This is basically a take-out place. My girl friend and I both had the chicken with broccoli with white rice and egg roll combination. Unfortunately, they do not offer Brown Rice, which would be my preference, if they offered it! The dishes were very good and the rice was properly cooked! The egg rolls were also good. It should be noted that they give very large portions of food. They sell Snapple juices, which are excellent! They do not accept credit or debit cards....strictly cash, only! Â It is a shame that the Chinese Gourmet Kitchen isn't located in New Paltz, New York, where I live, as two of the Chinese restaurants in New Paltz are not very good, namely, Great Wall Kitchen and the China House.
Review Source:A good local Chinese restaurant. The place is small so don't plan on eating in. They only have one table.
The full kitchen is visible from behind the counter so you can watch your food get prepared. It's a little entertainment while you're waiting
Prices are good. They have combination plates all for under $10 each which include meat, rice, soup, and an egg roll. We usually go with these because you get a lot of food for a great price. Â I've had both the sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken plates and was satisfied with the both of them. Â No complaints here.
This place is worth a stop if you're in town and in the mood for some good Chinese, but it's not anything special to go out of your way for. Also, be aware that this place doesn't accept debit/credit cards. Cash only.
