China Buffet

Don't let the outside of the building deter you.  It's kinda run down looking and painted Miami Vice colors, yes pink and blue, but you're not in Miami, you're in Springfield, Ohio.  

Let's talk about this restaurant.

Easy enough parking.  Go in, pay before you eat (dinner was $9.80 and includes your drink).  Buffet gets cranked up about 5:30.  I got there a few minutes before and got food that was a little older and cooler, but not bad, so of course I had to go back up and get the fresh stuff coming out for the dinner crowd to get a proper rating.   I was not dissapointed with anything.  Let me give you a list of things I tried and a rating.

Hot and Sour Soup:  VG  God knows I love this stuff, IV anyone?

Battered Shrimp:  G - Like the store bought kind

Lo Mein:  G - Tasted a little older  

Mongolian Beef:  G - Beef was ok but had a good flavor

Crab Rangoon: Excellent - Golden crispy with lots of crab filler

Beef and Mushrooms:  VG - Again, good flavor

Stuffed Mushrooms: G - Decent flavor but a little old

Pepper Chicken: VG - Pieces of chicken were very small but decent flavor

Spring Roll: VG - Crispy and golden brown.

You get your own drinks here so tipping for me is at a minimum.

For $6, which includes a drink and ice cream, it's worth it.  Crab Rangoon was very good, the chicken lo mein was not.  I think I would only go back if I were really desperate for something to eat, and all the rest of the Chinese restaurants were burnt down...
