I love submarine sandwiches. With that being said. Chubby's is the BEST sandwich shoppe in the Capital Region. The Michigan fries are one of my favorite sides to my subs. Love it!!

Absolutely FANTASTIC food here! I dare say it's the best sub shop in the Troy/Albany area. I don't know if they bake their bread on premesis or if they get it from somewhere else, but it is absolutely perfect. Soft and tasty - not hard and chewy. And it's not just subs - they have soup, salads, wraps, homemade chips, and more. I highly recommend their Chubby chips (lightly salted, dark Russet, kettle-cooked chips - MMM!) and their buffalo chicken mac and cheese. Cheesy, greasy and oh-so-delicious. I couldn't rave about this place enough! Just make sure you bring cash - they don't accept credit cards!

I have to visit Chubbys every time I am in the Troy area.  The food is always fresh and it always wonderful.

I order the italian mix with hot peppers and homemade chips.  I like to dip my chips in the tiger sauce (usually used not the top rounder).  I love all the cold salads as well.

All of the ingredients are fresh and not overly processed like some other places (Subway).

Try this place out for great food at a great price!

Had Chubby's today for lunch at work to celebrate one of the girl's birthday and it was as usual fabulous. I had the grilled chix salad and it was all fresh veggies, definitely generous portion, and moist grilled chicken. I've ordered from here about 3-4 times in the last 6 mos or so and each time has been great. Everyone at work loves the top rounder sandwich. I also love their chips...they are fab and don't leave that much grease behind either.

Decent fast food takeout place in Albia. This place used to be Eastside Video, which was a popular place back in the 1980s to rent out VHS movies and Nintendo games. Chubby's serves up hot & cold subs, salads, wraps, sandwiches, hot dogs, mini dogs, burgers, fried haddock, soup, chili, freshcut fries, onion rings, bagged chips, bottled beverages, shakes, and cookies & brownies. The Top Rounder offered here is similar to the Neba, which is thinly sliced roast beef dipped in au jus, salt & pepper on a toasted sesame seed roll and served with a special horseradish sauce. Combo Specials for the Top Rounder, Wraps, and Subs are offered with the choice of two sides.

On my last visit, I ordered the Fish Dinner ($6.39) served with fresh cut fries, choice of cold salad (chose Macaroni), & tartar sauce and a Coffee Milkshake ($2.59). I had to repeat my order a couple of times to the cashier, but it was all good. The fried haddock fish fry was decent, a bit salty. The fresh cut fries were slightly undercooked, the oil needed to be hotter. The homemade Macaroni Salad with the right amount of mayo was very good. The Milkshake made from hard ice cream was pretty good.

ACCESS: The parking lot layout is very tight around the building with one way flow from the back of the building via Victoria Avenue. Larger vehicles should park along Pawling Avenue (except during a Snow Emergency).
