Christmas Karaoke

This place is so shady. It's really misleading because they claim they charge like 6-8 bucks an hour but after all the taxes and gratuity, your bill will come out much much higher. Also, they will charge you by the minute. We went as a group of four, stayed for 2 hours and spent close to $20 per person.They made a suggested gratuity, they didn't even serve us! They didn't tell us about gratuity until we had to pay.

Warning: do not go as a group of 5 or more people, they will charge you 18% gratuity automatically even if they don't serve you.

I'm really skeptical about the 5 star ratings here because this places advertises that if you left them a good review on yelp, they'll give you an hour for free. What the heck?!

Overall, this place is just your overage Asian karaoke place, what really pissed me off was the shady way they draw in customers.

Spacious venue. I agree that the outside facade does not do the interior justice. Surprisingly pleasing once you step inside.

The selection of English songs aren't extensive, but they're definitely enough to keep you going for a few hours.

I've never ordered food here so I can't comment on that, but I have ordered the typical cocktails and they tasted just fine. Granted they didn't have a chocolate martini and that bummed me out, but not a lot of places make those.

I want to address some of the comments below and give some tips about Asian-run Karaoke places. I frequent them VERY often. =)
*ALWAYS ask for an hourly per person rate before you start. Standard procedure. Protects you from any unnecessary surprises. Some times karaoke places have different rate systems depending on the # of people in the room (i.e. the cheaper it is the more ppl you have)
*These places never come in to check in on you unless you have a party booked and you bought a food/drinks package (birthdays, etc). It's easy to just pick up the phone (usually on the wall) and call in your food/drink orders.
*These places never have a countdown clock. You're expected to track that yourself. I mean, it kind of makes sense. Why would a business help you keep track of how much you're spending at their venue?  Malls don't have clocks on the wall and neither do cafes.
*Never go over the hourly mark. If you do 30 extra minutes, they'll probably charge you the full extra hour's rate. So if you're going to do an extra 30 mins, just stay for the entire hour.

The pros this place has going for it: HUGE, lots of rooms (of different sizes), great karaoke selection, fun atmosphere, clean.  The cons: service and pricing.  Although the staff will help you out, you have to ask - they don't just pop in and see how you are doing.  Maybe that's not such a big deal, but if you are going to charge gratuity, it would be nice to have someone refresh our drinks every so often.  Pricing can get expensive and is usually not inclusive, so just be wary of that.  There is no one to tell you "Oh by the way, you only have a few minutes left, would you like to settle your bill?" even if you are 1 minute over they will charge you for the hour.  I didn't even buy drinks and I ended up paying $60 for three hours of karaoke.  It was fun though, and of all the dive-y karaoke places you can go in New York, this is by far the nicest one.
