Cigar Box is our preferred first drink stop during the yearly Bok Kai Festival in Marysville (mainly because it's right on the parade route). It's a great little divey bar and cigar shop, perfect for grabbing a quick drink (or 3) while you're waiting for the final parade-ending dragon. Beer signs all over the walls and ceilings, filled with middle age and older regulars. Plus, I believe it's the only bar that I've seen PBR and Schlitz sold in bottles.

It can get pretty smoky in there (what do you want, they sell cigars!) but the Cigar Box is a great low-key casual place to knock back a brew.

They do have a good selection of cigars but they are WAY overpriced,,On that note you cant even enjoy them for the kind of $$ they want...Dont see me going back anytime soon..Which is sad considering I'd rather buy local... I hasten to add I had a beer when I went in trying to give them another shot and it was cool not even cold..

A hometown place where everybody knows your name.  The crowd is all ages, guys and gals, you can watch the game on one of serveral flat screen rv's, play pool, or just hang-out.  Bar-b-que Ribs by Charlie Hall are great.

The Cigar Box is what I would refer to as a bar in disguise. Every time I've passed it driving through downtown Marysville, I've always believed it was a cigar/tobacco shop. Once I stepped through the glass door however, the bar revealed itself in true fashion.

Various vintage signs, photos, and advertisements decorate the back wall, while a row of antique bottles line the very top of the back of the bar itself. Two frequently used (but in very good condition) pool tables stand across from an internet juke box, and a town plot map reflecting Marysville back in the late 1800s. The Cigar Box draws mostly an older crowd, populated by both regulars and newer faces alike. The bartenders are familiar, friendly, and always ready to serve a drink. Add in a decent beer and liquor selection (which includes Fat Tire on tap), and you've got a place to relax. Plus, you can smoke inside, something of a rarity these days.

The Cigar Box doesn't try to be pretentious, doesn't overcharge for drinks, and doesn't attract the loud or the obnoxious. It's a comfortable, down-home kind of bar where you can grab a beer and a smoke, play some songs on the Jukebox, shoot some pool, and hang out with some old friends. And sometimes, that's all that I need.
