My wife and I stopped in for breakfast while down in the area this past weekend.  Wait staff was good--very prompt and kept my coffee cup full. However, the food was lacking.  My biscuits & gravy were straight from GFS--certainly not made-from-scratch. My wife had a breakfast quesadilla that she says was "okay".  I strive to support local businesses, but can't support them when they're just a distribution outlet for Gordon. They get three stars, mostly because of the service.

Amazing! I came here with my dad, Rural king is across the street. This place lives up to and exceeded all the expectations I had for it from what others told me. The little café is bright cheerful with canary yellow walls and blue booths. The menu is small simple and done extremely well. They cook the bacon here perfectly not over done but still crisp. They have huge biscuits and gravy but a little bland. The pancakes are light and fluffy; it is there French toast you must try. Cooked golden brown covered with butter and powdered sugar, with a hot creamy center. They have an impeccable wait staff, attentive and polite. I got the sampler with whole wheat French toast as the side. Due to a mix up whole wheat toast came. The other server that was helping us when we told her said she'd be right back and disappeared in to the kitchen with a smile. No fuss no argument just fixed it, quickly returning with the fresh hot off the griddle French toast, joking that deserts had now arrived. It is a great place, you should go check out this little hidden jewel.

After yet another visit to Chuck's Cafe this weekend, which totals more visits that I can possibly count now, I've realized that I am being ridiculous in witholding the fifth star from them for their restaurant ambiance.  Yes, they are a hole in the wall that could use a remodel, but they consistenly serve the best brunch that I have ever had anywhere at extraordinarily low prices (around $14 for brunch for two).  In fact, I'm kind of glad that they don't redecorate the place and get a hostess because if they did then I might have a harder time getting my booth by the wall on Saturday mornings where I regularly sit and enjoy their amazing french toast (see pic) made with thick slices of homemade bread or their deliciously seasoned hashbrowns which are like none I have had anywhere else.  So, Chuck's here is your fifth star.  You have earned it by serving me delicious food every single time I walk through your door.  I'll be back soon for more of that french toast.
