Shhhhhhhhh! Â Do us both a favor and don't tell too many folks about this place, because it's perfect. Â Absolutely perfect, I tell 'ya, and I'd hate to see an influx of newbies ruin what is Northwest Arkansas' best-kept secret.
Well, ok - you can tell a few people, but make sure they're friendly, mature, considerate, and well-behaved. Â We don't need any surly or unruly types taking over this gem of a local business. Â
Now that we've got the requests and caveats out of the way, let's talk Frisco. Â
As a Wisconsin native, I know a thing or two about drinking establishments... most towns have as many (if not more) taverns than churches up there, and I like that ratio. We have business lunches and celebrations at the bar. Â We watch the Packers and Badgers at the bar. Â Heck, we even eat breakfast at many of them.
So whenever I'm back in NWA, I find myself wanting for a good, locally-owned, homey-feeling, matured watering hole. Â Club Frisco fits that bill to the T. Â Frisco really is a phenomenal establishment.
I love the alley-way entrance. Â The exposed brick and heavy rafters give a SoHo feel. Â The medium-sized wooden bar is classy and comfortable. Â The mix of unique chairs and tables drives character. Â Searching for a more intimate setting? Â Try the upstairs or the corner settings. Â Shuffleboard and darts provide a nice bit of entertainment for those so inclined to compete while enjoying an adult beverage.
The music selections are unique and interesting; the owners' iPod serves up a great variety of the non-traditional at a comfortable volume. Â Service has always been top-notch; as soon as I approach the bar, they're at the ready. Â Rarely have I had to wait more than a few minutes for a refill, even when it's busy.
I've only sampled their beers, and while I wish they had a few more tap offerings, they do have a decent selection. Â Current taps include a wonderful Abita Amber, which I've come to really enjoy, and it's a reasonable price.
They don't serve food here, although I hear rumor of some hors d'oeuvres during happy hour. Â After hours, they do offer a mix of pretzels and peanuts - perfect snack food to accompany the imbibing. Â
The clientele has always been friendly and accommodating - I've chatted with random folks and have become acquainted with some really nice people. Â Let's keep it that way - if you're someone that I'd normally find on Dickson, please stay there - don't venture up this way.
Club Frisco = WIN
Service = 5 stars
Selection = 4 stars
Value = 4.5 stars
MISC = 5 stars
Quite easily my favorite hang-out place in all of NWA. Â Club Frisco - keep up the great work, and to the fine folks of NWA - cherish this place. Â Take care of it.
Love the Frisco! I love even more that it is in Historic Downtown Rogers. Â Great for a night out or a drink after dinner it has a comfy cozy vibe that makes you feel welcome when you walk through the doors. I love that it was not smokey in there either. Â I love to go have a drink where I don't have to smell like smoke when I leave. Thanks for that! :)
