Just had my first and last visit to Chubby's. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try after the great recommendations. My ribs had to have been sitting out for days! The outer meat was hard enough to play a tune on and the inside tasted old and spoiled. The cole slaw was a vinegary mess...and the potato salad was mediocre. My husband had the briquette sandwich which was pretty good. Also the baked beans were good. Not sure what happened with the ribs but they were honestly the worst I've ever had.
Review Source:I have to disagree with those who rave about Chubby's. Except for a fairly bright vinegar-based coleslaw, everything was heavy and oily, even the chicken. Oddly, all the food was crowded onto a smallish plastic plate, making it nearly impossible to untangle the various dishes. If you like the barbecue in Lockhart, TX, for example, you may be as disappointed in Chubby's as we were.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I had the beef brisket and the chopped pork. The meat was incredibly tender and just fell apart. The coleslaw was delicious and unlike any I had ha before. They make their own baked beans which were also amazing. The potato salad is great. I will stop here every time I'm driving down I-55!
Review Source:We were amazed at the quality of the BBQ at Chubby's. Â We were traveling between St Louis and Little Rock and Yelped to find some food. Â The brisket was absolutely amazing, the most tender I have ever had, and plentiful. Â The pork was equally amazing, extremely tender with no burnt or dried up parts. Â We've eaten at Pappy's and other BBQ places and found this one to be right up there with the best we've ever had.
