didn't give me a reason to change my mind.
i came here for a birthday lunch. and boy was i disappointed in my meal -_- first off, i couldn't find this place because vacaville is known for their outlets. Â I thought chili's was on the main side but nope, it was on the other side of the freeway! -__- it took me about 45 mins just to look for the restaurant! T_T
my friends were already waiting for me, so right when i got there we ordered. Â we all ordered the 2 for $20 plus an appetizer. Â I got the ribs -- i have to say it wasn't that good at all. Â when the ribs came out it didn't look appealing at all. Â the meat was DRY and it was drenched with bbq sauce. Â very disappointed. -_- i should have gotten the chicken salad or something!
service was alright, but i felt like we were rushed with the food and the check. sheesh. anyways, they helped us with the cake, which was nice of them. Â i don't think im going to come to Chili's again.
I have to say I am a little dissapointed in Chilis. I believe some might agree with me when I say that they have really gone down hill. Their food is very bland and not very appealing. On this visit we were sitting in the bar area for lunch because there was no wait and they offer full service. The waitress was ok. They kept the drinks filled which is a huge pet peeve of mine. The food came out at an ok time. I just have to say I had the Cajun Chicken Pasta and the Pasta was a little over cook and some parts was like chewing rubber... Yuk!
All in all... When I think of going out to dinner...I never think of Chilis.
I don't really have a problem with Chili's. Â We stopped in around 8:45pm on a Friday night on our way out for our long weekend away. Â We were greeted by the hostess and told it would take about five minutes to be seated and she left. Â Then another hostess came by and asked if we were waiting for seats. Â We said yes, and she led us to some seats right away. Â Weird.
Anyway, our waiter came and greeted us right away and introduced himself as well as the other waiter in the area. Â He was really super nice and we ordered very quickly and got our food really fast too. Â I ordered the Margarita Chicken which came with mixed rice and beans. Â A lot of beans. Â Like a whole plate full of beans. Â Wow, that was a lot of beans. Â And A ordered the avocado burger. Â His burger looked pretty good, but then again, I love avocados!
The food was decent and the service was fine. Â I don't see why I wouldn't stop by again if I needed a bite to eat and I was in the area.
I want my money back, money back, money back ....
Never again will I eat at a Chili's! I was on a lunch break and it was close by, but I left both unsatisfied and a bit irritated.
Our server was friendly, but she forgot about us after a while. I had my empty beverage mug sitting on the edge of the table, in clear sight, for at least 10 minutes without a refill.
The service isn't what got Chili's a two-star rating. The food, while edible, was one of the most laughably horrible meals I've ever had.
I ordered the Cajun Pasta, which was described as "penne pasta with creamy Alfredo sauce and Cajun spices." Instead, I got penne pasta with watery, flavorless Alfredo sauce and no Cajun spices whatsoever. I could see a few grains of pepper here and there, but not one hint of "Cajun" flavor." The meal came with one half-burnt, half-soggy piece of garlic toast (the exact same Texas Toast you buy frozen at Sam's Club) with chewy, bland chicken charred to an oblivion. To top it all off, the meal was $11.50 but did not include soup or salad!
My sister ordered the Smoked Turkey sandwich, which turned out to be one slice of Oscar Meyer-esque deli turkey, one slice of provolone cheese and a dab of mayo on a plain wheat bun. When she lifted the bun off the top of the sandwich, she laughed! To add to it, the salad that accompanied her meal featured brown, unappetizing lettuce.
The total cost of our meal: $24.78. All for two embarrassingly awful entrees, two drinks, and two very unsatisfied, ripped-off consumers.
Hate to say it Chili's, but I've had better penne pasta at the cafeteria inside IKEA! ;)
A few years back my wife and I were stopping in here on a hot summer day as we were driving through Vacaville.
It happened that my wife ended up slipping on vomit from some kid that we didn't see. Â Now, that isn't the restaurant's fault, but how the reacted was just horrible. Â They never said sorry, instead telling my wife that flip flops are really not good footwear (when it's 100 degrees outside). Â They were obviously worried we'd sue them, which we had no intention to do and didn't do. Â Still, I'll never eat there again because of how they treated us.
We've had better food at chains... they're off their mark today or is that the usual here?... we were seated at table that needed a wipe down... including the floors, it was some slimy  mash on the floor that I was slippin on.
Lynn, our server, was nice and hooked us up w/ a plethora of tortilla chips and packaged it up for us to take home; she happily refilled our arnold plamers before even asking.
The hubs food was burnt and over done, seriously, he didn't order cajun/blackened... *blah*... i was happy w/ my all you can eat soup and salad. Overall a nice day date, but don't think we'll be coming around again unless we're just planning to drink lunch/dinner =D
We were forced to eat here last night when meeting half way between Sacramento and Fairfield, and we ran out of time and energy, and available options. It was open, they had tables, we took one.
We were seated and the tables were dirty and sticky, covered with the fat-sauce-beer ooze from prior diners.  Got that wiped off  (on request) and we settled in. Â
I ordered a burger and asked for the menu-described sauce on the side and had barely finished that request when the waitress sighed deeply and rolled her eyes at me.
I stopped talking and instantly said "Oh, is that a problem for you?"
She realized she'd been a little less than cool with a simple request and said "Oh no! Sure sure I'l ask!" and then went overboard being cheerful (tip on the line?)
After our meals were served, we spent 2 minutes trying to flag her down to get cutlery. Another server noticed and alerted our server to the fact that gee, we could sure use a fork. And a napkin.
The mini hamburger was actually fine, but the included onion strings were ICE COLD.
I understand it was a harried and frenetic night (pay day for all on April 1) but sheesh, get it together.
Awful place. Awful food. We knew the risk when we took it.
I came here Sunday after church with the girls..... We were greeted and seated quickly. They had the 2 for $20 deal going on which was AWESOME! 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and dessert!
We got our food fast and service was great! The food was great and just the entire experience was great! This was only my second time here and i think i will be back shortly!
For a chain restaurant its not bad. The food is pretty good and the service is usually OK. I mean what do you expect? This isn't a super expensive, dress up type restaurant that will set you back $75 a head. Its good food at a decent price. Like all other restaurants avoid them on Friday and Saturdays night or be prepared to be busy and wait for a table. The food is usually good and you know what you're getting. I haven't had a bad experience here.
Review Source:For some reason my friend and I always tend to go eat at this place whenever we go and see each other. Â But for the most part the food is just okay. Â maybe I should go and get their appetizers, I do not know because they are really good. Â i had their steak fajitas and they were pretty good. They do not give you much guacamole or sides for it or tortillas for the matter. Â I had the icecream and spongecake, it was really good. Â However, the service is slow, it took us like 1 hour and a half to be served the full meal =( Â anyways that is it for that =)
Review Source:Terrible Takeout!
I've ordered takeout various times from this location with poor results. They just cannot get it right! The last time I placed an order, I ordered two different salads with dressing on the side for both, simple right? Luckily I have become "take-out savy" and checked the order before leaving. They put the dressing for the opposite salads on each order and then put the correct dressings in side containers. What the?!?! I pointed this out to the waitress who seemed be have become annoyed at me because of this. She took the salads back to have them corrected. After about ten minutes she brought out one new salad and it had dressing on it also! Away it went. Five minutes after that, she brought out the other salad and it was the wrong salad. I again told her that this was incorrect. By this point it appeared that I really ruined her night. After the fourth failed attempt at two salads with dressing on the side, I simply and politely asked for a refund. The manager was called and my money refunded without explanation or appology.
I'm not sure where the lack of communication takes place and why this happens often. There are many other places to eat in V.V. Sorry, but Chili's Takeout gets one star.
I'm never going back.
The waitress was too much in a rush and gave us wrong drinks. Â When she did bring us back the correct drinks, she seemed annoyed. Â Our food came in a timely manner.
I had the ceasar salad and found a long curly hair in it!! Â I was so disgusted!! Â I told the hostess who was seating another party next to us and I whispered it because I didn't want everyone around us to hear. Â The manager came and offered me something else but I've lost my appetite and didn't really want to eat anything else there so I just had a bowl of soup. Â Our waitress seemed more annoyed at this point as if we were nothing troublemakers.
Whatever. Â
PS - women's restroom was filthy and way too small.
For a chain restaurant, you can't really blame this place for the decor, and the seating can be horrible certain nights. But this is a good place to get something reliable to eat at.
Nothing extraordinary about the service or the food here, but you can always get a reliable margarita or some ribs here. Lets face facts, getting some good ribs, can be hard, finding a great rib place can be like a crusade. So, when in a bind for ribs, why not go here or BJ's.
Chili's baby back ribs...with bbq sauce. ...
Not all Chili's are created equal...
Consistency is the key... This is what made McDonald's famous. Sure their food may taste the same though the service at times tends to need some work. How often have you "trusted" the drive through attendant only to get all the way home only to find that they didn't remove the cheese or forgot an item. Chili's in Vacaville however needs help on both consistency & service.
I give most places the benefit of the doubt the first time around without completely writing them off. First visit was a standard Chipotle Blue Cheese burger. Something I've ordered many times without incident at Chili's Fremont during my lunch break. I was expecting a satisfying, juicy burger w/ melting chunks of Blue Cheese on a soft, buttery bun. What I got was bread that obviously wasn't fresh & a burger that was as dry as a bone. I forced a little more than 3/4 of it down, chasing it with water before finally giving up. Not once did the server stop by to ask how we were doing or to offer refills on any of the drinks. Something that I desperately needed considering the sponge I forced down my throat depleted my mouth of its much needed saliva. Strike 1...
Ehh, they must have been having a bad day, right? OK, let me give the burger one more try. Sparing you the repetitious details of how the burger tasted yet again, I'll just say refer to paragraph 2. Service this time however was even worse considering when I tried to substitute my fries with a salad (again, something that I've always done without incident @ the Fremont location), the server said that it would not be possible. I tried to explain that this has been done before, many times but to no avail... Strike 2...
It doesn't take a genius or a crystal ball to foresee that Strike 3 is coming... Service sucks, so I've decided to place an order to go. No more burgers for me... This time, I opted for the Cajun chicken pasta. Sliced, Cajun-seasoned chicken breast on penne pasta with creamy Alfredo sauce, seasoned tomatoes, Parmesan cheese and garlic toast. Mmm... Sounds good doesn't it? Well... I got all the way home, only to find that they forgot my garlic toast. Call me juvenile, call me immature but I can't eat pasta without my bread. I was fuming but too damn lazy to head back to Chili's. Luckily, my sister in-law (who ordered chicken fried steak) did get garlic toast which she never eats anyway. Yeehaw! On to the main course! The pasta was obviously soaking in water for quite some time & wasn't fully drained. A mixture of Alfredo & water turned the dish into a white, soupy mess. This was all topped off with (I'm guessing) chicken flavored meat which had an unappetizing rubbery texture to it.
If you've read through the entire review or skipped directly to the end, it'll still result with the same conclusion. I won't be going back anytime soon... Really though, what do you expect for a step above Denny's?
This place was pretty good. Â Food was awesome. Â I ordered grilled The "classic." Â Now don't get me wrong, I always order somthing sizzling, (that's how I know it's fresh) but sizzling things are awesome! Â It wasn't that packed when me and my friend ate here, so it made things even better.
The restaurant was very clean, the staff was friendly as heck! Â The only reason they're short a star, was because when my friend ordered the baby back ribs, the server came back (10 mins after she took our order) and said there were no more baby back ribs. Â Sad huh? Â He had to re order, but the best part was that our server insisted that we weren't going to pay for anything that we ordered. Â Cool huh? Â
Loved this place. Â Highly recommended!
